It only gets more annoying

I won't say there aren't any positives to the phone, but there are some annoying features of the phone that get more annoying.

Slow and clunky interface
The joystick doesn't help -- it never seems to understand down vs. center push when you want it to. Don't expect to have some flexible ways to call or view contacts.

Speaker Location
I've needed to put the phone just at the right spot on my ear, otherwise I can't hear the sound (which is pretty good when you can hear it)

Random Feedback
If you have your stereo system on, you'll get some feedback and think you'll have an incoming call. But no, your phone's causing feedback for no reason at all. Don't leave this phone near your monitor.
Product features:
Built-in CommuniCam digital camera
Bluetooth enabled; infrared support
PC Synchronization using SyncML over WAP
Instant Messaging client - Yahoo, AOL, and ICQ supported

I HATE this phone!!!!!!!!

I bought this phone last April and unfortunatly got one for my husband at the same time. I have had constant problems with the charger not charging and have got through about 5 chargers so far. I finally have no charger and neither my husband or I have a working cell phone. I resent having to go to the store and buy one every month or two! Also the reception is terrible. I like the speaker phone ( 1 star) but that is all. The dealer who sold me the phone made out like I was doing something wrong with the phone but my co worker is having the same problem and I have also discovered a class action suit against them for charging problems. Don't get this phone it is awful!!

External display allows you to view text without opening the phone

Great stylish case with unexpected features

I received this case for Christmas and, while it did take a week or so to warm up to it, really enjoy it. It gives the phone a new look while protecting it too. It has a clear covering stitched in for the PTT button on the side, as WELL AS the buttons inside for dialing and the external and internal screens. No glue or sticky points needed, the inside plastic flap somehow adheres perfectly to the screen without using glue or other residual adhesives, something of concern to me. It does need to be wiped with a cloth once a month or so as dust and little bits of things build up on it. A friend commented to me she likes how the buttons are protected inside, hers started to wear off and get gunk around them after two years of use. There are holes for all the external buttons and hookups. SInce its genuine Motorola it fits well. The gray around the edges does fray and show slight signs of wear after a few months if you pocket it rather than clip it, as I have on occasion. The belt clip was an added bonus. THe 360 swivel does loosen up after a month or so and the phone can rotate around quite easily though never in any danger. The clip holds better than the factory gray holster clip that came with it. As an added bonus, it covers the scratch on the front too! If you're looking for a stylish change for your compatible Nextel or need a little extra protection, I'd check this case out - if you expect a regular case you'll be very pleased and should last as long as your phone if not more! Enjoy and God Bless!

Mathilda loves it.

I like my phones like I like my super-model walk offs: The first phone walks, the second phone imitates and innovates. Well, Samsung isn't imitating anyone with their innovation.

Whether you are teaching kids to read good (and how to do other things good too), or if you're eugooglizing your best friends after a freak gasoline fighting accident, this phone will work for you.

You'll never be late for a show, or a nice prime-rib of Micronesia dinner with Samsung's built in calendar. It even reminds you when to go to the daye spa. D-A-Y-E.

So next time you have to choose a ridiculously, ridiculously good looking phone, choose this one.
Product features:
Compact flip design with high resolution 65,000 color display
External color display for caller id screening
40 tone polyphonic speaker for detailed, high power ringtones

Pretty Great... Probably a Year Away from Awesome

I'm holding in my hands both the new Palm Tungsten and the Handspring Treo 300. I upgraded from the 270, as it has been my experience that GSM is horrible at best, at least in the LA area. Sprint customer service is truly abysmal -- my service has been suddenly turned of for non-payment TWICE in the FIVE DAYS I've had this unit. It takes a long time to talk to an actual person, and the website is often down. However, coverage has been great with Sprint, and that's the most important thing. The new Vision plans are great -- unlimited web browsing and email, and good deals on minutes. THE BEST THING about the phone is that I finally only need the one gadget, instead of having to grab my Palm and my cell phone. And it works with OSX, while the 270 did not. Syncing has been easy and consistent, and I can actually hear people talking on the other end (the 270 was impossibly quiet). THE WORST THING about the Treo 300 is the lack of SMS text messaging. I really don't understand how it could be missing... apparently you can receive but not send. And receiving has been very inconsistent for me, but at least that should be fixed eventually with revised software. Color is nice, and the resolution is OK to browse and look at photos with, but once you've seen the Tungsten screen... well, if you're considering the Treo don't look at a Tungsten screen. It will just make you depressed. If this had Bluetooth and the Tungsten screen, it would be a perfect product. But because it combined my two most used gadgets in one elegant, functional design, I'd have to say it's the best gadget I own. Ok next to my iPod. Ok after Tivo.

