A Lot of Punch in a Little Package

If you are looking for a new device on the forefront of multimedia capibilities, then this phone should definately be put under consideration.

The screen, while certainly not as big as the likes of the Sony-Ericsson S710a, is large enough, and the 262k colors displayed really show off the imaging capabilities of this phone. The camera is a 1.3 megapixel, and while there seems to be a slight bit of unexpected grain in the photos, the overall quality is superb. The camcorder really shines--the image quality is great and the sound is top-notch--the best I've ever heard on a videophone.

The MP3 player sounds pretty good; you're not going to pitch your iPod, but the quality is nice for someone who wants to consolidate devices. The provided headphones are a bit of a pain though, hopefully Samsung will come out with a more comfortable version of them. I really had no problem using the Easy Studio File Transfer Software--it's pretty easy to use. Wireless internet downloads are fairly fast using the GPRS network--I can only imagine what it's like with EDGE.

The device has a pretty robust 100 MB of internal memory--plenty for songs, pictures, and video. While some the option for some addition removaable memory like a Memory Duo or FlashCard would've been nice, the average user probably wouldn't need it.

The phone itself has great sound quality--I can hear those on the other end of the line loud and clear and vice versa. Any problems with the service would most likely be that of the network and not with the device.

Probably my own real nitpick with the phone is the size. It's a pretty small thing--not exactly like, say, a candy bar style phone, but it's pretty petite. The numeric buttons are tiny and crammed together. If you have big hands, it's something to think about.

Other than that little problem, I really recommend this phone. If you're looking for a phone crammed with multimedia capabilities and you have a little money to spend--consider this device.

Motorola USB Mobile Phone Tool Version 3.0. Includes USB cable and software
Slow & Dangerous

We have both the BlueTooth and the cable version. My comments apply to both. After loading the software the phone was not recognized by the PC. Ours are Motorola V551,s. I then updated the software over the internet, about 25 meg for each, after which the phones were usually recognized, but not always. The Sync operation is very very slow, at least 20 times slower than a Palm connected to a serial port. The program will not sync holidays, birthdays and other dates automatically added to the calendar from the Outlook 2003 contacts folder. Pictures will not transfer from Outlook contacts either.

The worst part, which is actually dangerous if your counting on the phone datebook to be accurate, is that the software sporadically does not enter the appointment that is clearly in Outlook 2003 into the datebook. The result that is displayed claims the sync operation was without errors but some of the appointments are not there. No way to tell which ones got missed. To then try to resolve the errors with the very slow sync operation is extremely frustrating. At this writing I have still not been able to get some appointments into the phone. One last point, the error rate for a recurring appointment is incredible. Several times I tried to sync a meeting that repeated daily for 5 days and filled the whole year with that appointment in the phone. I am still carrying my old Palm because I do not trust this thing. Everything shows up correctly in the Palm and of course the Palm is reading the same Outlook 2003 files.

Since writing the above another update also requiring a 25 meg download became available. Should not have had high hopes! None of the problems were cured and a new one was introduced. It decided I should show up for all my future appointments an hour early and just changed all the times in DateBook by one hour for the rest of the year. Palm is still 100% OK.

Bad signal

I got my T-610 cell phone about month ago. The signal was very bad either in office or at home. It lost signal very often at home. I had to go out to place a call or recieve a call. Or I had to go second floor and open the window for a while before I make a call.It was very frustrated because you could not use it when you need it.

Motorola V180 Phone (Unlocked)

Working for a phone company, I have seen this phone come back with problems more than any phone ever made. Motorola is the worst manufacturer. You'd think because they're such a huge company, that they'd get it right. but...unfortunatly 95% of their phones, are defective.
Common Problems:
Phone stops turning on
LCD Screen goes black
LCD Sensor stops detecting that the phone is fliped open
Key Pad stops lighting up
Antenna's come out easily
Buttons stop working.....etc (you can name it-)

My suggestion- get yourself into a samsung or a nokia, those phones last forever, and rarely have problems. I would not recommend a motorola!

Great, with only a few limitations.

Of Course, I own the ancient Nokia 3390 But, If I had a choice... I would own this...and furthermore... T-mobile doesn't suck... I have not had any problem with them... the only time you might have a problem is if you don't pay your bill ON TIME!! Which I do, and I have NEVER had a problem with service or anything... Sure, if you wanna pay out of your nose for AT&T or SPRINT... You might as well go with Verizon -- the people who CAN'T HEAR YOU NOW! Go right ahead... In fact, I have had nothing but good things from T-mobile... Like a CREDIT LIMIT INCREASE!! and they totally suprised me with it!! Let's see Verizon, AT&T and Sprint TOP THAT!

I wasn't that impressed with signal strength

I had this phone with Tmobile. I didn't get signal in a number of areas. My keypad became faulty after 3 months and I couldn't dial certain numbers. My friend had a tracfone and got signal in way more places than I did.(he has the v60i-cdma vers.) I bought a tracfone, had him send me a referral through tracfones promotional referral deal, activated the phone and got 100 free minutes for the referral. I'll send you one if you think you are going to get a tracfone instead, just email me(before you activate phone!). I have the v60i now too and I'm so much happier with it. They also have GSM phones, nokia 1100 and 2600.

No contracts, no credit checks, no hassle, no problem

I have been using this headset for years. I even bought one for my wife and she loves it too. It is very comfurtable on the ear when driving. You leave it there and pull it down a bit when you get a call. I have tried dozens of headsets and this is the only one both my wife and I like.
