Jabra EarBoom for phones with Universal 2.5mm Jack
Looks good, but that's it!!!

The Jabra EarBroom has become real popular...I had a plantronics headset with my previous phone, but since I changed phones and needed a headset with a 2.5mm jack I thought I'd try the EarBoom.I travel often and found that the ear peices really didn't fit snug and stay in my ear. When I talk to someone, they can hear much more background noise while I'm driving than you could on my Plantronics headset. The voice quality from the ear peice is okay, but as I mentioned it feels like it's always about to fall out. If you're in a quiet room, the sound quality from my voice mic still isn't very good. I'll be heading to the plantronics site, their quality is good, but the ear pieces fell off of my headset least people could hear me and I could hear them clearly though.
Product features:
Increased hands-free safety
Economical and stylish
Superior voice transmission even when used outdoors
EarGel secures the EarSet in outer ear for hours of comfortable wear
Universally compatible with phones containing a 2.5-millimeter jack

below expectations

i had bought a samsung e715 last time when i was in the USA. the phone was simply great except that when i took it to india, the signal reception became bad. i couldnt get signal within my house, which is kinda in the heart of the city.. so this time i wanted to settle for a nokia phone, as i know nokia is known for its reception and customizable features.

so let me start with the pros of the phone:

1. small size
2. rubber grip is good as it prevents the small phone from slipping off the hand
3. rubber keypad- keypad design is innovative and makes usage easy inspite of the space constraint
4. glowing leds attractive for the teen group
5. decent battery life

1. first of all, the phone was initially advertised as a triband phone operating on 900mhz,1800 and 1900. but nokia sells 2 models of 3200- one normal 3220 and the other one - 3220b (this operates on 850 in place of 900) - t-mobile usa sells 3220b which means this phone wont work in india and many other parts of asia.

i called up customer support. they promptly changed the wrong info on their website and asked me to return the phone to the dealer. the dealer refuses to take the phone, saying that he would lose 25%. after 2 days he told me that he spoke to t-mobile and that t-mobile would send me a 900mhz 3220 phone in 5 days.. today i call up cust service and i see theres no record of such a call. so im caught in this battle now..the CSR tells m that since i cant return the phone after 15 days.. i have to buy a new phone from them and that t-mobile cant replace the phone. damn...wish i had sued t-mobile and got a huge compensation for
their blunder.

2. picture caller id was another thing i was looking for. samsung e715 has a pic called id, but its useless, as u would see the pic only if u open the flip phone. by this time, u would know the caller form the id on the front lcd. so i had opted for a non-flip phone.. only here, nokias pic is so small that, its very tough to spot the caller through the pic. this is again a major flop feature.

3. speaker is loud.. but quality is bad

4. the WORST of all. the center key is used as select, unlike the left key in other nokias. its very tough to hit the center key correctly. u mostly end up hitting one of the arrow keys. i have improved with practise.. but its still a pain

5. everytime u make a call the phone says note:call forwarding active. this is bcoz allour phones are set to forward calls to voice mail if theres no answer. but why should a phone display a note to the user about this.. its very annoying.. t-mobile CSR says its afeature of the phone and it cant be customized or deactivated.

Product features:
Customize your handset how ever you want - create your own cut-out back cover, or download a cut-out cover and print it out on your PC
Assign different light patterns/ring tones to your favorite caller groups and your handset lights up in tune with your polyphonic ring tones

T-Mobile Color Sidekick Phone (T-Mobile)
would be great if it weren't so fragile

I cannot say enough good things about the Sidekick!! As a deaf person, the sidekick is everything we may need and more. I'll admit I did not keep it long enough to have breakeage problems like previous reviewers, but this device is EVERYTHING we need and MORE. This device gets NEGATIVE 5 stars from T-Mobile though. It did NOT work in my house, and worked erratically outside. The problem is T-Mobile will swear up and down that there is good to excellent service in your area. We went to the only T-Mobile service provider in our county with our complaints, and they actually told us they are no longer carrying T-Mobile because 9 out of 10 customers return their phones due to lack of reception. I cannot speak for all areas, but Newburgh NY does not have good reception. The sales rep went on to say that when T-Mobile talks of "good" reception they are relying on computer models which do not include buildings, hills, or any obstacle blocking reception. He goes on to say that a GSM tower should carry 15 miles in a perfectly flat terrain, which is what T-Mobile tech support uses to calculate your "coverage". Besides that issue, I give the Sidekick a glowing 5 Stars...Just beware of your provider and their false claims, you have 2 weeks to use this device before returning it, MAKE SURE IT WORKS in your area!!!
Product features:
Important note: It's required that you add the Sidekick Unlimited Data option to your service plan before you check out.
To add the required option, you must add the Sidekick and a service plan, and then on the Accessories page, you need to select the Sidekick Unlimited Data option located under Service Options (this option is located on Step 3 in the checkout process)
The T-Mobile Sidekick is the ultimate communication device
A large color screen that flips open to reveal a full QWERTY keyboard makes for quick and easy communication
Stay connected with all your friends with unlimited e-mail, AOL Instant Messenger, Internet browsing, text messaging and mobile snapshots

