I bought it...why wouldn't I give it 5 stars?

(...). ALL wireless carriers have many many areas across the U.S. that a signal is hard to get. I live in Detroit and have a GREAT signal. Just because you live in a soft signal spot, stop cutting down your carrier. If you don't like it, move or get a new carrier. Now, about this phone....its great. Pretty simple to pick up and figure out without looking through a 250 page manual. Battery life seems to be quite good. Ring tones are pretty lame...be ready to download new ones. The phone is well made and solid. The camera takes pretty good pictures but if you bought a phone to take pictures that you really care about, you will be disappointed (with this or ANY phone). Bluetooth is really cool...a bit impractical...but cool. (...). All in all, I think its a great package. (...)

Jack of all trades...

This was my first cell phone purchase, and I've been absolutely delighted with it. Using the Hotsynch feature, I can import my appointment calendar and my contact list (this has been a real lifesaver). I can surf the web (the keyboard is small, but functional). The speaker phone works better than I expected. The games are great. Everyone I show it to likes it, although the phone is bigger than some people are accustomed to. Try it, and you will probably love it.

Great phone, too bad it's with T-Mobile

This may be a really cool phone, but it's not worth it with T-Mobile. They have the worst service of any of the major companies. I really regret signing up with T-Mobile, but I'm stuck with them for the next 6 months of the contract. If you're looking for a new company, don't be fooled by the service plans. T-Mobile's minute plans are cheaper for a reason.

Just purchased this phone with T-Mobile service. Ex-Sprint user. So far, coverage is good. As far as phone goes, it's descent. Nothing spectacular. The size and weight are great. Light. Small. Interface is pretty good. Fairly easy to navigate around with. Flip portion seems a little flimsy though. Biggest complaint is quality/volume of speaker. Very hard to hear because of mainly lack of volume. Speaker phone feature works fairly good. Screen is average quality. Since phone is new, not very many extras. Cases and such.

Overall, it's a good phone for the money. Tri-band is great to have if you travel a bunch. Again, it's small and light weight. Fits in pocket nice. It is ALL plastic though. Not sure if it could take a fall from ear height!!

This Phone Is HORRIBLE!!!!!!!

Having been a sprint customer for years I have had numerous phones. The one thing I learned... Samsung Phones aren't built to last. First, every time you buy one you have to buy all new accessories. They are not interchangeable. Sanyo phones are. I bought a Sanyo 5300 and it worked great. After a ton of wear and tear the screen went out, and ERP sent me this phone. After 1 week I was in the sprint store trying to give it back. It was dropping calls, my wireless web wasn't working, and everybody I talked to said it sounded like I was chewing on the phone, or in a tunnel. Whenever I would try to save a number I would be halfway done and the phone would just jump back to the main screen and I would have to start all over. Then the antenna bent, IN THE TUBE MIND YOU and when I tried to straighten it, it popped off!! I haven't had the phone a year yet and I finished talking on it and i tried to hang up, it wouldn't close. I have to play with the cord to get the phone to charge. And the battery only last about 45min. if that talking or not. When ever I am travelling and I go through a dead zone, when I get out of it I have to turn the phone comepletely off then back on to get a signal. I would not recommend this phone to ANYONE!!!!

Motorola RAZR V3 Phone (Cingular)
Exceeded my expectations

It seems clear to me that many of my fellow reviewers of this product were short-changed. I, contrastingly, love this cell phone. It would appear that the fault does not lie with the phone itself, rather with Cingular.

I'll cut right to the chase. This phone is sleek, attractive, sexy, the ultimate cell phone. At 33, I have been waiting for this phone since back in the day when Motorola's phones were the size of one's head. The screen is hot. The sound is crystal clear. Ring tones are easily downloaded. Pictures are what you would expect from a gadget whose prime directive is not as a digital cam, rather as a cell phone. Secondary functions remain just that, secondary. Despite this fact, the picture quality is clear, and pictures are easily downloaded to your pc.

