Motorola Car Charger for V300, V400, V600 and Nextel i30-i95 Phones
OEM for $8.99?!? I had to do a triple take

First of all, I'd like to say I'm frustrated--I paid full price for mine. Hence, when I saw the price, I had to do a triple take to make sure I wasn't looking at a generic version. If you're getting a car charger, make sure to get a Motorola OEM version. I talked to a couple people at Nextel and they said the generic ones are dangerous. Quoting the Cincinnati phone tech, "I've seen hundred's and hundreds of phones fried from the generic chargers. The fuses are screwy and the wrong voltage hits your phones. I even saw a lady stick her phone between the seats of her Caddy using a generic one and it caught the seats on fire and melted the phone."Another tidbit I learned from the tech. Only charge your battery in the car when it's down to 1 bar. Try not to make a habit of throwing it on the charger every second you're in the car. The specs on the Lithium Ion batteries from Motorola are about 500 recharges. Then the charge it holds starts declining. When you charge your phone powered off, it uses 1 recharge that night. When you charge it powered on, it scrolls through the charge cycles and shortens the life of your battery.Best of all, Nextel warranties this charger. Take it in if you do something stupid and break it--they'll give you another one no questions asked.Lastly, the cigarette lighter OEM is a 'rapid charger' using DC current. It will charge your phone from completely dead to full charge in 45 minutes if you have the phone turned off. Just thought you'd like to know.

LG VX4600 Phone (Verizon Wireless)
very good phone with only minor drawback

pro: solid, cool looking, much better than VX4500, nice material and workmanship, cool external display, loud speaker and microphone , people say they hear me better than T-mobile Motorola V300, very loud ring tone (good and bad), strong vibration(good and bad). Desktop charger make charging handy. Real Aluminum front cover looks very cool.

cons: screen is dim for today's phone, screen look like a cheap phone, can not compare to V300. not many good ring tone, no game, ring can be too loud and often scare me when it rings. Vibration is so strong, when place on table it make very horrible noise. Very common for today's phone, the clip exposed the phone for scretch. I prefer the pouch belt clip like the one come with Motorola V300. If you want this phone, better buy a leather cover or a aftermarket pouch that fits. Pouch from V300 is too big for this phone. After 2 week of use, I already scretch the cool looking front cover. phone get warm after 15 minutes of use. You can only get this phone online, such as I bet this phone cost more to manufacture than the Vx4500, and look so much better than Vx4500, so they don't offer it in the store. They want people see the bland Vx4500 to buy more expensive phone.

Cool clamshell design, high-resolution internal color display
OEL (Organic Electro-Luminescent) screen make an undeniable statement of style.

Best thing since microwave popcorn....

I've had my Sidekick II for three weeks now, and carry it everywhere I go. It has so many things to keep you in order. I take notes with it in class, schedule events in my calendar, and make a To-Do lists. Not to mention you get unlimited text messaging, internet browsing, AIM, and E-Mail. The camera is not as bad as some people make it seem because it does the job for the occassion. I dont think I will ever go back to having a regular cell phone just because I have so much fun with this one, and hopefully T-Mobile will create a Sidekick III.

Such GREAT potential... Falls just short!

I picked-up the SMT5600 from the Cingular/ATTWS National Business Office and was very excited to receive it the next day via FedEx... From all the reviews that I read, it was quite the unit -- best form-factor, top technology, and a value-laden feature-set that has been unseen yet in the Smartphone world.

The SMT5600 definitely delivers on two of those three points. The unit looks very tech-sexy - small, compact - with excellent overall styling. Its screen is absolutely beautiful and is a pleasure to view. Even its smaller buttons and the much-talked-about D-pad weren't an issue to me in any way. In fact, I adjusted to them very quickly.

Certainly, the combination of WindowsMobile 2003 + Bluetooth + Speakerphone + Great Battery life (I would consider myself a pretty heavy user of both voice and data... Charged the unit once every 2-3 days) speaks for itself.

** READ! ** If you use your phones in noisy environments (airports/offices/cars/downtown streets), you will find it quite difficult to hear callers in your earpiece on the SMT5600. Even with the volume maxed-out all the way, I'd say that this unit only gives 60-70% of the normal volume I could get out of a phone such as the Treo 600 or Motorola V60. The call CLARITY was fantastic (and the caller whom I was talking to could always hear me), but it simply wasn't loud enough.

Before you make your purchase, do yourself a favor and read the AT&T Audiovox Support Forums . As you'll see, MANY users are reporting this problem - and as of 12/16/04, Audiovox or Cingular has no new firmware to solve this issue.

Because the most important part of any Smartphone is the PHONE itself, I couldn't give this model a rating higher than 2 stars. Straining to hear every conversation was a constant bother while owning this phone and was the single-largest issue that lead me to packing it in its box and sending it back to Cingular.

Such a shame -- SO many great features, SUCH great potential. It just misses the mark on the most important thing: being able to hear a phone call!

