When i first looked up this phone i was crazy about it,it was hard making the decision to get it,bcos the negative review was whip lashing....but when u gotta have sumthin you just gotta have it.it didnt cost me anything i got it for free from cingular since i was migrating from att wireless, the cingular CS is deplorable,i was so dissappointed why the hell did att sell?huh can someone tell me.....anyways im not here to talk about cingular, but to review my phone, ive had for for a month now and i absolutely love it,im actually editing my review from when i just had it for a week, wasnt so crazy about it then but now i just cant do without it:
MY ISSUES WITH IT:
at first i had a big issue with the battery life, thot you cant really use all the functions without the battery going dead in about 2hrs,but now i figured you have to charge the phone consistently till it gains its full limit, now i've had it for a month, the battery life is okay for me,than when i 1st got it.
i still stick with the ringtones being a joke, thats very selfish of cingular they use that as an avenue to get people to download songs while charging $2 dolls for it,well ive got news for them.....u dont have to do that people, the phone has a recorder so usually i just play songs from my computer on my mp3 list and hold the phone against my pc speakers, its records the songs exactly and then i can listen to them on my phone and also use as my ringtones,so stop throwing money to cingular, they already charge us enuff.
The mp3 player on this phone is utterly meaningless,i mean how many songs can u possibly get on it,besides it runs ths battery too,so forget it.
I hate that the phone automatically picks a call when u open it,i dont like been restricted to looking at that outer screen when someones calling,i mean i can barely make out the no#
GREATSSSSSSSSSS....................
Apart from those i like the phone i mean c'monnnnnnnnnnnn its a phone not some gizmo 3rd generation invention,i think the camera is very okay fair enuff,i like it,still its usuable,it gives u a lot to play with as well, like picture effects, frames u know all that.
i love the speaker, the volume is just right, the buttons are not as bad as they say it is,its actually okay, honestly!!
assigning of pics is cool,i see my husbands face pop up when he calls me ........,the dj stuff is another fun thing to do,when reading the reviews, the negative ones 4get to mention the cool things the phone has.
the outer body is not exactly flattering but you can order stylish covers fron sony ericcsson and dats exactly what i did now i change my covers to suit my mood,it gives the phone a whole new look, its refreshing.
the picture and video are okay for a phone, and the screen is really okay, how big do u want it...puhleezzzeee,i think its aight.
the sunlight thingy is true though, you cant really see the screen, but if u choose a darker theme and shade the screen,it shouldnt be so bad,IMPROVISE PEOPLE.
In all i just love a phone i can have fun with and my Z500a,is one i most certainly do have fun with, the size is okay it fits my palm good, and it doesnt look cheap,so if you get that from anyone tell them to wait till the get inside!!!!
In all its very durable and i know its something u'll enjoy
ciao!!!!

I got a Sony T610, a month ago from Amazon. Prior to that I had Nokia 3650.
Here is a comparison of the two phones:
1. Reception ... Sony is definately better (when compared with the same service provider)
2. Usability ... 3650 is much better (nothing beats the nokia menu when it comes to ease of use, its intutive and complete, sony is cryptic and incomplete)
3. Size ... no argument here, the small and sleek T610 is better ... though the 3650 is not as big as it looks i.e. when using it, it fits comfortably in ur pocket/purse
4. Features ...
a. Infra red, blue tooth are there on both and are just as good
b. The camera picture quality is better in the 3650. Initially i was of the opinion that camera was more of a fancy addendum ... but after having a camera phone i am never going back
c. The 3650 is a web enabled phone i.e you can browse the net using this phone (not there in T610) ... though i rarely used this feature
To sum it up, both phones have their pros and cons ... decide what factors are important to you and see which phone provides them better ... hope this helps!

