Great Phone!

I have used cellphones from approx. 10 years. The Toshiba VM4050 is one of the best ones I've used. I was hesitant to go from a solid one piece design to the "flip" style phone.I was surprised at this models durability. The camera and video features are nice. The only drawbacks are the fact that the phone does heat up quickly and the battery life is not as long as some other models
Product features:
VM4050 offers a built-in video and still camera, which can take and send VGA images or 15-second clips
2.2-inch TFT main screen offers an ultra-high-resolution main display (260,000 colors)
Comes with built-in Speakerphone: Hands-free operation of your phone is made easy with the built-in speakerphone
Offers picture caller ID so users can instantly tell who is calling without opening the phone
Features include a built-in speakerphone, voice control and voice guidance, which means the phone talks to users to inform them of important events

Features good - battery bad!

As a network admin, I was asked to provide 15 of the bosses and administrators with smart phones. After much investigation, we settled on the Audiovox xv6600. We've been using them for two months now and the results have been mixed...

The good -

Wireless sync works great with Exchange server and does provide a nearly real time connection to the office and critical data from Exchange. The internet (which goes full broadband in about 4 days in my area) is also a very useful function. The ability to read Word and Excel docs has been well received. Finally, the bluetooth function is useful but buggy.

The Bad -

The battery on every single one of these units will not make it through the 8 hour work day - even if the unit is never removed from it's pouch and used. In fact, about 7 of them will not make it past 2.5 hours! The functions are great, but when the unit is unuseable due to poor battery performance, you have to question it's value. Incidentally, Audiovox still has no enhanced battery available.

Additionally, my users have to perform resets (sticking the stylus in the reset hole) at least once a day as the phone function 'hangs'. Sometimes the unit times out while trying to dial out (even with a full signal). The unit will then not receive or send calls at all until you reset it. This problem is probably more attributable to the phone software operating on a Microsoft based operating system or possibly due to the wireless sync function.

Finally, the Bluetooth wireless headsets are great while they are working. In fact, mine works great on my regular (nonsmart) phone. But the xv6600 often needs the headset to be reinstalled or randomly chooses not to allow it to answer calls. But I attribute that to the burden of the Microsoft operating system it resides on. A challenge my nonsmart phone does not need to overcome.

Finally -

The xv6600 is a good idea, but it has a lot of bugs and creates a ton of support tickets for us. All in all, I'd be satisfied with it if the battery could just last all day. The other issues are ones that Windows users get used to after a while and learn to live with (freeze ups, nonreponsive programs, etc).

Fabulous little phone!

I have service through T-Mobile, and so far, super service and a great working phone. The camera phone works great for me and I think the pictures are very good quality. The reason I got this phone is that it is a flip phone. For some reason, the Sony-Ericsson cell I had previously (an "open-face" phone) would never unlock my keys in time for me to answer a call, so I stopped locking them. Well, I made lots of calls un-intentionally, so I thought a flip-phone would be great (and I am pretty quick about whipping that puppy open). I have had the phone for about 7 months now, and it looks as good as the day I first got it. The buttons are a good size for me, and I LOVE the speakerphone feature. It is a small phone, so it doesn't take a lot of room. The one thing that is annoying, which other buyers have noticed, is a tendency to reset itself. My phone doesn't reset itself, but it has switched to silent mode a couple of times, and I never use silent mode. I have had TMobile service for 2 or 3 years now, and I am pretty happy with it. My calls get through, I don't recall losing any calls, and I love the coverage.

Tri-band GSM capability
Large color display features 65,000 colors
Built-in VGA camera with zoom
Supports text messaging and wireless Internet (WAP 2.0)

A Great Little Phone Packed With Features Of A Big Boy Cell

I was not prepared for such a small (phone) but it is packed with all the features, except for "voice recognition" that my (Nokia 3595) had.

But the phone is easy to navigate the keys, I love the "voice recorder" feature, and also I selected it as it is closely similar to the features of the (Nokia 3595).

