Plantronics M2500 Bluetooth Headset
Plantronics M2500 against the Motorola RAZR V3

I had a previous generation Plantronics with a Sony T68i phone, and had the same kinds of problems that people are reporting for this model. In all honesty, I think it may be a matter of how well Bluetooth is implemented on the phone.

On the Motorola RAZR V3, I have NEVER had any problem. I have clear calls, and people can hear me clearly. I can leave the phone on my desk at home and walk around the house (about 45 feet of distance), with no problems. Voice dialing works (a function triggered by the M2500, but available based on if your phone supports it.) I can hang up calls, and transfer calls from the headset to the phone, and phone to the headset with no problems.

I will recommend, however, that you keep the headset charged. I have not run into any battery issues on this headset, but on my previous generation Plantronics, I had all sorts of issues related to a dieing battery. (Callers could not hear me, or I would sound staticy and distorted).

I generally conserve battery life by not leaving the headset in standby. (Turn off when not using). If I am waiting for a call, I will leave the headset on, but if I take the headset off and put it in my pocket, I'll shut it off. If someone calls, I'll answer my phone, then transfer the call to my headset if I think that I will be talking for more than a few minutes.

In any case, I believe this headset is worth a try. I'd probably shy away from using this as a Bluetooth headset on a computer. (I've yet to find a stable bluetooth implementation on a Windows machine), but if you are considering this for your phone, I'd give it at try.

Product features:
Bluetooth wireless freedom
Up to 5 hours of talk time, 120 hours standby
Easy to use controls for volume, mute and call answer/end
SoundGuide™ earpiece for comfort and performance
Compatible with Bluetooth devices supporting the headset or hands-free profile

Poor picture quality.....speakerphone issue

I bought this phone in January when I was trying to find a quality picture phone for my job. From the many online reviews I had read, the V300 seemed to fit the bill. Well, I would not recommend buying this phone for its picture taking capability, as I find it to be well below average. I did not realize just how poor the picture quality was until my brother-in-law visited and we compared phones. He has a Samsung VGA1000 picture phone with Sprint PCS. The picture quality difference in these two phones is like night and day. The Samsung phone pictures are much sharper and have better color than the V300. I also find the speakerphone function of the V300 frustrating, as you cannot activate it until a few seconds after the other party answers, not when it starts ringing. If you are looking to buy this phone for picture quality, I would suggest looking elsewhere.

Nokia 3660 Phone (T-Mobile)

My friend and I traded phones because we have T-mobile so all we needed to do was to switch SIM cards. Unfortunately, someone ran over my phone so I was presented with what seemed like a fairly nice Nokia camera phone.

For the first couple of weeks, I enjoyed the camera and video options. I could access websites, but it does not offer AIM. After a while, the rotary numbers become annoying to use when trying to save someone's number when you just ran into them and have no time to talk.

The size is also inconvienent. I can compare it to a remote control. My friends actually joke about it. It's a common topic when someone first sees my phone. When you don't want to carry a purse or a bookbag, carrying it in your back pocket, or any pocket for that matter, it weighs down your pants.

The battery life is fairly decent. It lasts for 2 days tops.

All in all, I would have to say this phone is a hassle. It's not for fast-paced people, although it offers many options like a calendar, the internet, camera, and a converter calculator. I have seen many other phones that offer these options and are much more convienent. I also do not think the money is worth it for this Nokia. Save your money for something like an iPod, and go with a Samsung.

i90c Review

The i90c phone is very functionable for me. It's small enough to throw in my purse or leave on my desk at work. What I like best about the phone is the Voice Record function. When driving all I have to do is say the name of whom I want to call, leaving the cover closed and this activates the speaker and the phone dials the number. I don't have to take my eyes off the road to call out on my phone. I just have to start talking when the connection is completed. The clarity of the speaker is amazing and I've been told the other party has no problem hearing me. With my nights and weekends I can call my out of state sister and talk up to 3 hours at a time and I use the speaker and lay the phone done and can move around the room and do other things at the same time. I love it.
Over all - the phone is very user friendly.

Good phone-but be careful with the camera button

This is a very handy cell phone. It has a ton of ring tone extras, the keys are easy to use and after a short while, you will be able to figure out how to navigate through for messages, files, etc.

One area of concern though is if you are not careful, you can accidentally turn on the camera. This can be avoided by not holding or picking up the phone from the sides. The phone is a sleek version of Samsung's earlier flip phone. I had my previous flip phone for years, so this one is a little more delicate, yet still quite sturdy, having an alloy base and not plastic.

This is a digital dual mode phone. I have had fewer dropped calls and verizon has been a very good network for my needs. I do not usually utilize electronics to their fullest capacity, although I have taken some great snap shots with the camera feature. What is cool, you can create your own slide shows.

Most recently a warning went out about downloading ringtones, etc. This phone seems to have canned ringtones for anyones liking. The battery the phone comes with has a fairly good life, however, after you charge it and you unplug the charger the system lights up.....I wonder how much power is used for this, and I wonder even what the intent is that it does so.

The display is great, however, in the sunlight it becomes obscured and if you are on a call more than a minute or two the display goes blank to preserve energy, which although good, makes you have to press keys to get the view screen.

Again, I like my flip phone. I hope that it has the life that my last one had.

Verizon though will make you send the phone to Georgia for repair, so you could be without a phone for awhile.

You can also get some neat accessories to go with this phone.

Perfect for Parents and Teens

This phone and the Virgin Mobile plan is terrific! The phone is small and robust. It has most basic features - but no games. I had a look at all the phones on the Virgin Mobile plan and this is my favorite so I bought it.The Virgin Mobile plan is spectacular. If you are a casual user, it only runs you about $7 a month to have a phone. But, better yet, if you have a teen, it is a great way to teach responsibility. Instead of a Family Plan, where your kids use up all the minutes then rack on more, Virgin Mobile allows you to put a set amount on the phone each month. Then, if your kid uses it all up, make THEM pay you to add more. It has worked out great with my daughter. In fact, she has twice lost the phones and had to pay for new ones herself (that is why I have seen the different phones). We are easily able to freeze the account until she buys a new phone then transfer the money to the new phone. She was more upset last time about losing the phone than I was - realizing how much she was going to have to save to get a new one!

No prepaid minutes included. Comes with battery and charger
Seven changeable backlight display colors to match your mood
External Caller ID Display: know who's calling without opening your phone

T Mobile Problems

I signed up for T Mobile service in Dec 2004. Not one week has passed that I did bot have a service issue. The Motorola V300 phone was swapped 4 times. All 3 returned phones were "lost" by T Mobile. I was billed $212 each time. After numerous phone calls and LOTS of time and disconnects, they "found" the phones and issued credits. My voice mail system is often full of static, can't hear a word of the message, no indication of new messages waiting or sometimes I get a notice that messages are waiting but when checked, nothing there? The sytem was reset 3 times, still not working. Offered to rest it again??? I asked to be released from my contract since they can't get my service working correct after 6 months. They told me "sure, but it will cost $200". I now drop my plan to $19.99, throw my phone in a drawer and let them steal another $100 from me! The worst customer service I ever dealt with. Always sorry, but do nothing. Refuse to escalate to a higher division that might reason with my issues, a few wanted to argue, hung up on me, and reminded me to "read my contract again once we get off the phone" BEWARE!!!

Jack of all trades, master of none.
