Good phone but..

You all know about the slowness of the menus.. this plagued my old sony ericsson t300 too.. its a good phone, full of features, very nice screen (thou a bit darker than i expected) however whats up with that hold button/slide?? I have never seen that in another phone and i think its a stupid stupid design.. more often than not my thumb just slides over it, its not grippy enough.. and the games are all demos?? wow so cheap of you sony..

UPDATE: The hold is released either by the hold slide/button or pressing *, unlock.. so its not that bad :)

UPDATE2: Another minor complaint: It seems that there is no way to configure the phone to hang-up when you rotate it to closed-position. Thats what I expected along the lines of clam-shell and slide phones.. You have to actually press the button to end a call..

Jack of all trades master of none

It reads great, don't get me wrong, but the interface is miserable and the speaker picks up everything around you when you're on the phone. I've had half a dozen mobile phones over the last decade and this is the first one where I had to access the menu system to turn down the ringer. The buttons on the side with + - nope, they show the phone "status". I hate phones you need to read the manual to use, there's no excuse for it.
Product features:
The T637 features a high-resolution screen with 65,536 colors
With a built-in camera, you take pictures and store them on your computer or send them to friends all in a few simple steps
Supports the Java and Mophun platforms, making the widest range of mobile games and applications available for you to download
Update your calendar and transfer files to your computer using Bluetooth, infrared, or USB connections

Nice phone

I don't use m-mode since I have the internet at home, which works extremely well. Therefore my monthly cellular costs are very low. I bought this phone strictly for its appearance and the bluetooth headset. The motorola headset is awesome! I'm very happy with this phone. If you charge it every evening, you can use it, coupled with the headset, for HOURS on end during the day, but you must charge both the phone and headset each night. It's also great to have a flip phone that has a speaker option. Of course there are some drawbacks to this phone (battery life, slow interface), but all in all, I would not choose another phone over it. I also have bluetooth on my PC, which allows me to transfer data and pictures back and forth (without the internet intervention).
Product features:
Colorful customizable external display
VGA camera with 4x digital zoom
Integrated Bluetooth for wireless data connectivity
5 MB internal memory for downloadable applications, ringtones, wallpapers, and photos
Large 65,000-color display with video playback

Motorola Phone Good At&t Service Needs Improvement

I've had it for a week and here's my opinion.I love it: 1. crystal clear sound, earpiece, speakerphone, and earbuds; 2. SD/MMC expension combined with Windows Media Player makes it a portable MP3 player (and only this function worth the money I paid: $70 for the phone and $65 for a 256MB SD card); 3. Sync with Outlook for both contacts and canlendars (you can use your pc to enter the text then transfer to the phone, much easier than directly entering them through the tinny key board); I hate it:1. Poor signal reception. It can't get nothing in my office. Nor in the subway. Nor in my apartment basement. I guess that's what you have to live with if you choose GSM...2. Battery life sucks. I took it with me fully charged at 8am, and the battery has only 49% left at 1am -- after 17 hours. And I didn't make a single call! The second day it consumes 20% in 7 hours. So I guess the overall standby time is no more than 40 hours.3. very badly designed craddle/docking. It's very light, and in two pieces. The two pieces earsily fall apart. It holds the phone so tight that I have to use two hands to put the phone on and take it off. The connection can not easily slide in. Have to check it carefully every time. Comparing to digital camera dockings, this is a piece of junk. Also you can't turn on the phone on the craddle, because the power button is hidden and you can't reach it without disconnecting the phone from the craddle.4. Shiny black cover looks bad. I put my phone in the pocket, and it always collect the cloth dust in the pocket, which looks really bad on the black phone cover. If you put it on the belt or in a purse this may not be a problem.5. Manual is not detailed enough. The writer seemed assuming the user knows a lot Motorola terms and abbreviations. There are also typos in the manual. I'm a computer scientist so I finally figured out what they are about, but I still had a hard time doing so. I guess many people will feel confused as well.
Product features:
The Motorola MPx200 Smartphone does it all by combining all the functionality you need into a single, pocket-size package
Windows Mobile software brings the familiar Windows experience to the palm of your hand
You can synchronize everything with your desktop PC -- automatically -- with a USB connection, or over the air
Functionality allows you to download music, games, video clips, and ring tones

It's NOT a black phone

So you've read the other reviews and you're ready to buy this phone, just like I did. I'm happy with the phone. It is very light, I often have to reach to my jean pocket to see if it's still there. The reception is good in the Delaware area. I tried downloading a ringtone, the only problem was that T-mobile didn't allow me to preview the ringtones on a mac. The phone is very slim, you don't need a belt clip, unless you use a belt clip for your keys and wallet because your keys are too big and your wallet is too big (sarcastic). As far as being a good phone, it serves its purpose in that you can talk with clarity.
Here's where I get picky, so take this with a grain of salt. THE PHONE ISN'T BLACK. I know, I know, you're looking at the picture on amazon and the phone looks black... it isn't. It's a dark purple color. It's the only color they offer. If you're a guy you might be able to tell your friends it's more of a dark blue, but yes, in the sunlight you can clearly see it's purple.
Here's another picky observation, the front screen backlight turns of after 2.5 seconds (yes I counted). And plus, the backlight can only be activated if you open the phone. So if you want to look at your phone to get the time, maybe at a movie or while having lunch, you actually have to OPEN the phone and close it to get the front screen backlight to light up. Then you have less than 3 seconds. Oh and you can't press any buttons on the side of the phone to turn on the front screen backlight... yes, you have to OPEN the phone to clearly read the front screen. Uggg..