Mixed bag

I've owned this phone for about three months. Pros: Lightweight, can synch w/ Outlook Express, speakerphone(great), headphone, polyphonic ring tones, voice recorder, to do list, good sound from earpiece, side volume control, internet capable, fm radio(only accessible through headphone, voice dialingCons: Poor reception (in part due to At&t gsm network), occasional SIM card errors, occcasional no service errors, will not work in some rural areas, small keypad buttons, games, phone case hard to findIn spite of the pros I give this phone an average rating due to the poor coverage of the at&t gsm network. They should have gotten the bugs out before they rolled out the service. I replaced both the phone and the sim card and still have the poor reception and sim card issues. Also couldn't find the nokia leather case so am using a small erickson that fits great.Three stars.

Too many problems

I recently moved back to the east coast and into sprint coverage. Having carried a PDA and phone for many years, I promised myself that when the time came for a new phone, I'd get a PDA/phone. After reading the reviews, I decided on the i500. I really liked the size and design (more like a phone than a PDA) but was disappointed and ended up returning it after a week. I had used a PALM before but most recently have been using an IPAQ with Pocket PC. It was hard to go back. It took me awhile to sync the i500 with my computer. The Palm software is an older version and I found the syncing not nearly as intuitive as working with my IPAQ. Also, the phone itself wasn't very powerful and I had to go outside to get and hold a signal. (The replacment phone works inside very well). I could've put up with the above problems but the final flaw was an inability to sync at work. My work computers have the newer version of PALM already installed and would not allow me to remove it. This caused the newer version to compete with the older version that came with the phone. I was able to load the older Palm OS with the help of a system administrator but was only able to successfully sync once. Also the computer (both at home and work) had difficulties recognizing the USB cable. I had to install and uninstall the driver several times. After spending hours trying to get this thing to work, I went back to my IPAQ and exchanged the i500 for a non-PDA phone.

Siemens CF62T Phone (T-Mobile)
Serves what a cellphone should, and does it well

I have owned this phone for 3 months and find it solid, robust, compact. It provides all the basic functions a cellphone should, without bells and whistles.

The Look: The unique, edgy appearance differentiates this phone from all other girly/roundish flip phones. If you are a guy like me who hates all those sissy flip phones on the market...

Functionality: (1) Automatically switches among GSM 900/1800/1900MHz. You will find this practical if you travel to Asia or Europe a lot. (2) The Calendar function is really well designed. It reminds you almost all kinds of events: "Memo", "Call", "Meeting", "Birthday", and "Anniversary". I especially love the "Call" function, once you set it up, the phone reminds you at the time you need to call someone. And when the alarm rings, all you need to do is to press the dial key and it dials the number automatically for you!! The "Meeting" can be set as different recurrence mode. for example, daily, weekly(individually m,t,w,th,fr), monthly or annually. Pity that the manual is poorly written so you might need to spend some time to play with it.

Talk Quality: This is what i take most seriously when it comes to cellphone. Who cares how many pixels the built-in camera has (i don't care if a phone can take picture anyways!), or how exciting the built-in games are if a phone can't do the basic things right: make and receive phone calls! For this, I give CF62T an A+ on the voice quality. Remember the good old times when we still use analog corded homephone (with respect to cordless)? CF62T almost has a sound quality like that.

To conclude, for its cost(i upgraded my handset directly from T-mobile for about $100), i am pretty happy with this phone. It does everything i need for a cellphone, with a little plus(the style and the practical calendar function). I would strongly recommand this phone to the smart buyers with practicability and style in mind.
