amazing

I got this phone only a few hours ago and I love it. I was looking for a phone with a camera and a speakerphone, it exceeded by expectations. I love the look of the phone; it's light and slim. The service is great and everything is so easy to hear. The camera works great as does the speaker. I downloaded a ring earlier thinking i was going to hear different beeps and was super suprised when I heard a bit of the actual song. This phone is great, I couldn't ask for much more.

Great Features - Poor Reception

My experience with this phone can be summed up by the heading itself. This is one of the coolest phones that I have laid my hands on, I believe it has every feature that you can imagine and a very convenient form factor. Top that with a brilliant screen.

However, the reception of the phone is very poor. I would love to blame A&T for that but my fiend has an T610 from Sony and he was able to get 3 bars inside the house while this SMT5600 got zero bars at the exact same place. Moreover, there seemed to be some hissing sound that was always in the background during the conversation. I guess all the features in the world can not make up for the poor sound quality. I have a Samsung e715 right now and this does not even come close to that in terms of reception and voice handling.

I really liked the phone, too bad I will have to send it back.

Motorola HS810 Bluetooth Headset
Good performance, but expect stares...

This headset was purchased to replace TWO crappy jabra freespeaks. This is very small, but unlike the goldlatern bluetreks or the Jabra, does not hide its mass well; it all sits right outside your ear, and in completely inconspicuous. With my old bluetrek and even the jabra, my hair hid most of it, which for me is a plus, as I do not use Bluetooth headsets to impress people or get atttention; I don't want peoples attention and questions.

Which is this headsets only drawback - it has this HUGE, BLUE ORB-LIKE LIGHT on it that takes up the whole front of the piece. YOU WILL ATTRACT ATTENTION with this headset on. It blinks in standby, it blinks when in operation, it blinks all the dang time. But, if you can get passed that, it does work pretty well. The sound is a little tinny, but pretty clear. And unlike all my other bluetooth headsets, the headset volume only operates the headset, and doesn't link to the phone volume - this means that you have more adjustability for volume level and loudness, which is good. The mic seems really good - no complaints from those on the other end, basically. And the battery life isn't TOO ugly at 5 hours. And the ear anchor could be a little more rigid and smaller for smaller ears, but it will do as long as you are not jogging around constantly.
Product features:
Bluetooth wireless technology means that the sheer convenience of hands-free communication is enhanced with total freedom of movement.
Unfold the boom microphone, place the headset over the ear and a link will be established automatically.
This universal accessory encourages users to update, change and evolve because it is compatible with all other 1.1 compliant Bluetooth wireless technology phones by Motorola and other manufacturers.
Smaller Size, Bigger Power. This tiny powerhouse is less than 5 cm in diameter when folded and weighs just 20 grams.
Increased talk time of up to 5 hours and standby time of up to 100 hours.

Ok PDA, poor phone.

The Treo 650 is the flagship product from Palmone. My review is based on a 14 day experience with this Treo.

The 650 works fine as a Palm PDA but more like entry level Zire PDA's. However one can have a better PDA experience even with mid priced PDA's like Tungsten E. The file system issues are so serious with this that Palmone is offering free SD cards (although not the right solution),
http://web.palmone.com/support/sd.jhtm l
<br />
The phone side of 650 is very disappointing given the amount of time Handsrping/Palm/Palmone have been working on the Treo series. The phone part is simply not yet ready for use as an everyday cell phone. Lots of calls get dropped even in perfect signal areas (other cell phones don't have this trouble in same areas). The battery life is nothing stellar if you use it for long calls. The reception is below average and so is the sound quality. The volume even at its max is not loud enough for most people, forget about using this in noisy streets of NYC etc.

People on the other end also had troubles with the Treo, many complained that my voice was too low on their side. Also one thought I had hung up on her, when it was my Treo that got disconnected without any warning.

The other gadget features like camera, mp3 playback etc are all secondary to me. If a phone doesn't work as a phone reliably then its no good. Constant reboots and soft resets are not my expectations from a cell phone. So I am back to my T|E + flip Samsung combo and the Treo is back with the retailer.

I feel that Palmone put all their eggs in one Treo basket and failed. They haven't made any new PDA's (apparently they are focusing their energies on Treo line) and neither have they created a working smartphone. If I were a Palmone or Palmsource shareholder I had dump them asap.

Ofcourse Treo fanboys (and fangirls?) won't like my review but truth is that this device is too expensive for it does (or claims to do). Imagine dropping a $600 device on the pavement (like it happens with most cell phones) and ending up with a paperweight? Nothing will loose money faster than this overpriced "smartphone", it costs almost as much as new entry level laptops!

Palm OS lovers would be better served by choosing a reliable cell phone and a Palm PDA. Atleast you will be able to make your phone calls!