I still like the phone, it serves its purpose for me; good signal, speaker phone, has a low resolution camera (sorry no 8X10s for your wall, but good for documenting a car accident and having fun), good battery life and it's small and lightweight. I just wish it was black and not a dark purple.
Product features:
Capture and share memories using the digital camera
Enjoy a smooth and streamline body with an antenna that's hidden inside
Free your hands and go truly wireless while working or when gathering friends around for a group call
Send photos and text messages or chat with friends via AOL and Yahoo!
Decide how best to use your e335's memory. Dedicate it for photos? Games? Ringtones? You make the call

LG VX7000 Phone (Verizon Wireless)
A great phone with great service

I used to have a Samsung SGH-X426 phone with AT&T wireless and I really liked the phone because it was small, lightweight and looked pretty good. But I had horrible cell phone coverage with AT&T that continued even after the merger with Cingular. The bad coverage consisted of dropped calls, occasional garbled conversations and no/low service in some areas of California. Everyone that I talked to that had Verizon wireless really liked them as a provider so I decided to go with them and buy a LG VX7000BK from Amazon.

I'll go with the features that stand out to make me critique the phone (good and bad):

1. Great reception/coverage:
This phone excels at what I primarily need it to do: making clear phone calls. I have had it for almost a month and I have not had a single dropped call or garbled section of a conversation. My old phone/service would have dropped an average of 10 calls plus countless "garbles" during this same time and in exactly the same locations.

2. The phone is a little on the bulky side:
It's definitely bigger and heavier than my tiny Samsung but I carry it in it's holster (comes with it) on my belt so it's not an issue. I also found out that you're not supposed to carry your phone in your pocket because of the antenna being too close your skin and emitting radiation (I read it in the fine print found in the manual) so it worked out for the best using the holster. The larger size is actually a benefit when it comes to dialing and interacting with the phone menus because the keys are much larger than the old phone.

3. The outside and huge inside display screens:
The front display screen is nice showing picture id or the caller id so you don't have to flip open the phone to know who is calling you. I use distinct ringtones to identify some of my callers but the front screen is an added bonus. The inside screen is really large and high quality which is great for my photos that I use for backgrounds. The large inside display is also great for navigating through the menus, reading text messages and playing video games.

4. Voice dialing:
Using this feature, I don't even need my speed dial buttons and it's easy to program the voice dial function. When you're done setting it up, hit the button, say the name and it will make the call for you. One step nicer than trying to remember whether Joe was on speed dial number 7 or speed dial number 8.

5. USB Data Cable (not included) is great to transfer ringtones/wallpaper/phonebook info:
I bought mine off ebay for $15 and it was worth it. I use the free software program BitPim to transfer wallpapers/pictures/ringtones and phonenumbers between my phone and the computer. It's great for entering a lot of phone numbers at once on the computer (easier than doing it on the phone) and then transferring them to phone. Also great to back up your phone numbers in case you lose your phone.

6. No apparent missed call indicator once the outside display turns off:
This is my only true disappointment. A missed call will show on the outside screen but then the screen will shut off some time later to save power. To check for a missed call when it's off, you have to hit a key to fire the screen back up. It would have been nice if they would have programmed the flash indicator to flash when you have a missed call (I had that on my Samsung).

7. Camera/video option is ok:
The pictures are decent for a camera phone. That's not why I bought the phone and I really don't use it but I'm not complaining about an extra feature.

8. Decent game selection to download:
The GetItNow service from Verizon is great for downloading games. They're not cheap (around $6 for unlimited use of a game) but I've got Dig Dug, Downtown Texas Hold'Em and Impossible Mission and they're great when you have some down time.

9. Some accessories needed to be bundled with it as standard:
I recommend getting the following accessories for this phone: a good quality handsfree headset/earphone, a car charger and the USB Datacable. I wish they at least including a handsfree earphone but you can't win them all.

Conclusion:
All in all a great phone. I don't think it can be beat given its the performance, features and price. I gave it a perfect rating even though it has a few minor flaws because I've yet to find a single phone without at least a few flaws. I'm very satisfied with this phone and the service.
Product features:
VGA Digital video/camera with flash and rotating lens
Send and receive picture messages
Record 15-second videos and send video messages
Speed dialing and voice-activated dialing
20 unique default ringtones plus vibrate and silent alert

Disappointed

purchased this product and after a period of time the headset somehow went on perminant mute. logitech was decent, sent me a new one, after the customer support guy had me make up number as to when i'd orginally bought the product. finally recieved my 2nd headset, and after a couple of months, talk time is down to 10 min before i get the low battery beeps. called logitech again and they told me to send in my original paperwork. after speaking to the same customer support guy, he wouldn't budge and i was under the impression logitech thought i was trying to scam them. so instead of messing with an inferior product, i order a Sony Ericsson HBH-300 Akono Headset. i'll keep my fingers crossed. stay away from this headset, it's really not worth the trouble.