I have used this phone almost 3 months.
Good:
1 Very easy to write short message
2 with a cable (about $12) you can download any picture and midi music and personalize it.
3 Very useful speakerphone, so even you don't carry earphone you still could be handfree when you drive
4 FM radio is good feature because when I ride my bicycle and don't want miss any call, I could listen radio instead of carrying my MP3 player.
5 the best point is, I could connect it to my Zire 72 by infradred port, then I could dial-up go online without internet plan. Very good. I can online and check email at anywhere in T-mobile service area, no extra charge, only use your minutes.
6 with a small adapter ($3 in wal-mart), could use my regular #2.5mm earphone which I bought before for my Samsung phone. So I don't have to buy those "special earphone" in ridiculous price.
Bad point:
1 no bluetooth but I don't care, (a adapter about $49 could let it have bluetooth actually).
2 If I turn volume a little loud, the phone has some noise which makes my ear very uncomfortable. So most time I use earphone or talk with speakerphone.
For the price and excellent performance, definitely suggest if you don't care about bluetooth

This is my third cell phone. First time with t-mobile and first non flip phone. As soon as I got the phone I put the black cover on it. It looks a lot better, but it still looks kiddish. After using this phone, I would prefer a flip phone. Since it's easy to press buttons in your pocket, I have the lock feature on. So every time I need to make a call, I have to press the menu button then star. This gets quite annoying since its easy to miss the menu button. This phone is nice but it just may not cut it some.
PRO: Good reception, durable.
CON: Feminine or kiddish looking phone.
Navgating the phone is hard.
The middle menu button is almost impossible to press
correctly with out hitting another key.
Phone may be too small for some.
Product features:
Customize your handset how ever you want - create your own cut-out back cover, or download a cut-out cover and print it out on your PC
Assign different light patterns/ring tones to your favorite caller groups and your handset lights up in tune with your polyphonic ring tones
128 x 128 pixel high-resolution color displays up to 65,536 colors with 640 x 480 pixel camera and VGA camera
Attach a photo to a contact in your in your phone book to see who is calling you
Stay in touch even when you can't talk with AOL Instant Messenger or Yahoo Messenger

I thought is was so cool when I ask for it for Christmas, what a mistake! It is too small for big hands, the sound is low, no speakerphone, the buttons are so touchy it takes forever to navigate the menus. Sometimes the buttons work, sometimes they don't, and I have had it 6 months! The Bluetooth is worthless on this phone. My old phone worked well at my office, now I am "roaming" there with this phone.
DO NOT TRUST REBATES FROM SPRINT! This is the second phone they have failed to honor my rebate, even when I save copies of everything, they keep denying it for silly reasons. Besides, Sprint service is so bad these days.

I switched to Virgin Mobile from Tracfone because it was cheaper and I could buy this phone (that would actually fit into my purse). Unfortunately, I was unable to get a signal inside my office, so incoming calls that I wanted to receive got pushed to voicemail. I don't know if that's because of the phone or the Virgin Mobile service. I also had to leave my building to check how many minutes are left (since unlike Tracfone they aren't displayed on the phone itself). As soon as you leave the coverage area, the phone stops working (unlike my tracfone, which still gets a signal 3-1/2 hours from the border) - not that I held this against this phone. The menus are annoying -> it's way too much hassle to call someone in your phonebook. I wound up switching back to Tracfone and my huge klunky Nokia because of the poor signal.

For the price, this is a good phone. I usually have a good signal. Even in locations where Tmobile does not have a much reception, I sometimes have a bar.
The camera is good for a phone. Other multimedia features are limited by lack of a USB cable and Motorolla software ($40+). You cannot back up your phonebook unless you have one of these cables. There is no voice-recorder feature.
As others have mentioned, some ringtones are too quiet to be heard in busy environments; just check to make sure you aren't missing calls if you decide to change your ringtone. Some ringtones are adequate, and you can download others or create your own using the software and cable.
Office features are okay. There is a very basic calendar. There is noplace to store addresses or random notes.
The screen does have visibility issues others have mentioned below, but those haven't bothered me that much.
Menu system is good, but some tasks (like viewing missed calls and messages) are cumbersome.
Product features:
VGA (640x480) camera with 4x zoom
MP3 audio and MPEG4 video playback
Vivid 65,000-color CSTN screen

Please note that this is about HP6315 as a cell phone from T-Mobile. It is okay as a PDA but it will make you miss your old cell phone. I, regularly, experience line drops. It does not roam well at all that when you are moving in a vehicle, it is most likely that you will not have a good cell phone service. It is very slow to find a tower to connect. Since it consumes considerable amount of power, it goes to standby mode quickly and then, when you power it up, it is very slow to get signals. Its rather bulky antenna is not doing much good since it does not have strong reception at all. T-Mobile sent field tech several times to check for signal strength in certain locations where my 6315 is weak and they say that their signal is fine.
I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND AS A PHONE FOLKS! ...but it can be usefull in many other ways, of course.
