Motorola i530 Yellow Phone (Nextel)
also available all black color

Nextel and Motorola have developed the ultimate "ultra cool, super sleek, power attitude, great phone w/the i530. Not only does it have consistent great sound quality on calls, but the ability to quickly contact other Nextel friends or relatives with a single push of the Direct Connect button makes other phones "just another phone".
**By the way, the Direct Connect (2 way radio) is usable in FULLY PRIVATE mode by simply pressing 1 button. The speaker turns off, you hold the phone to your ear, you scroll to the name of the bud you wish to contact, you push the button to talk and release it to listen and NO ONE has to hear your fast Direct Connect conversation. All Nextel phones have the privacy button for Direct Connect. It makes voice mail such a waste of our time.
That is how I use my Nextel all day at work in the office, I also keep mine on silent vibrate mode for totally discrete private use.
Look at any volunteer fireman/firewoman, construction person, cop, or young Jr High/HS kid in the Westchester/Dutchess/Rockland/Putnam County, NY region: you'll see a Nextel on their belt or in their hand. It is THE PHONE where I live.
Just try one. They have so many plans you will find one you like.

Product features:
Motorola i530 is great for those who need added durability, and want other great features

Display is completely black on this phone

I've just recieved this phone on 11/29. When the phone goes into standby mode the screen display is completely black. I can't read the date or time or anything. The phone appears as if it is off. When keyguard is on, even movement of the phone does not make the back light come on. There is no way to determine at first glance if you have missed calls or messages. Has anyone else experienced this problem with this phone?

don't buy

This is a good phone indeed, I have it Sync with my imac G5 and it's wonderful.

Nevertheless the p800-900 series is a little bit old now and will very likely change soon so if you buy it now you might end up with an old platform soon. better wait.

large, heavy, fragile

This is an excellent choice if you need to do lots of email and sometimes check attachments while on the road. Also good for sms and messenger, as it is easier to input text in the screen with the stylus than with the tiny keys of regular phones. But if your needs are more about reading email (not answering it) and having calendar and contacts synchcronized with your server or PC, a smartphone or any other new generation phone is a bettter choice because of the form factor. The big size is a price you have to be willing to pay for the luxury of working confortable in a bigger screen.Agree with all the other reviews, the AT&T service is bad, but I have found that this phone has much better reception than the Orange smartphone and Motorola smartphones in the AT&T network. If you are a frequent Intl traveler, be aware this is not a tri band phone... check the networks of the places you travel more frequently before buying this.
Product features:
Combined phone & PDA features
Includes pocket versions of Microsoft Word & Excel

Sony Ericsson T616 Phone - Next Generation (AT&T)

The most important features for me were long battery life and customization. I really didnt place an emphasis on a camera-phone when purchasing.Pros:
1. Customization - Can have distinctive ring tone and image for each person that calls you.
2. Tranfer Files - I transfer images and midi files via the infrared port on my laptop all of the time. Just change the setting of the phone to "infrared" and place near the laptop, and the laptop identifies the phone immediately. No need for cables or to pay for Internet browsing capabilities on the phone. Just browse the Internet, download files to your laptop, and then transfer them over to the phone.
3. Battery Life - The battery life on this phone is outstanding! When you aren't using the phone, it goes into standby mode that puts a minimal drain on the battery.
4. Volume - Flexibility with volume control. You can make it relatively loud or quiet.Cons:
1. Pictures - Resolution of the pictures is not that great. The Samsungs and LG phones have better built-in cameras.
2. Exterior - The exterior of the phone is susceptible to scratches and nicks. It is difficult to keep the phone looking like new.
3. Screen Visibility - When out in daylight, it is very difficult to see the contents on the screen.
4. Keys are a bit on the small side.
5. Midi files - my only wish for this phone is that it played mp3's instead of midi files. Please note: If you do get this phone, do not forget to enable the "key lock" feature. This is because when you place the phone in your pocket, it can make calls to other people on your phone list without you knowing of it.
Also, I deleted most of the standard ring tones and pictures so that I can make space for the tones and pictures that I like.

