Great Phone But Missing Software

This is one great phone, sleek, light, small, thin. Motorola got the form exactly right, just slightly larger than a credit card, and only a half an inch thick. The screen is excellent.

Motorola missed big time on this one, not including Motorola Phone Tools and a USB cable in the purchase - now how cheap is that. I just spent all that money on a super exclusive cool phone, and they make me buy software for $30? That's actually kind of crazy.

They also messed up on the phone book. 450 Outlook contacts, that were spawned from 200 core contacts - each cell phone, business, email, and home entry for an individual is a separate entry. Way way too unwieldy. They need to update this error big time. They've also missed on priority numbers - you know, you identify people you call a lot, and they go to the head of the list. I'm used to the problems now, but wow what a miss on their part.

The camera, oh it takes pictures. They look decent on the cell phone, but forget much more. The shutter speed must be very slow, you have to hold the phone solid to not get blurry pictures (when viewed on a computer screen full size) - on the phone they look great.

Overall - my nits are truely nits, this is one heck of a great phone. If you're price sensitive, buy the V500 series. If you want cool, get this one.

By the way, I'm a long time ATT customer and had no trouble (read it took less than 10 minutes to buy and activate this phone) with Cingular. In fact the service seems better. I just wish they would port over your voice mail.

Pretty Good

The V60 i loved for about 6 months then a relitive got got a Sanyo 4700 with Sprint. I laiked that much better because the voicemail told you who your message was from, aqnd the ringers sounded better and were much louder. My other complaint was major when about 18 Months after haveing the phone my antenna broke off and was lost. AT&T would only give me a refurished Nokia 1260 which was not a nice or as expensive as my phone, and would only give it to me if I gave them my V60 and a 1 Year contract. So since I only had another 6 Months I did nothing about the phone, but I went to a smaller plan and gat a Samsung A600 with Sprint and have no Complaints, because the Motorola literraly whold only work in the AT&T Wireless Location.

Really Good Phone for professionals

First of all, I agree with the other reviewers, which aided my decision to buy this phone. If you're a person that does a lot of business and makes 20+ calls a day, then you should look at Nextel or something else. This phone is for someone that needs an organizer and tool, with occasional phone usage.

There are a lot of phones coming out that can be used as a toy- Well this is a toy that can be used as a phone- and I LOVE IT! I bought a palm pilot first, but always left it at home. I had enought to carry my phone and wallet, I had no place for the palm pilot. Now I always have my info with me- my address book, phone book, and contact list are 1 list now! And even that is sync-ed up with my PC at home.

The only downsides are the need for $20 internet service (instead I just use a private ISP through the cell phone line if I need to use the net- it just uses my minutes), and the bulk of the phone, but it came with a belt clip + holster that allows you to wear it on your belt (not very sexy).

But like I said, if you're the type that uses the phone for work on locations outside of buildings, get a Nextel for the ease of use and durability. But if you work in a building and want an all in one solution, this is a neat little gadget and a cool phone.

Nothing special

In my opinion the phone sucks. The camera is pretty decent quality not the best i might add, the menus are annoying and make every action you try and perform a prolonged task, and the voice dialing is non existant. The video recorder is definatly not worth the space on the phone because it is a puny 10 seconds long and has incredibly bad graphics to the point the thing your video taping is non recognizable. The signal is ok in most places with the gsm from at&t (for once) but everything else isn't worth the money. the only time this phone is worth it is from a one day sale off the at&t website.......hoped this help!

Go for it!

I got this phone in T-Mobile's current customer retention program for very little money and no contract renewal. I was getting so sick of my old Motorola L7089, but was waiting for the right phone to come along. This is almost it but not quite but the price was right. That said this phone does what it does extremely well - way better than anything Motorola can produce. It has great battery life, FM Radio, excellent signal, hands free speakerphone (which I have to say is probably my favorite function) and downloadable java apps. What it lacks for me isn't available on one phone yet, namely GSM850 (also sometimes known as GSM800), Bluetooth and EDGE. So when the quad bands start appearing I will be upgrading again. But for now this will do.Oh and before anyone comments yes I know Motorola have announced a quad band EDGE Bluetooth phone, but its not shipping at time of writing and the tri-band GSM850 phones lack the GSM900 band which is important if you like me globally roam.

Works Great ! Nice little phone

I received this phone yesterday. Intially, I ordered the other model T616 with AT&T. There was nothing wrong with phone but my phone came with long distance number from my home area. AT&T could not resolve this issue in timely manner plus lately, AT&T customer service is at worst as their systems are down most of the time and the wait time to reach customer service is way to long (45 minutes to an hour OR sometime they dont answer the call at all).
So, I ordered T610 with T-Mobile and so far everything is great. Sorry, AT&T as I lost faith in your services. This phone has lots of neat features. I used to have Nokia 8210 model which was small enough to fit in my pocket. T610 is almost the same size and I am hoping that, it will last for long time as my Nokia 8210 did. This phone is very well designed. I am pleased with this phone. Now, Nokia has tough competition now.

Good Motorola Phone

Overall a good phone. All of my cell phones have been Motorola; from the StarTac to the V60. The color display and ring tones are great. Call clarity and signal strength are just as good as my V60. Speakerphone is great. I do not use the camera. Charging accessories for the V60 are all compatible with the V300. My cons: As others have mentioned, a call has to be connected to activate the speakerphone. The number keys are small and irregularly shaped, causing some mis-dials. The phone comes with a blue sport pouch with belt clip...looks good with jeans, not good with business attire. Overall a good phone. T-Mobile customer service is AMAZING. FYI: I like to stay with original Motorola accessories, but I purchased the belt clip that T-Mobile sells direct on their website. It is not Motorola original, but for [...] plus shipping works great. The V300 faces outward in the holster and releases very easy. Another FYI: I also purchased a V400 distributed by Cingular. ALL V400's SOLD BY CINGULAR ARE UNLOCKED. The phone is a Quad Band world phone and will work with any GSM sim card. I did my research on the web and spoke with some Cingular reps. They all told me the V400's were locked and that I did not know what I was talking about. DO NOT LISTEN TO THEM. I purchased one from Best Buy, popped my T-Mobile SIM card in, and the T-Mobile network came up. The V400 has a Cingular logo on the phone and on the wallpaper screen, but the silver casing looks cool and the number keys are great, similar to the V600.

It's good, but Eamon hates Sprint!!!

DISPLAY: It's ok. I've seen better.
VOICE DIALING: Never use it.
INTERNET: SLOW!!! Dial-up is faster!

Get this phone if yuor a ghetto flag. Most common flags own one of these, because Eamon and Akon hate Sprint. But Ashlee Simpson has Sprint so I guess it's ok.
