Nokia 2285 Prepaid Phone (TracFone)

I have a Nokia 1100 Tracfone that saves me quite a bit of money from the monthly contracts i used to have with Cingular cellphone service. Tracfones are ideal for people with light or medium cellphone usage, so it works out well for me. The tracfone website is user friendly and makes it easy to perform functions such as activation, information gathering, or additional purchases. If you email me for a referral before activating then Tracfone will give each of us 100 free minutes!(...)

Danger Neoprene Side Pouch for T-Mobile Sidekick Phone, Black/Gray
Works well but....

Works well but the clip doesn't hold well enough. I lost my Sidekick after 5 months of ownership when I sat down at a movie theater and the case slipped unnoticed off my belt. It does seem to protect the sidekick adequately and I found it easy to use. When I get my Color Sidekick I'll probably get another one but I will stitch up the belt clip so that the only way to remove it will be to remove my belt.
Product features:

Nokia 3650 Phone - Next Generation (AT&T)
GSM/GPRS not ready for prime time

The PROs
- amazingly useful device that is far more than a phone
- the PDA features such as contacts, calendar, note pad,
calculator all work well.
- Great User Interface designed to work with one hand
- The camera is useful and fun. If you attach a photo to a contact,
then a thumbnail of the photo will appear when that person
calls, useful if you are in a meeting or driving an want to see
who is calling.
- PC Suite does good job of synchronizing. I have my laptop,
Jornada PDA, and 3650 all use the same set of contacts,
calendar, and tasks.
- 3Com BlueTooth adapter on laptop connects easily to the 3650,
and moves the large files rapidly.
- Battery life is better than I expected, given the large
color screen.
- The large screen allows for a lot of information and function.
Great for browseing mMode (on AT&T).The CONs
The version of PC Suite which comes with the phone has problems connecting to many BlueTooth adapters.
The solution is to download the latest (Version 3.0 18-Nov-2003) from the Nokia site.
Once I did this, and installed the 3Com Bluetooth USB adapter (download latest drivers from 3COM),

everything worked perfectly. In summary, the 3650 is a great phone, and so much more.

Recepiton and Signal Sucks

I have used this cell phone for about 10 months now - I highly recommend you guys DON'T BUY THIS.

it has cool looks and cool blue tooth technology. Its a cool toy, but a very bad cell phone. Its reception is very very poor. I had heard that T68I was bad, but I realized t610 still has the same problems.

I am stuck in a contract for the rest of this year- no sure what I gonna do, but I would never buy a Sony Eric phone for a very very long time.

Good phone with ok service.

Let me first say that this is a good phone. It has web service, a camera, games, and other good features. I bought a phone with Sprint. I'm kinda glad I did There service is was ok because I've had a few problems with Sprint. A lot better than my friend's Alltel phone. Here is the good and the bad.

Pros & Cons

- A phone book that lets you have speed dial up to 300.
- Instant messaging that works good.
- A fast web service.
- High quality camera.

- The web only has a few websites, but still very useful at times.
- Ringer tone downloads are low quality and sound cheesy with such a good phone.
- Games are sometimes expensive.
- Sprint isn't the best service out there. Verizon Wireless and T Mobile are better.

I somewhat recommend this phone.

very bad experience

I returned this item the day I received it, May 26th 2005 and today, July 21st 2005 still have not received my money back from Amazon. First Amazon told me I would receive my money back after 2 weeks and I am still waiting , second the seller Just Talk. Inc pretended not to know about the returned item. Amazon is great as a primary seller but inadequate and unprofessional in a third party seller. Sorry Amazon I am very disappointed in you.

Very impressive phone

This phone is absolutely one of the best phones that I ever had.
The fact that it is a global phone and it can be used all around the world (except Japan)is great. This multi-band phone has all the GSM megahertz 850/1900-US & 900/1800-Global. The camera is fun to use also. Sound and call quality is clear and crisp. Its like being on a home phone. I love this phone. Its like the old slogan of American Express...."I Never leave home without it!" Let me add that consumers are very upset with AT&T service. It is understandable why people are because of the new GSM network.
It is spotty and they are building towers to get the system up and running. It is unfortunate of what AT&T is going through because we, the customer suffer because of it. Anytime when there is a transition is service or anytype of change, there will always be a time where it will hit rough times. Right now, it a rough time for AT&T. This GSM network is very new and it is widely used in the European and Asian market. The GSM network is more advance than our regular TDMA (AT&T) or CDMA (Verizon) digital networks. By having the GSM network, it gives cell phone users more of an international capability of being reached while out of your calling area (thats if you decide you want to be reached)and more internet accessibilty. GSM is going to take time to work properly. I guess we have to be patient and wait for the glitches to squared away. GSM is eventually going to take over the cell phone world. Just like Digital when it took over analog!!