Supporting Bluetooth, infrared and cable, the T616 is fully compatible with any computer. Your phone books and calendars will stay synchronized and updated

Quad 4

The best reason to buy this phone is that it has all 4 GSM frequencies which makes it great for traveling as you're far more likely to be able to make a call in a foreign country with all 4. Also being a flip phone which ends the call when you close it you don't have the risk of forgetting to end the call in Europe and getting a really big bill. As to the hundreds of teenager features I haven't got a clue but it works better than my last phone.
Product features:
Quad-band GSM phone with built-in Bluetooth
Integrated VGA camera with 4x zoom and video capture
MP3 ringtone capable
Features EDGE high-speed data network compatibility
Conference calling and integrated hands-free speaker

Poor Quality Phone

I'm on my 3rd 6610 now. T-Mobile keeps shipping me new ones because the first two shut off randomly during operation. The reception quality is awful, people say they cannot understand me. I often cannot understand them either, and there are breaks of dead air during phone calls. Key presses into automated systems are often not registered; when I call back the problem is sometimes resolved. I live in a major metropolitan area, so perhaps these issues are not as bad elsewhere. The keys are hard to press and so is the power button. I use an earpiece because holding the phone to my head causes a strange pain.
Product features:
New color screen with the "classic" Nokia 6000 series style
Mobile Internet capability
Includes polyphonic ringtones, speakerphone, and an integrated stereo FM radio
Phone book capacity for 300 contacts
Receive messages with image, sound, and text

Motorola i730 Phone (Nextel)

I have to say that this is a great phone and the Nextel service is great also.As for the review from the moron from Denver You need to have used it and the service before you open your mouth and make a fool of your self.People that review something and not have a clue just goes to show that stupid people should not breed.
I have had the I90c,I95cl and the i730 and the 730 is great as for a alarm buy a clock if you need a alarm. The screen is a little smaller but the brilliant color makes up for it,the sound is as good as the other phones I have had.
As for service I have had every carrier that is in the state of Colorado and Nextel is the best and for any one who is thinking of Verizon for push to talk well it sould be push to wait.If you want the best this phone and service is the best.
Product features:
The i730 comes with a new 65k color display with enhanced clarity that allows you to customize your screen with downloadable wallpapers, adjustable color palettes, and choice of three font sizes
Hands-free cellular conversations are always available with the built-in speakerphone
Set your phone and instantly connect to the last Direct Connect call or an assigned contact by pressing the PTT button from the main idle screen
Comes with a powerful datebook that allows you to book meetings, plan events, and set alarms that will automatically turn-on the phone if needed
Phone can store up to 600 contact entries - Store up to seven numbers for a single name

Cardo Systems scala-500 Bluetooth Headset
Best Bluetooth headset on the market! Great Value!

I purchased this headset after looking at many different units on the market. My first Bluetooth headset I purchased was a Belkin F8V9017 and it was dismal in its performance, barely lasting for one hour and always disconnecting from my phone.

So, I looked at all the headsets currently out and was settling on the Bluespoon Chameleon. However, I was concerned about having to bend the support into my ear. So, after further deliberation and strong consideration for the price point of the Cardo Scala, I purchased it.

I took it out of the box and placed it on the very small and nice charging base. I would have preferred the headset to be able to charge using my Nokia phone charger, but, for the price I decided it wasn't a dealbreaker. After the full charge was reached, I followed the instructions and connected it to my phone, a Nokia 6820.

I've now been using this headset for two months and it has outstanding performance. The battery life is outstanding. I have taken this headset on a 3 day trip, without charger, and had no problems with the battery life. The advertised talk time of 9 hours and 200 hours or so of standby is accurate.

It sits comfortably in the ear. After a little bending and adjustment of the ear piece, it is tight to the ear and face. It's volume can get very loud, which is great for the noisy enviroment. Moreover, their noise cancelling technology, referred to by Cardo as "Windguard technology for outdoor use" also works quite well. The usual sound you hear from a cell phone or ear piece if someone is walking outside and talking simply is not heard with this device on the ear.

It's operation is simple. You simply press the large outside button to connect it to the phone. You hold the button down for 3 seconds during a call to transfer the headset back to the phone. You click the headset once to activate voicetags, if you have them set up through the phone. You press once to end the call. The volume adjustment is on the back dial and is easy to adjust.

The range is about 30-45 feet without line of sight.

The only problem I have had with this unit is the ear bud. About 1 day after I had it, I noticed the ear bud piece separating from the unit. It looked like the glue to hold it in place simply failed. So, I took the ear bud off, readjusted the speaker and snapped it back into place. I haven't had any problems since then.

My co-workers have other bluetooth headsets, mainly Motorola. They compare well but do not connect as easily, do not have anywhere close to the batter life and talk time, and were twice the price.

I highly recommend this Bluetooth headset over any others on the market right now. Even if it was comparably priced with the others (in the $90 range), it would win. The fact that it can be bought at a considerably less price, makes it the "hands off" winner.

Charging time - 2-4 hours
Weight - 16.7gr / 0.58 oz - less than 1 ounce