Think of the V3 as the Delorean of cell phones. My opinion has always been, regarding cell phones, that if it doesn't fit in my pocket (without bulk), I don't want it. At 5'6", and 30" waist, I can easily slide this phone into any one of my Levi's pockets.

Unfortunately, many preceding reviewers got jipped. I bought the V3 overseas, and even the packaging was impressive. It came in a gorgeous metallic box, matching the V3's exterior shell, and it included the following accessories (no joke): LEATHER CASE (soft, superior quality), CHARGER, USB CABLE, USB CD-ROM, EARPHONE HEADSET, and MANUALS. I must add, of course, that I purchased the V3 unlocked, i.e., from no particular carrier.

CONCLUSION: I could discuss the beauty of the V3 ad nauseum; rather, ladies and gents, I'll leave you to your decision. I hope that my opinion has helped you place the preceding reviews in perspective. Enjoy!

Great phone, but a little thick

I got this phone a few weeks ago and I love it! Here are the pros and the cons:

Pros:
-Very good camera for a phone
-Dropped it many times and nothing has happened to it yet
-Has a good style with the black on the front
-Nice screen
-Easy menus (LG is good at making simple menus)
-Swivel lens
-Sound quality

Cons:
-Pictures come out bad without being in a well lit area (but all camera phones are like this)
-Flash doesnt really do anything, it has to be pretty damn dark but it still doesnt really help with the picture
-The phone is a little too thick for me
-Video is mediocre
-The banner for the front screen doesn't work, but I really dont care about that as long as the banner for the main screen is working
-No speakerphone (I have no use for it but I thought I would warn someone buying this phone that wants a speakerphone)

Overall this is a great phone.

Chic, Stylish and Technically Perfect

I bought V600 a couple of months back. While the phone looks great, it does have a few issues. V505 is an upgrade. Motoroal has fixed a number of problems in this cellular phone and made it easier to use.
Most cellphone users like me are concerned with few major functions in their instrument. This review will answer your questions regarding most these frequently used features:

1) Looks: I found V600 more stylish than this new model but that doesn't mean that 505 looks bad. It actually looks great too but just a little bit less chic than V600.
2) Camera: Like all cell phone cameras, it can click decent pictures. Don't compare these to the pictures from your digital camera. Cell phones pics do not have very high resolution. They are for namesake only.
A little mirror placed just above the LCD screen on the front of the instrument lets you click self pictures accurately.
3) Video Camera: The V505 allows you to shoot short, few second long videos. Once again, the video cannot be compared to one taken by your sony camcorder, but it is decent for having fun as it records sound too.
4)Large LCD screen: The camera has 2 LCD screens, one on the front that lets you view the ph. number of incoming call and current time without having to open the phone, and other on the inside which is the main screen and shows your pics, videos, history, ph. book, games etc.
5) Java Enabled: Yes. You can download games, ring tones and other cool stuff into your camera!
6) Text Messages: Fully capable of accepting and sending text messages. If you don't know, your friends on yahoo messenger can send text messages to your cell phone for FREE!
7) Bluetooth enabled: You can sync up the phone with other BT enabled devices. Really cool feature
8)Internet Enabled: Needless to say, it allows you to surf the web and send emails.
9) Voice Dialling and Speed dialling: Numbers stored in your phone (not SIM card) can be dialled using voice commands.
10) Auto Answer feature: I like this the best. I can setup the phone so that if the headset is plugged in, it will auto answer the phone after 5 rings (or 10, whatever you want). This way I don't have to open the phone while i am driving! I can just put the earphone in my ears and start talking once i get connected!
11) Speakerphone: Another great feature if I don't have headset available.

CONCLUSION: If you can, go for V505. It is very inexpensive with most ATT/Cingular plans and provides best value for money.
I hope you will like it as much as I do.

What? Huh?

All the good stuff you've read about this phone is true. I have only one issue with this phone. I have trouble understanding the other person. Especially when there is any kind of background noise. I read all the reviews and figured the people complaining about the sound quality were probably using the wrong end. I really wanted to like this phone.

Unfotunately, being unable to hear and understand the person on the other end is a deal breaker. Perhaps I just got a bad phone. I'm going to exchange.
