Audiovox 8500 Vox Phone (Virgin Mobile)
Impressive

First off, let say that the customer service is EXCELLENT! Best by far I've ever come across. It was almost midnight when I called, and once I got past the voice activated robot (just screw up what you're supposed to be saying and it redirects you to a real person almost immediately), I couldn't believe how friendly and upbeat the person on the phone was. Activating and programming my phone took 5 minutes. It was beautiful. As for the phone, it's just nifty! It's small, it's compact, and it's relatively easy to use. It looks nice, it's got great reception, and it comes with a prepaid, no strings attached plan. What more do you want?
Product features:
No prepaid minutes included. Comes with battery and charger
Seven changeable backlight display colors to match your mood
External Caller ID Display: know who's calling without opening your phone
2-way text messaging, 1-touch and voice dialing
Charger included for powering up

Its awsome size but reception sux

The Sony Ericcson T226 is an awesome phone! My service with AT&T works great in the Omaha, Nebraska area! The only problems are that the buttons are very small. The m-mode is very good, altough customer service is a pain, when sometimes you have to wait more than 1 hour to talk to them. I like being able to download polyphonic ringtones and games on mmode. I hope you should try it. If you are budget-crunched, this is the phone for you!
Product features:
The T226 showcases a large color display
Supports multimedia messaging, e-mail, and Internet browsing (WAP 2.0)
Features polyphonic ring tones and the ability to download games from the web
Comes with three games - Ace of Spades, Deep Abyss, Five Stone
Included with phone is a Battery, Standard Charger, and Headset

Tracfone

The tracfones are good for people who don't require heavy cell phone usage. Basically you have to keep the phone active by buying month or year cards. If you run out of minutes then you have to buy more of those too. They have a referral program so if you email me at turshen34@hotmail.com before you activate the phone they they will give both of us 100 Free Minutes.
Product features:
Candybar-style digital prepaid phone
Simple-to-use navigation buttons and graphical screens
Large 5-line screen
Changeable faceplates allow personalization
Up to 180 minutes of talk time and 200 hours of digital standby time; includes charger, 10 free minutes upon activation, and $100 bonus airtime offer

Kyocera Slider V5 MTV Edition Phone (Virgin Mobile)
Virgin/Sprint coverage very poor.

I currently use AT&T Free2Go and a Nokia 8260 phone. I get 5bars (max) signal strength at home, and 2bars at work. Virgin Mobile's rates are WAY better than AT&T and Virgin is also the only company offering an inexpensive prepaid phone with color and tons of features. I was a little reluctant to buy this phone, because EVERYONE in my area has told me to stay away from Sprint due to terrible coverage. Their coverage map for my area shows service only along major highways! Virgin uses Sprint towers, so if Sprint coverage is bad, so is Virgin. I took the chance, I bought this phone. I wanted it so bad. Unfortunately, all the people telling me to avoid Sprint were absolutely correct. I get ZERO bars signal strength at home although there is a signal. If I extend the antenna, I might get 1 bar. At times, it peaks at 2-bars. At work, I get no service! The phone is constantly "Searching...". This isn't going to work for me, I need to get calls and text messages at the office. For this reason, this awesome little phone is going back.As for the SE47 (Slider V5) itself, I LOVE the phone. The ringtones, color display, size, blue illumination, features, appearance... there's nothing to dislike. You can play with this phone for hours and keep finding new stuff that it does. I found the buttons to be easy to push, I had no problems at all hitting the buttons and I'm a 5'11" 215lb guy. This phone makes my Nokia 8260 look like junk. I saw on the Kyocera site that there's even a USB data cable available for this phone to sync with your PC. I wish I could have tried that. It greatly saddens me to have to return it. Poor carrier coverage is the only reason I gave it 4-stars. If there was decent coverage and signal strength in my area, it would definitely be a 5-star phone. If you're lucky enough to have good Sprint coverage in your area, BUY THIS PHONE! As for me, I'm stuck with my Nokia until AT&T gets a clue and starts offering cool phones like this, or Sprint builds more towers in my area.
Product features:
No prepaid minutes included. Comes with charger.
Unique sliding design - phone slides open with the push of a thumb
Full-color screen
Downloadable, polyphonic ringtones and vibrate alert
2-way text messaging, 1-touch and voice dialing

Jabra EarBud for phones with Universal 2.5mm Jack
Simply ... dreadful

I've owned three of these bad boys in the last six months. The serious design flaws aren't simply manufacturing errors. The most common problem, the earpiece unit comes apart quite easily. This generally causes the unit to break entirely as the wires disconnect from the earphone. Most commonly, I've had complaints from callers that the headset makes me inaudible or fuzzy sounding. I've switched to a different brand. I liked the Jabra ear gels, which I found comfortable. However, the shortcomings in the quality of the headset makes this a choice of which to be wary.

ok with at&t, but better with t mobile

All around this is a great phone. It has great features such as bluetooth and great camera quality compared to my E715. The phone was ok with At&t service. After unlocking the phone used it with Tmobile, calls were alot clearer and picked up reception where at&t couldn't. Overall this is a great phone, the software on the phone is still a little buggy, theres a slight delay when trying to pick up an incoming call.
Product features:
Use the colorful customizable external display to identify specific calling groups and events.
VGA camera with 4x digital zoom, large 65,000 color display supports video playback
Integrated Bluetooth for wireless data connectivity, quad band operation allows use on GSM networks worldwide
5MB internal memory to support downloadable applications, MP3 ringtones, wallpapers, and photo storage

Great Phone! But!