4th Phone

Well....this Samsung A670 was my 4th phone and I must say the best. No offense to Nokia, but my other 3 phones with Nokia were LAME. Each time my phone broke and all services were pretty rude at getting my phone fixed (T-Mobile, PSC Wireless, and Tracfone). My mother had recieved a Verizon phone when she switched jobs and never listened to join her plan until I started junior high school. Verizon not only has a great plan and is helpful when my mothers phone is broken, but has almost unlimited options for your phone, but back to the story....I wanted this phone really bad and my parents were worried about me switching for a 5th time, but finally they got me the phone on Christmas. The Samsung was an excellent phone, it is small, many options like vibrate, ring, or both, a great color screen and great picture images (just read the manual when you get the phone or you wont understand how to work the camera). I am also a great camera person! Anyway you can do 2-Way txt messaging and internet access. It only has about 16 polyphonic ringtones and you can download more! The only disadvantage is there are no games, but when you are at Verizon they give you they give you the option to download some when you are there or online, but otherwise the phone is great and all my friends love it. If a parent is reading this I totally recommend it to any teen who wants not only a cute phone, but one with good reception and good service. Trust me Verizon and Samsung is the phone and service for that teen and a parent who just needs a phone for emergencies!Have a great 2005 and may all your dreams come true!

disappointing waste of hardware

This phone is adequate. The reception seems to be pretty good, which ultimately is the most important feature for a phone. It's quite small, the camera seems to work well, it's got a solid feel to it, and the screen is pretty nice. There's obviously quite a bit of technology crammed into this little sucker, which is why I find its failures all the more disappointing.* No e-mail. Are you kidding me? Samsung can get a crummy golf game to run in java and get a web browser running, but it was too difficult to work up a little POP interface? Ridiculous!* No voice dialing. Again, give me a break. Makes it unsafe for use while driving.* Ringtones are not assignable, and as other reviewers have also noted, the included ringtones are embarrassing and juvenile. Further, while, yes, it is a clam shell design, it would be nice if you could assign images to callers, so that, for example, the screen could display a snapshot of whoever's calling. Not incredibly useful, but easy to do. [Edit: My mistake -- you CAN do this, BUT they don't stay displayed throughout the conversation.]* Mine, at least, doesn't get the time automatically. My last phone did. I don't know what the deal is here.* The menu system is unintuitive and cumbersome, and the keys are not distinct enough from each other. * I agree: wtf is up with the camera and its loud snap noise? As a phone it seems fine, but as a gadget I'm really not impressed. All the hardware seems to be there, which is what makes the lackluster software for this phone so disappointing. I wish I'd bought something else, maybe the sony T610.

Sony Ericsson T616 Phone - Next Generation (AT&T)
great reception, cool phone, but some major setbacks

what interests me about all these reviews written is that people complain about the camera on the phone. keep in mind you bought a PHONE, not a CAMERA. what did you expect? sure, the pictures are crummy, but sheesh, did you think you were getting a 3MP camera? what people fail to remember is these are PHONES and ultimately, should be graded on reception, clarity of calls and customer service first. the rest of the junk they throw in (ringtones, wallpapers, etc.) are just things to distract from the fact that maybe your phone doesn't perform well, or reception is lousy in your area. it just seems like too many people have the attitude, "i get dropped calls all the time, but hey, i can hear "in da' club" by 50 cent when my boyfriend calls, so i guess i'm keeping it." but hey, it's your money. however, i am also a big fan of "if it's crap, take it back".

here's my specs: i live in the quad cities, which borders iowa and illinois and have at&t with GSM. i previously had their TDMA network (which was flawless, in my area) but knew they were phasing it out, so opted for the GSM network, which actually IS getting better in our area. i live in a kind of "dead area" for cell phone providers, so sprint, us cellular and verizon all lose reception in my apartment. the GSM network is fairly strong where i live (now) so no complaints there. here's my breakdown of the T616 on at&ts GSM network in bettendorf, iowa:

* good clarity of calls, good reception. people can hear me fine and i can hear them fine. isn't this what cell phone service is supposed to be all about?
* lightweight phone, feels nice in hand.
* cool design
* seems to have enough space for pics and ringtones, should you need to store them.

* the phone SMUDGES like crazy. always looks like some snot-nosed kid got ahold of it and wiped his nose with it. sony gives you a cleaning cloth for a reason. use it.
* battery life is nowhere near what anyone said it would be. i think sony ericsson's site said something like "up to 11 hours talk time" and at&t's site said up to 6 hours or so. hardly. i have to charge this phone every 2 days or so with moderate use. i would say the talk time, at best, is 3-4 hours if all you did was fully charge it and then get on the phone for a marathon with your mother or something.
* camera is crap. kinda neat that you can assign a picture to a caller, but yeah, grainy photo not good for much else.
* ring tones are too soft and you can't turn off the "increasing ring" option, so you tend to miss a lot of calls 'cause the first few seconds of the ring are too soft to hear.
* i've had some strange behaviour with this phone like it making calls when i wasn't even touching it. still can't seem to figure that one out. i have also had people go straight into voice mail instead of ringing first. believe me, i read the manual - all my settings are correct.
* menus are confusiing. i know, we're all used to nokia or LG menus, but the ericsson menus just don't seem to make sense. things aren't where they should be and it takes forever to figure out/remember where certain features are.
* side buttons SUCK. use your key lock! i have picked up my phone numerous time to find it surfing the net or waiting to take a picture (camera was on). be careful.

hope this helps!