Love the PDA / Hate the Phone

Before buying the SX66, I was a believer in pen and paper. After the purchase, however, I have fallen in love with my PDA. Let me high light the pros and cons for you:

Pros:
* the speaker phone. Wonderful!
* the ability to synchronize all my information on my PC using Outlook
* being able to show digital pictures
* the ability to listen to music without using headphones. Sure the sound quality is poor, but it is still a nice feature
* the easy access buttons for everything
* the ability to check e-mail anywhere
* the familiarity of Windows

Cons:
* The phone quality is terrible!!!! Please listen to me: If you need a phone that is clear, that won't drop calls, that is comfortable to use, and that will not anger every caller you talk with, don't by the SX66. Siemens help desk even admitted to me that this is the devises plaguing problem.

Product features:
High performance 32-bit Intel PXA263 CPU, 400 MHz with up to 64 MB flash ROM, 128 MB RAM
Unique slider design, QWERTY keyboard
Connectivity provided by WiFi (802.11b), Bluetooth®, USB, and wireless data transfer via infrared interface (IrDA)
Cingular Xpress Mail Suite provides real-time access to your corporate and personal email

Works for me!

I needed a car charger for my Nokia phone but did not want to pay [$$$] for one at the celluar stores. The cord is a little short but this is fine with me since it still reaches the passenger seat or the cup holder. It serves its purpose. It's nice not having a long cord in the way. Thanks!!
Product features:
Plugs into cigarette lighter port to power the handset
Automatic cutoffs to prevent overcharging battery
Extendable cord for mobility while charging
1-foot cord length
Compatible with Nokia 3650, 252, and 282 phones, and 5100/6100/7100/8200/8800 series phones

SAM530VPC- not very durable

I have only had this four months, and the little pads that you push in to facilitate insertion of the plug into the phone body for car charging have broken already!
I am taking it back and complaining about the junky engineering. Other than that, it worked well! We will see if Verizon exchanges it for free....

A very satisfying gadget

Threading my belt one day, arranging my gadgets so they wouldn't fall off or poke me on my commute, I came to the conclusion that my Batbelt factor had grown unacceptably high. I shopped around for a PalmOS or Windows phone that was a clamshell design - important, since I'm an abusive user - with an external LCD, and found at the time that my choices were the very expensive Samsung i500 (Palm OS) and the stunningly cheaper, smaller, and sexier MPx200 (Windows).

This is one of the most satisfying gadgets I've ever owned. Still the smallest Windows phone except for the candy-bar-style Audiovox model being offered by Cingular, it does not lack for expandability or power. There is a ton of software available to fill in pretty nearly any functionality hole you might find, and longtime cellphone users will be happy to see that right out of the box, the phone happily syncs up with Outlook - the end of tapping out your contact list/buying the inevitably expensive cable with each upgrade. In as many ways as possible, it offers interoperability e.g. by having, rather than a special proprietary link cable, a standard Mini-USB connection to the PC, and a standard 2.5mm jack for its headset.

It does have its shortcomings. The worst is the lack of Bluetooth; the second-worst is that the SD card slot is for a memory card only, instead of being SDIO. Coming right behind that is a usable but unimpressive battery life. I understand that an aftermarket operating system upgrade can improve this last, but certainly can't recommend trying that at home, as it would almost as certainly void your warranty.

That said, I use my MPx200 as an eBook reader, a PDA, a phone, an instant-messaging device, a gaming platform, and even an MP3 and movie player, all to good effect. I can't over-stress to a prospective buyer of a Windows phone the importance of a really huge SD card, because you'll find something new to do with your phone every week for months. You know that guy who buys a 128MB card, and then a month later buys a 512MB card because his claim that he'd "never even use 128 MB on a cell phone" was way off the mark? Don't be that guy, and you'll be happy.
Product features:
The Motorola MPx200 Smartphone does it all by combining all the functionality you need into a single, pocket-size package
Windows Mobile software brings the familiar Windows experience to the palm of your hand
You can synchronize everything with your desktop PC -- automatically -- with a USB connection, or over the air
Functionality allows you to download music, games, video clips, and ring tones
Watch videos, news clips, and film trailers anywhere you go