This is a great phone. It is small and lightwieight and does just about everything I want in a phone. The speakerphone is nice and loud on both ends. My old Audiovox CDM9500 had a speaker phone but I had to yell into it and the other party could bairly hear anything. This means that you can answer the phone on speaker phone and continue cooking and talking at the same time by placing the phone on the counter.
I was disappointed in the reception around my living area however I found that the hiss I was hearing in the earpiece is from WIFI interference. I don't get this hiss when using the speakerphone. I purchased the phone for the ability to run apps like Quicken or MSMoney but they don't run on a smartphone only on a Pocket PC. The smartphone apps available for this phone are limited. The screen is great but the camera is always dark even when set to night mode. I am finding that this phone doesn't switch to the best signal tower unless you lose the signal completely even if there is a better signal from a different tower nearby. You can manually change towers though. All the apps seem to always be located on the last page so you have to scroll through a couple of screens in order to get to the programs. The last quirk is that this phone doesn't have a qwerty keyboard so you have to type using the numberpad. This can be time consuming if you write a lot of messages or email. At least I didn't have to purchase a data plan at $49+. You only need a mmode plan which costs a maximum of $24.99 for unlimited data usage.
Product features:
World's smallest Windows Mobile Smartphone
Call, email, text message or instant message - all from one integrated phone
Email, contacts and calendar sync seamlessly with your PC

Sony Ericsson T610 Phone (T-Mobile)
Stay away from it.

I have had this phone for 14 days and I'm already fed up with it. I'm a gadget person, I love the bluetooth feature about this phone and the fact that I can just play something with my keyboard and drop it in the phone's "sounds" folder and vola, I have a new ringtone.

Here is the problem, you can't use it with phone cards, basically you cant punch in too many numbers without it slowing down too much to the useless point. Say you need to check your bank account. You call the toll free, you start punching your 16 digit number. You comlete the 16 digits but the phone is not! Halfway through, your bank systems responds "that is an invalid card number" and quickly shuts up to wait because your phone is still sending the last 3 remaining digits to your bank. Basically you can't use it with phone cards sine you need to dial a 12 digit or so phone card PIN number, then dial your destination which in my case is 15 digits so the phone completely stops.

The phone freezes for no reason. The black buttons froze on me tonight and even removing the battery did not work. All the other buttons were working thought but useless. I couldn't turn the phone off using the button either.

I am actually on hold on the Amazon's secret (800) number which T-Mobile ended up giving it to me. I couldn't find it on amazon.com. I have been on hold for 15 minutes already.

Want secure corporate email to your Treo

To all-I have been reading the reviews and I to love the device, I dont know how I lived without it- but some of you are using eudora mail and others- WHY??? it is not secure and it is a store and forward solution- people take it from an Dir.of IT use JP Mobile software, www.jpmobile.com, these guys have an encrypted behind the firewall solution and they support all devices- palm, pocket pc, rim, symbian and any wap enabled phone and you can synch real time with the corporate server your email, contacts, etc.,- anyway the device is great the but the headset is terrible- get a different one.
Product features:
Treo 600 combines a full-featured mobile phone and Palm OS organizer with wireless applications like email, text messaging, web browsing and even a digital camera
QWERTY keyboard makes entering text and accessing information fast and familiar-perfect for messaging and a must have for email
Built-in color web browser, Blazer, gives you fast access to nearly all the sites on the web-not just the ones optimized for mobile devices
Take a picture or share images with others via email-you can even attach a photo to a phone number so you can see exactly who's calling with Picture Caller ID
Because Treo 600 runs the popular Palm OS, there are thousands of applications you can download and use-like MP3 players, etc.

Great phone, but don't use AT&T.Use Sprint PCS!

The New-Age Treo's are the best smart devices ever made! I have used the T-Mobile Sidekick, the AT&T Motorola MPX, a Nextel Blackberry, a Samsung i600, and even an older style Treo in the form of the Treo 300. And out of every smart device I have ever used, the Treo 600 and 650 are 1000 times better then any of them!

1# The Treo's have large color screens with full keyboards, but are still small enough to fit in your pocket.
2# The battery life is insanely long! Both of the new Treo's claim four to five hours talk time, I have found even longer. I often lay in my bed at night surfing the web for hours and hours, and by the time I am ready to go to sleep, my Treo 600 and 650 still have enough battery life to go a few more rounds.
3# Because the Treo's are so popular the prices for accessories, software, add-on's, ect are Much cheaper then those for the other types of smart devices on the market. There is even talk by Palmone to start using Linux as the Palmsource software core, so there will be even more software available. And because Linux is open source, the phones will eventually be cheaper then those running the Microsoft Pocket PC. With the added bonus of the dependability of Linux!
4# Because the Treo's are of the Candy-Bar style design, they are much easier to talk on. Because there is no flip, or antenna to fumble with.
5# There is a software lancher called "ZLauncher" which has many features for your Treo's software interface. One of which allows you to see the exact level of signal strength. By using this tool you can so how much better the Treo's antenna and related components work, compared to any other phone on the market. I get a great signal with Sprint, but with Sprint and my Treo, my service is even better! I get signals with my Treo in places where my Sanyo and LG did not. In fact, I get better signal strength with my Treo, then my friends get with their phones!
6# Palmone has a patent on a new design of smart device that they are working to bring to the market. A design nothing like the designs currently available. A PDA phone that will be thinner and still able to have a large full color screen and keyboard. SO the next generation of Treo's will be even better!

The only downfall to the Palmone Treo's today, is price. That is because they are still new to the PDA phone market. Once they start making more and more phones, the prices will come down. And once they restructure their PDA manufacturing and company purpose in general, the prices will come down. I don't normally write reviews on phones, because I used to be a Die-Hard Motorola phone fan, and I guess still am. But if Palmone keeps making phones this perfect, then I will only buy their phones for the rest of my life! I can not say enough good things about these phones! Try one and see what I am talking about. Use it with Sprint PCS's $10 unlimited Visions access!

Russell
