PCS Phone palmOne Treo 600 (Sprint)
It seems to be the perfect balance for me.

One thing I've learned is that all handheld devices (and cell phones) are based on a compromise between price, features, size, etc. You just have to find the one that doesn't compromise in the ways you intend to use it.

For me, the Treo 600 has been perfect. Web browsing, remote control of PCs, email, and having my contacts & schedule with me always has been perfect.
Product features:
Treo 600 combines a full-featured mobile phone and Palm OS organizer with wireless applications like email, text messaging, web browsing and even a digital camera
QWERTY keyboard makes entering text and accessing information fast and familiar-perfect for messaging and a must have for email
Built-in color web browser, Blazer, gives you fast access to nearly all the sites on the web-not just the ones optimized for mobile devices
Take a picture or share images with others via email-you can even attach a photo to a phone number so you can see exactly who's calling with Picture Caller ID
Because Treo 600 runs the popular Palm OS, there are thousands of applications you can download and use-like MP3 players, etc.

Small size, cool features

Some of the features that i have liked on this phone
1. Small size - much smaller than Nokia 3650
2. Nice ring choices. I dont go for the fancy tones so the old phone tune is a good addition
3. Syncs with my outlook contacts, calendar etc very well and reminder can be set to vibration only
4. Decent memory size
5. really like the golf game on the phone
6. Last but not least - calling card dialing feature is very good as i buy lots of calling cards for international callsSome small negatives
1. Camera is useless which i think is the same for most phones out there. Get a digital camera if you want to take good photos
2. THe menu is a little difficult to traverse. Its not as intuitive as one would like it to be.Overall a good phone and a good buy
Product features:
Large 128x160 pixel 65.000 color screen
MMS for composing messages using images, sounds and text
Supports Java and Mophun platforms for the widest range of mobile games and applications
Supports Bluetooth, infrared and cable for PC synchronization
With a built-in 319 x 288 pixel camera and QuickShare software

Motorola V600 Phone (T-Mobile)
Nothing special and needs some improvements.

There is nothing great about the Motorola V600. It's pretty much a typical cell phone with some features that are supposed to make your life easier. I've had this phone for over a month now and here's what I've discovered I hate about it. My biggest gripe with the V600 is the side buttons. When the phone is closed, the side buttons are still active, and they change the ring style. Since I carry it in my pocket, I've had plenty of instances with the ringer being turned off, to vibrate, or to loud accidentally. This is a huge usability flaw in my opinion. Normally the side buttons are inactive when a flip phone is closed. Not the case here.

Another problem area is the phone book. I can't believe they make new cell phones that can't store multiple numbers with a single name. I have one person in my phone 5 times (home1, home2, work, cell, and pager). This is really annoying when trying to find names. Furthermore, when storing to the SIM card, you can't store additional information like Category, Voice, and Picture. You can only use these features when storing to the phone, which defeats the whole idea of a SIM card in that if you change phones, you need to reprogram all the numbers again.

One aspect of the phone I did end up liking was the design aesthetics. It's a pretty cool looking phone and the external display glows blue. It also has three rings around the Motorola logo that glow when the phone alerts you to a call. However, the choice of material here is questionable. The back batter cover is a stamped metal piece that is extremely slick. I've literally dropped this phone when my hands had a little moisture on them (remember I live in Arizona). So I like what it looks like, but not what it's made out of.

Other features that this phone has are a calendar, web access, Bluetooth integration, calculator, voice recording, camera, video viewing capability, and instant messaging. These features all work fine, but once again, there's nothing special about them. It seems that Motorola designers spent most of their time and energy in creating a phone that has completely customizable menus. You can rearrange menu items and configure hot keys to do pretty much anything. The first thing I did was set my configuration to my liking, but have not changed them since, so all the time and effort spent developing the interface was pretty much useless for me after the first hour.

The reason I chose, and plan on keeping, this phone is because my brother works for Motorola and it was the highest-end phone that he could get for free. Guess I got what I paid for. I use my V600 on a T-Mobile account. So to recap, if you have other choices when it comes to choosing a phone, it might be a better idea to get the other phone. There's nothing great about the V600, but if you just want a phone to make and receive calls, it works just fine. Sound quality, included accessories, ring tones, and battery life are all up to par.

Product features:
Colorful customizable external display
VGA camera with 4x digital zoom
Integrated Bluetooth for wireless data connectivity
5 MB internal memory for downloadable applications, ringtones, wallpapers, and photos
Large 65,000-color display with video playback

Audiovox 8910 Flasher V7 Blue Prepaid Phone (Virgin Mobile)
Awesome phone...!

