Nokia 6010 Phone (T-Mobile)
I accepted a downgrade in style for an upgrade in reception

I had a Nokia 3595 when I first signed up with T-Mobile and almost never had reception issues. Then when it was time to renew the contract a year later I went with the sexier Samsung E195 flip phone. I liked that it had a bigger screen with larger text (I'm 50). The rings were nicer to listen to and it was smaller if I ever put it in a pocket.

I soon noticed that areas I frequented, like my garage, were giving me dropped calls. I lived with it for months. Then I moved and actually couldn't get reception, in my new home. This would not do, so I ordered the Nokia 6010 from eBay and got it for about $30. The problem with reception immediately turned around.

If you're willing to sacrifice some of the bells and whistles of other phones, and good reception is important to you, this phone is an excellent choice. (There may be newer model Nokia's with enhanced features you want to consider as well)

Another small plus is that you can completely replace the outer shell for $10-20 if yours gets scratched and dinged up.

The battery seems to recharge in a couple of hours and I'm usually good for 2-3 days, but I'm sure my level of usage has a lot to do with that.

T-Mobile customer service is outstanding. I switched from AT&T and the difference is like night and day. I often waited a long time to talk with AT&T, not with T-Mobile. AT&T wouldn't tell me how many minutes I had used until the bill had closed and I was stuck. T-Mobile lets me access the info from my phone.

By the way, approximately 6 customer service reps with T-Mobile concured, without directly saying so, that the Nokia phones are great at dependability and reception. I'm happy with my choice.

Don't quit your day (or night) job

This phone has 2 problems: 1.) The screen is impossible to read in daylight, 2.) The keys are not back lit so you can't dial in the dark.

If you make all of your calls from indoors under non-natural lighting, this phone is a good basic model. I use it as a calculator and an alarm and there are tons of other features I don't use. Supposedly you can download games using the Get It Now feature - I saw another reviewer complaining about lack of games.

I do like the ability to set multiple phone numbers for a single entry, the speed dial options, and the voice options which are mostly accurate when I don't have road noise in the background.

The only other complaint I have is that there seems to be no one way to universally set the volume of all the sounds the phone makes. When you want to turn it to silent, I found I had to not only set the volume of the ringer, but the volume of the voice mail notification, the alarm, and the service area indicator all separately. But maybe I just couldn't find it on the menus.

I ordered a leather case with the phone. The clip spring quit working within 2 weeks and the car charger quit within 2 months.

In summary, for a basic phone that you are not playing games on or taking pictures with, you are better off with a high-contrast monochrome with backlit keys.

Cool features, decent screen, poor reception

The title sums it up. I've found the T68i easy to use. The long battery life is nice, too, and I really like its small size. I was a little disappointed by the low screen resolution for pictures, but the biggest problem has been this phone's poor reception. It works in my house, but not a quarter-mile down the road. I get okay reception in some spots, but none just a mile or two away. It's pretty sad. I'm about to ditch my T68i and buy a Nokia.

Impressions after 3 days w/ Help for Bluetoothers

After 3 days and a good bit of online research, here are my experiences: The 3650 has a good feel, very lightweight, nice design, clean interface and fairly easy to navigate. I agree with others that it has a cheap/non-durable feel v. other Nokia products I've used or held. I can't imagine it would survive a hard drop on concrete. I bought the phone primarily because of the bluetooth connectivity & PC sync capability (I'm an avid outlook user). The camera is a bonus and I honestly don't expect much from it given the resolution.A few things to note: Nokia's PC Suite software is not terribly robust. It provide poor, non descriptive error messages and sometimes lets prompt boxes slip behind other open applications. I also understand from a posting on (great site for wireless purchase & review of wireless products) that the PC Suite software uses Bluetooth software not compatible with most USB Bluetooth dongles. I'm giving it a shot anyway.3 days w/ limited use, isn't enough time to review a product. After struggling mightly to get the bluetooth connection to work for data syncing (IR operates at about 1/7th of the speed, so Bluetooth is prefered for me)...Will update as I use the phone more...One snag I hit is that the Outlook sync prompts would not let me select my calendar & contacts folders. After calling my IT department and Nokia (their tech support is fairly basic and does not offer help with Outlook) I found a .PST file had been moved. I removed the pointer in the folder tree for the PST file & after that I could "see" the calendar & contacts folders in the PC suite software.

Hope this helps!

An excellent gadget if you like that sort of thing

I am definitely in love with my MPx200. It is a sleek looking little phone packed with features, and recently the price has made it a very worthwhile purchase. My only gripes would be that there is a bit of a learning curve associated with a windows based phone and that the phone tends to cut out when using the earpiece w/ mic.