Awesome phone

I just bought this phone 2 and a half weeks ago. However, two days after buying it I traveled overseas for almost 2 weeks so I have only used it a few days. So far it works very well, I've had no problems. I really wish there were downloadable wallpapers and screen savers but that is my only complaint. I anticipate the silver circle on the outside of the phone will get scratched off, but ya never know. In my town, I get really good reception so my calls are fine. This phone is great for anyone who doesn't mind having what everyone else has. And doesn't need a picture phone.

I highly recommend downloading the superphonic ringtones that play like real music...they're amazing!

Works with Virgin Mobile pay-as-you-go service

Good triband phone with decent batery life

I've been using this phone from the past one year. Like any other phone this phone is also not perfect, but hey I got all I wanted from my T610, it never disappointed me.

What I like :

1. Tri-Band :: Many people think that any tri-band phobe can be used overseas. Not true!. Because 900/1800 MHz GSM is standard. With support to 900/1800/1900 MHz T610 is a true world phone.

2. Battery Life :: Very good battery life - one week without charging for me. I generally charge only during weekends.

3. Reception :: Very good reception even in basement. This depends on your location too. Occasionally, between cities on the highway you may notice black spots for 5-10 mins. - Noticed it only once though.

4. Look & Feel :: Very handy and looks little geeky :)

5. Bluetooth :: Nice add-on. I love my Jabra headset.

What I didn't like

1. Sluggish Java :: Performance of Java is very sluggish. Loading of games can take 20-30 secs. (At first I thought I've to reboot)

2. Camera :: Not worth mentioning. Very poor image quality. (What else can you expect from a < mega pixel camera).

3. Memory :: Very limited memory and no expansion slot :(

4. Voice Dialing :: Doesn't work very well. Agreed, comes handy while driving. Make sure to roll up all your windows and turn off radio.

5. Joystick :: Not real joy operating it.

Overall, I think it is a good buy. Esp if you are looking for a good true world phone with nice battery life.

OK PHONE, HORRIBLE SERVICE (AT&T)

Pros: I'd say there are only a few good things to say about this phone. It is small and lightweight, voice dialing, which is nice, and a large color display with good image quality. That's about all. Surprisingly, the previous model, the T720 (Verizon) performed much better than this phone.
Cons: There are too many cons for me to list, but there are some major ones you should know if you are planning on buying this phone. When I saw the AT&T monthly plans for this phone I was amazed. I got 750 nationwide minutes a month for the price of other carriers 400 local minutes plan. Later I found out that all those minutes won't do much good if I can't use them. AT&T service is worse than you can possibly imagine. Not only that, but this phone doesn't have the best reception anyway. One time I was with about 5 people who all had cell phones from different providers. In the same spot that they had signal strengths of 4 and 5 I had absolutely no signal. If I was lucky I might get "Emergency Only" or a 1 at best. I'm so sick of this service I'm willing to pay $175 to cancel this and another $100-200 to buy a new Verizon phone. What ever you do, DON'T BUY THIS PHONE, or any AT&T wireless phone. AT&T offers incredibly low-priced plans and phones, but it's all just a gimmick. This phone has some cons also. I don't like that it has only 300k of application memory, 1-2MB would be better. The polyphonic ring quality is bad compared to similarly-priced phones. Not only that, but the ring is very soft, even on loudest volume. If I'm anyplace where there's even a little bit of noise, it takes me a while to realize its ringing. This phone, for its price, should have more features, such as a camera, Bluetooth, etc. My final conclusion, just don't bother with this phone or AT&T, I'd suggest pay a little bit more and get the LG VX6000 with Verizon, especially if you live in the Tri-State area. You can not imagine how horrible this phone is until it's too late.
Product features:
Large color screen supports up to 4096 colors (120x160 pixels)
Synchronize your Phonebook, Calendar and To-Do List
Email Text and Picture Messages
Voice Dialing, Recording, and Commands
Phone supports wireless Internet and Java downloads

Had the Samsung I 500 and traded in for Treo 600

I had the Samsung I500 for a week and exchanged it for the Treo 600 and I like it so much more. It is much easier to use and more advanced. The sound is better, web capabilities are better. Even though its alittle bit longer than the samsung it doesnt weigh anymore.
Keyboard does take alittle getting used to but it was easier to learn than I thought it was. I exchanged my samsung for the treo thinking that I would exchange back to the samsung if I didnt like the treo but after 2 hours I knew that i was going to keep the Treo.I havent had any problems with the speaker or the screen or the display. But I do have the replacement plan if there are any problems. And there are several stores in my area to take it back to if there are any problems.
Product features:
Treo 600 combines a full-featured mobile phone and Palm OS organizer with wireless applications like email, text messaging, web browsing and even a digital camera
QWERTY keyboard makes entering text and accessing information fast and familiar-perfect for messaging and a must have for email
Built-in color web browser, Blazer, gives you fast access to nearly all the sites on the web-not just the ones optimized for mobile devices
Take a picture or share images with others via email-you can even attach a photo to a phone number so you can see exactly who's calling with Picture Caller ID
Because Treo 600 runs the popular Palm OS, there are thousands of applications you can download and use-like MP3 players, etc.
