Pretty Good Phone

This phone is an awesome deal! The price isnt too high, and there are a lot of neat options for backlight colors, pictures, etc. Its perfect for teenagers because it is small, convenient...and prepaid. The only problem was setting it up how I wanted it. The phone itself is wonderful, but some of the directions in the manual do not work like they say they should, which can get frustrating. Overall though, this phone is a great find!
Product features:
No prepaid minutes included. Comes with battery and charger
Seven changeable backlight display colors to match your mood
External Caller ID Display: know who's calling without opening your phone
2-way text messaging, 1-touch and voice dialing
Charger included for powering up

Great Phone- Once you go Smart you never go Dumb.

I just got this phone 2 days ago, as an upgrade from my ageing T720. A huge step up. It is considered a medium to large flip phone. It is the same size as the T720 (including antenna). I do not consider it large, plus I like that it feels like a full sized phone when opened and in use. This is a business oriented phone and has the features to back it up. But the entertaining media features are why I bought this phone.

Design: The antenna that seems to go across the top of the phone may only seem odd in pictures, but is actually not. It also makes holding the phone open more comfortable. Button layout is good. And the internal screen is colorful and big (2 inches diagonally).

My only problem here seems to be that the phone's left side earpiece volume rocker is too easily changed. This only changes the level of sound in the earpiece (not speaker phone or ring tones). It is the only button that is not recessed into the phone's side. (I wish it was) Power and camera button on sides work fine. While the phones external screen turns off after a few seconds to save power, hitting the volume button quickly turns it on to let you see the time and date as well as battery and antenna levels. It's a trade off here useful and bothersome, but after a while its fine.

Features: The camera's quality is another problem for some people. It is a mega pixel camera, but its pictures lack the fine detail of other comparable camera phones. The highest resolution pics are "1280 X 960". They look fine in bright outdoor settings. Any where else and the pics quality get noticeably worse. I would not even try to use it at night.(unless very well lighted) It does have a flash, but should only be used for face shots only a few feet away. Even then at night the pics may be ok to view for awhile, and then delete.

All that said I could have typed 10 times more about how great this phone is. I just wanted to let you know what some of the problems were and how they might annoy you.

The GOOD :
+++ Voice clarity (quad band = better reception in more places)
+++ Speaker phone (loud and clear)
+++ Windows Media Player 9 (allows mp3 and video playback) I can watch recorded TV from my PC on the player and listen with the speaker phone. Just use "Windows Media Encoder 9", and their "Pocket PC" setting. It can even encode clips taken with my Canon camera. (Note: the larger or longer the media the longer it will take to encode.) Runs clips at 259KB per second. Look fine with little to no lag. (4 min clip = 6.5mb) Clips can be run sideways in full screen mode. There are no fast forward or rewind options.
+++ Easy sync with PC (Sync calendar, contacts, task, inbox)
+++ Bluetooth (I haven't used this feature yet)
+++ Mini SD expansion (now available up to 256mb, soon 512) great for packing in music, video or pics from other sources.
+++ Runs newest version of Microsoft Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition.

The phone works great, plays mp3's and video. This alone will justify the cost. The fact that it is a smart phone means that there are many more applications that can be added to this phone. (check www.handango.com for more) This makes it more that worth it, this is a great phone.

Product features:
Compatibility with Windows Mobile applications (Pocket Outlook/Pocket Internet Explorer)
64MB Flash ROM and mini-SD removable memory for extra storage
Link your phone to your PC with ActiveSync or Bluetooth
Fully synchronize your email, calendar, contacts and tasks
Built-in 1.2 megapixel camera with flash