Not perfect, but I like it

Reading the other reviews, I agree that the Nokia Audio Manager is not the best software in the world. I can't get it to reorganize tracks, and unless you keep pressing buttons to keep the screen on the phone lit up, it does freeze up the computer while trying to load songs on it. That said, why am I giving the phone 4 stars? Cause I like the sound quality, the features, and the customization ability, which to me are the basics of a phone. Once you have do the songs uploaded, the music player is easy enough to use, and you can use normal bud earphones to listen if you think, like I do, that the enclosed headset appears rather fragile. The stereo quality is nice on the music, and I've not had problems being heard even on a busy city street with the enclosed microphone headset, which fit me just fine. It also has all the bells and whistles including ring tones from mp3 files, and I think the speakerphone is quite loud. You just have to not cover the speaker holes located on the lower back of the phone. And it also depends if your cellphone is your life. I'm a casual user, so I like it just fine.
Product features:
Highly functional phone comes with a FM stereo radio and digital music player/recorder that supports MP3's
Features a music key which lets you access your music at the touch of a button
Comes with a full keyboard to make messaging quick and easy
Large color display supports 4,096 colors
Supports E-mail and Internet browsing

Jabra EarSet WindUP with 2.5mm Universal Headset Jack
like the winder, but poor sound quality

Con: I am disappointed in the poor sound quality of this device. Peoples voices are muffled and hard to discern. It sounds as though everyone is talking with a hand over their mouth on my end, but I have had no complaints about how I sound on the other end. Maybe the mic is good and the speaker bad, or maybe I've just got a defective product.

Pro: As the winder goes, I like it a lot. It is small and lets you put the whole thing in your pocket without tangle. This winder works like a miniblind. You pull both ends of the cord out a tad, then it retracts. I've never had a problem operating it.

This comes as a disappointment as I had a good experience with my last and similar jabra earbud - sounded good, and fit well - much better than my 'body glove' (too big for my ear, fell out constantly, and hurt) or my 'plantronics' (would always fall out, impossible to put in in time to answer a call).

Product features:
Sensitive, uni-directional microphone delivers consistent sound no matter how you move
In-line WindUp with built-in clothes clips offers lightweight, tangle-free ease of use
Retractable cord winds compactly to fit in the palm of your hand, a pocket, briefcase or purse
EarGels channel sound into your ear for reception that outdoes your handset
With the 2.5mm Universal Jack, this headset works with most phones (except Nokia phones)

Samsung VM-A680 PCS Video Mail Phone (Sprint)
Very Very Good!!!!

This is a great phone. Only major concerns are that the ringer is not as loud as intended however all my calls so far have been crystal clear as sprint advertises. The reception on average is 3 bars. In hard rock buildings I get 1 bar or I am roaming (although my plan covers roaming charges). I did notice that the phone gets hot if you talk for more than an hour or so. As for some comments about the light being on during charging.... THATS BECAUSE YOUR USING THE TRAVEL CHARGER! you need to buy the desktop charger which is EXCELLENT! takes like 10-20 min to fully charge an almost dead battery. So invest your money into this phone it will be worth it.
Product features:
Tri-mode phone with Video recording capabilities, dual color display and VGA camera with flash
65,000 Color LCD displays give you life-like quality
VGA Camera takes photos @ 640x480 resolution.
Records video clips up to 15 seconds each in M-JPEG format
Includes phone, rapid travel charger and user documentation

Not Ready for Prime Time...

I bought this phone expecting that the hype was true, silly me. I feel like a Verizon Technician, CAN YOU HEAR ME NOW???? I sat in a parking lot to do a conference call and had to dial back in 12 times over a 45 minute period, dropped with full signal for no reason...Cool features, but the service (AT&T) bites badly... Also, I think the extra charge for data transfer is a bit over the top.
Product features:
The Motorola MPx200 Smartphone does it all by combining all the functionality you need into a single, pocket-size package
Windows Mobile software brings the familiar Windows experience to the palm of your hand
You can synchronize everything with your desktop PC -- automatically -- with a USB connection, or over the air
Functionality allows you to download music, games, video clips, and ring tones

i605 Nextel

I have my likes and dislike. First the dislikes. For a phone that is suppose to meet military standards, if really feels cheap, expecially with the extend battery cover that come with the phone. This cover is plastic and makes the entire phone feel cheap. When using the keys, there is also a cheap clicking noise made each time you enter a digit. It has MMS compability, but you need someone with the same phone to use it. Cannot take pictures (not a camera phone) but it has an option for picture id. Likes, there is diffinitely an improvement in the signal strength compare to my i730. Overall size of the phone is nice. LCD screen is very good on the eyes (I wear glasses) If you purchase a data base service, you can send email right from you contact list. And the automatic sleep modes helps save battery life.
Product features:
Extra large screen (262k colors, 176x220 pixels, 2.2 inch diagonal) is optimized for outdoor use with enhanced clarity for reading text, graphics, and phone icons
All weather and rugged design certified to Military Standard 810 F for dust, shock, vibration, temperature extremes, low pressure, and solar radiation
Direct Connect enabled - the walkie-talkie service that instantly connects you to all other Nextel users
GPS feature allows you to view your approximate location and when making 911 calls helps emergency personnel to locate you
Voice-activated dialing for your frequently used numbers