However pluses include being able to use ANYTHING as a ringtone, syncing with microsoft outlook for appts and contacts, and you can even play movies on it with an added smart card storage card. It's definitely attractive with deep black and blue tones and no antennae. If i had to buy a phone now i would probably go for its next gen version the MPx220...but this one the price cant be beat.

stay away from t-mobile

You better check the service everywhere you plan to use it in the period of time when you can return/cancel your plan. Because they DO NOT have coverage everywhere that they claim to.

I've been on the phone with them for hours, explaining that it does not work. THEY DON'T CARE...Stay away from these scammers.

Worthy successor to the i58

Nextel is keeping a key niche of its market happy with the i605. These are professionals who need a rugged candybar phone with no camera, a decent memory size, the ability to perform text messaging and web browsing, and a loud "vintage" ring. This phone improves upon the i58, which has been known as the "construction worker's" phone since 2002. The color screen is the biggest improvement over the i58, which allows this phone to support color GPS maps. Battery life is roughly the same as the i58, which means you should be charging it about every other day. And best of all, the weight and size is about the same as the i58. So if you don't mind a phone that is 5 ounces and is 5" inches long, this is a worthwhile upgrade. I would expect NEXTEL to make this their flagship candybar phone for the next few years. I'm quite happy with it.

Direct Connect enabled - the walkie-talkie service that instantly connects you to all other Nextel users

Voice-activated dialing for your frequently used numbers

Great phone for tech nerds looking for the next best thing.

I just got the S710a two days ago and it is a great phone. I bought it to upgrade from my recently defunct Motorola V400. The reception and sound quality blow the V400 out of the water. Also, the digi cam is fantastic quality, but you can't rely on it as your sole digital camera because it is only 1.3 MP, which the standard on cameras today is 3.2-5 MP.

The unit is larger than many cell phones. I would suggest that you check it out in the store prior to buying it online. It can def fit in a pants, shorts, and jackets. However, it probably won't fit in shirt pockets or tight jeans. I like the size and it is comfortable to use.

Great reception (the third best for Cingular)
1.3 MP camera
Great bluetooth support (worked on my Mac)
Plays MP3s and AAC files
Can take pictures & video
Amazing screen

Large size
External screen might scratch easily (buy PDA screen protectors)
The videos it takes are very low quality

Finally, the camera makes a noise when pictures are taken. This *can* be turned off. Just start camera mode, click settings, find shutter sound, and then select none.
Product features:
Unique swivel design with oversized, 2.3-inch 262,000 color display
Buit-in 1.3 megapixel VGA camera with 8X zoom and video recording
Supports POP3, IMAP4 and SMTP-based email clients
Integrated MP3 player
Integrated Bluetooth technology

Great Phone

I got this phone about 10 days ago. This was the phone that I always want. I could schedule appointment and with ring tone to remind me. However, I have just transferred my phone number to this new toy yesterday, and it stopped working the same nite even after having charged for one whole nite. I bought it from for free, but i could not find any customer contact number on its web site to speed up the return/replacement process. Now I need to wait 5 days for the old number being transferred back to my old phone. I am a licensed massage therapist, I depend largely on mobile phone to keep in touch with my clients. You can imagine the inconvenience and potential loss due to this piece of unreliable device. Maybe it is the price to pay for getting something free!By the way, my personal experience from the phone service activation, the AT&T wireless service is the one that you should keep away from at all cost.

Use Bluetooth to connect with other wireless devices
Camera built in with 2x digital zoom and video capabilty

Best Color Phone in Production. --So Far

This is the best phone I have owned so far and I have been through at least 6 different ones.
Sleek deisgn and tons of features.
The high definition color screen is the best on any phone I have seen so far. When placed next to my work nextel I95 phone, the color screen on the I95 looks weak.
The camera on this phone works good as long as you have a natural light source.
The reception is also great, considering there is no external antenna.
The phone also has an external color screen that can show date, time, reception, battery life, and picture caller id stored in the phone. You can also change the stand-by image display on the external screen to any picture stored in the phone, including ones you took yourself.
The user menu is well laid out and the icons are very helpful. The sounds from the ringtones is crisp.
Another feature worth mentioning is the IR or USB connection on the phone that allows you to transfer all your phonebook information to the phone without typing hundreds of numbers from the phone's keypad. USB cord sold separately.
The price made my decision easy. $50 from AT&T with a 2yr contract. The only downside I have experience and have heard others complain about is the low volume on the phone's headset, even when its turned all the way up. To hear others clearly, the phone has to be placed perfectly on your ear. I normally use the handsfree earpiece that came with the phone so problem solved
Product features:
NEC 525 comes with a secondary color display and camera