A great little phone for the price

I've never owned a cell phone before. I finally broke down, and I got a really good plan. All in all, I really like this phone. But I can't understand how Sprint is allowed to just nickel and dime me to death on this thing! For instance, lots of people are raving about the amazing voice command feature on this phone. What they aren't telling you is that this is NOT a feature of the phone. It's a service that you have to pay an extra $5 a month for from Sprint.I got free internet for the first 2 months. I decided to download some fun ringers and screensaver things. Now, this is the part I can't believe is legal (and for all I know all cell phones do this). They charge $2-3 for each ringtone or screensaver or whatever. Now, we're talking about 30 seconds of a song, a song you can download from napster for 99 cents (also a ripoff). But the incredible, hair on fire, insane part is that you don't own it. You RENT it. After 3 months, it "expires." Can you imagine? You don't ever own it, even though the prices are highway robbery.Oh, also, if you decide you don't want to pay $15 a month for worthless internet service (trust me...it's like time travel to 1994 waiting for your email to appear), you'd better cancel it quick. Because you can't cancel it immediately. Sprint makes you wait until the next billing cycle. Unless there's 3 or fewer days left. Then you have to wait until the NEXT billing cycle after that. These are the kind of things that consumer protection laws are written for. For all the RIAA's bluster about "intellectual property," I'm wondering why I have to buy songs I already own to use them as ring tones; and I don't get to keep them! One helpful feature on this phone is a memo recorder. Now, logically, I should be able to just record a song using this recorder to use as a ringtone, right? Wrong. It's impossible.Don't get me wrong, all in all I like the service. I got free PCS-to-PCS calling, so I can call my girlfriend for free. In general I like the plan. But, like, I downloaded Asteroids yesterday. I could have sworn it said the licence was unlimited. But when it got to my phone, it expires in a month! On top of that, the game is terrible, worse than the atari 2600 version. I'll admit I haven't tried, but I assume if I call Sprint and tell them I'm not satisfied with it (or the incredibly terrible, compressed, unlistenable version of "Back in Black" I downloaded), they'll tell me too bad.Which hardly seems fair. I'm forced to buy things sight unseen (they even launched a website just for games where if you're interested in buying something, you click "buy," and it then downloads the price to your phone. There's NO other way to find out the price!!!). I'm sorry, but this is unethical. They're just ripping off teenagers who don't know any better. I guess I don't get it. Why can't I upload my own songs, pictures, ringtones, games? Why does Sprint have a monopoly on my phone? I bought the phone, isn't it mine? Anyway, it sounds great, it works great, it's light and I love the screen and the ringtones that are included. I downloaded Tetris and solitaire and they work great. It's so small I can't believe it.I like it. But I don't like the way Sprint treats my phone like it's actually still theirs.

This tri-mode, folder-style CDMA phone sports a large color screen and other top features
Compatible with Sprint PCS ergonomic game pad
Large LCD color screen features 65,000 colors (128x160 pixels)

Can't do better for the plus 200 in rebates

(...)Using the app, I was able to upload/download ringtones, themes, backup my address book, delete unwanted files on the phone, etc, straight from my computer keyboard, without having to touch all those tiny buttons on the phone. I'm 6'4", and those tiny phone buttons are a pain for me sometimes, but I'll live with it, as the rebates are giving me free phone service for 5 months. Plus, T-mobile will let get you the 1000 minute plan for 40 bucks, how cool is that? Pretty good, you don't get rollover yet, but I'm sure they'll get something comparible to Cingular soon. Like all cell phones, your reception is dependent on the phone and the towers in your area. I have only one bar reception at my house, and I'm able to have decent converations all the time with only a few dropouts. I recommend this phone and service.
Product features:
Large 128x160 pixel 65.000 color screen
MMS for composing messages using images, sounds and text
Supports Java and Mophun platforms for the widest range of mobile games and applications
Supports Bluetooth, infrared and cable for PC synchronization
With a built-in 319 x 288 pixel camera and QuickShare software

Pretty Good

I purchased this phone arter owning several pre-paid models. The pre-paid phones worked for me, but increased need for my cell phone as I moved to a college campus led me to purchase the Motoral v300. The phones most distinctive feature is it's textured blue casing. Motorola says that it is grippy, but that isn't why I'm impressed with it--the grip factor is minimal. It is very stylish, and I like the fact that you can drop this phone a few times--although I don't recommend it--and the textured blue casing will not get scratched. The color screen and camera are nice additions, but I'm not primarily concerned with them so I can't make a judgement on their quality. The phone's reception is ok, I live on a college campus so I don't expect to get reception everywhere. People with other carriers sometimes get reception where I don't, and I often get reception where they don't. One pet peeve of mine is that when I'm coming from an area where I don't get reception into an area where I do get reception, it takes a while for the phone to reestablish the reception. I can be walking from a basement to an open room or outdoors, and it may take a little while to get reception again. This one drawback is annoying, but if you like all the other features of the phone, it's noting too serious.
Product features:
Tri-band GSM capability
Large color display features 65,000 colors
Built-in VGA camera with zoom
Supports text messaging and wireless Internet (WAP 2.0)
Comes with 35 ringtones and supports MIDI and MP3 formats