When I found out Virgin Mobile was coming out with a camera phone all I could say was "hell yea!". Finally a camera phone on a pre-paid services plan. The v7 Flasher is great, not only for the camera, but for all the extra features I wasn't really expected. Superphonic ring tones, Wap brower, great battery life, great reception, and it's even smaller then I`d first though (the exact same size and weight as my v5 slider).

The camera again is my main reason for wanting this phone and after testing it out under many different conditions it doesn't disappoint. The quality wonderful for a camera phone, and the process of sending pictures to your friends is a snap. You can send pictures either to another camera phone, to your virgin mobile online account, or directly to an e-mail address (doesn`t work with gmail, I`ve tried). One thing that pleasantly surprised me was that you can even take pictures while the phone is flipped closed and the small external screen acts as a viewfinder.

My only gripe with this phone would be the overall look. There are so many sweet looking camera/flip phones out right now that this one just doesn't compare. I'm differently not complaining cause I love what this phone does and how well it does it, but if there were something I could change the look would be it.

All n' all this phone is a must have for anyone looking to upgrade to the camera phone generation and not have to sign a contract.
Product features:
Built-in camera with flash
Opens with a flip
Full-color screen
Superphonic (real music) ringtones

Not bad

I mean how can I complain... it was free with my service!

Overall it is not a bad phone... it has plenty of options like text messaging and all that fun stuff... It has voice dialing (you know when you just say the name and it calls the person) if you feel like setting that up... A nice address book feature that allows you to store several numbers under one name and label them with cute icons like a house for home phone and a little cell for mobile phones etc...

Sometimes it freezes up (kinda like computers) and you have to remove the battery to get it to work again!? What do you expect for free though?

Major complaint: WHERE'S SNAKE??? I miss it! But there is a cute bowling game on it!

It's a phone... it serves its purpose. It does not take pictures, but then again that's what cameras are for!

Send and receive messages with image, sound and text

Samsung X427 Phone (Cingular)
Ehhhh.....

I am on my 3rd X427. For the past 4 months, I have had nothing but problems. My first the phone would freeze up, and the buttons would be pressed randomly. My second phone, when I was on GRPS, it turned off and when I turned it back on it said "Phone Locked, Return for Servicing" and The 3rd time, the phone turned off, and even when I held the power button down, it would not turn on. After changing the battery 2 times, and having it work for only a few days, I said enough, and brought it back to the cingular store.

A Great Cellphone!

So far I have not had one problem with my cellphone. In fact I have had better reception with this phone than with my previous cellphone. Many people complained that their reception was bad with this cellphone, but my reception has improved! Another reviewer also complained the phone took bad pictures. Well, the pictures aren't that great, I'll admit, but its a cellphone, and cellphones don't take great pictures. I love that the phone has a colored external display, which also shows the photo caller ID. This is a great cellphone, and while it might not be the best cellphone out on the market, it certainly has a lot of bang for your buck.

Ultralight VGA camera phone with dual-color displays.
Java Capable, 65K color TFT LCD Screen
40-chord polyphonic ringtone compatible
VGA Camera takes photos at 640x480 resolution

good phone

good phone, camera is pretty good, it zooms up to 2x which is groundbreaking as far as i know. also the reception is way better than my previous phone the sony ericsson t306. the external LCD is a great help for a few seconds before its turns black. although u cannot change the pic on the external screen. it will show battery, time etc. its pic. caller ID is a great help. although when texting my thumb starts to cramp up unlike the t306. wonderful as to the fact that it supports java apps. all around it is good solid phone, i agree w/ the guy next to me. the games need to be full, althought when going to nec.com, to download games they send you a website on your phone to go to, but cannot access it through your computer and i cannot figure how to search on Mmode. so...anyways beside the games, the phone is good phone, w/ currency converter, and calc, and datebook and so on and so forth, i would assume good for a person travleling the world. also if anyone can help me w/ the voice dailing i would love it! thnx! would defenitely recommend it to others!!!

Motorola i80s Phone (Nextel)
A great quality, but very outdated

This was a fantastic phone 3 years ago, and while it still has that high level of quality that makes Motorola so great, it is very outdated at this point. Without a color screen, a camera, a calculator or calander, this phone isn't good for much more beyond calling people. It has a strong signal with great audio quality, but it doesn't even have any games (oh no!) So while I wouldn't be too hasty to get rid of this phone if it still serves you well, I also wouldn't run out and buy this phone new.
Product features:
Lightweight, sleek design
Speakerphone function for hands-free calling
Includes Java-powered applications
Wireless web enabled
Includes 750mAh lithium-ion battery and travel charger