Motorola V600 Phone (T-Mobile)
i would recomend that you do not buy a motorola because:

i am EXTREMLY disapointed with motorola. i bought my v600 over the summer for 300 bucks and loved it for about a month. but then, it went dead. just like that, with no warning and no low battery. it wouldent turn on and wouldent show any sign of life no matter what i tried. i went everywhere to see what was wrong but not even the experts could not figure it out. so i looked up the warranty info and found that it was still under warranty, and that if i just sent it in, motorola would fix it and send it back to me in no more then 15 days. so i sent it, and they recieved it on september 3rd. i expected that at the latest, it would be back at the end of the month. i called and called when it dident come, i talked the people on the phone about a million times and they gave me a diffrent deadline when my phone WOULD be here everytime i called, and every time, that day passed with no v600 at my door. i was informed that it would be replaced because the problem could not be fixed, but by this time, i was already a VERY dissatisfied customer. after talking to all those people on the phone and wasting all my time, and even being hung up on by one, my phone got here today. today is OCTOBER 19TH AND I JUST GOT THE PHONE. that is over TWICE what they said it would be. OVER A MONTH WITH NO CELL PHONE. and thats not all. the replacement is RE FURBISHED and has time on it so i cant sell it. it also has a dent a plastic part, the speaker has a rattle AND the down button on the pad barely works. i dont even want to waste any more time on the phone with motorola. this was the LAST purchase i will ever make from them and i recomend you do the same.

Samsung E315 Phone (T-Mobile)
Great phone!

I've been using a prepaid plan and phone for over 2 years, but needed to move to a more traditional plan because I knew I was going to be using a lot more minutes (using a cell phone as a business phone), and a traditional plan is more economical than prepaid when you use more minutes. So...I started doing research to find the best rate plan from the best company with the best phone for the best price. To all those who have gone before me and left reviews, "Thank you." This review is my contribution...

First, the plan and company. T-Mobile is good. It offers the best bang for your buck, offers great incentives on phones (like this one), has good coverage and features, and only offers a 1-year contract (no being tied down for two years to a crummy company or phone). I've had this phone and plan for 1 month now and am quite pleased with the service. The only qualm I have is that the wireless access (T-Zones, etc.) is very spotty and I wasn't able to get a good resolution to the problem; however, since I'm not really into web-surfing on my phone or downloading lots of ringtones and wallpaper, it's not a big deal to me.

Now, the phone. PRO: 1. Size. One of the most common comments I received when showing off my new phone to my friends was, "Man, that thing's tiny!" The Samsung e315 is small enough and light enough to fit unobtrusively in just about any pocket, but unfolds to the perfect size and shape to comfortably hold to your head for long conversations. The buttons are firm and easy to push and are not cramped together. 2. Ease of use. The menu is very easy to follow. I did skim through the manual to familiarize myself with all of the features and find out about some of the more obscure functions, but I changed the wallpaper, set the ringtones, input numbers into the phonebook, took pictures, set picture caller ID, played games, set up shortcuts, and used the calendar and the to-do list (and even made a call!) without looking at the manual. 3. Features. The included games are entertaining. The camera takes decent shots, and the self-portrait mode, using the external display as the viewfinder, is great. I also like the picture caller-ID. The calendar and to-do list provide basic personal organizer functionality. The ringtones are pleasant enough, and the vibration function works well. The service light is a nice feature as well, allowing totally silent operation. The programmable shortcuts are a nice feature as well. 4. Call quality. Calls sound good on this phone. There are few artifacts in the sound, and not a lot of dropped segments. If you've got one or two bars, you've got good call quality. Even if there are no bars, chances are you can get an intelligible call through. I think I've had only one dropped call in the month, and that was in an area of marginal signal strength and the call was a bit of a test to see whether it would get dropped or not. 5. Display. Both the internal and external displays are bright, crisp, and colorful. 6. Volume. The ringer can be set nice and loud, the call volume is also good and loud. 7. Battery life. I get 2-3 days of normal use out of one charge. 8. Miscellaneous. The blue backlighting for the keys is cool, the phone fits very comfortably in my hand, and all of the openings are covered with either a rubber boot (the recharge slot) or a slide cover (very nice for the handsfree slot).

CON: 1. Not all of the options in the menu are crystal clear. Those who never read the instructions would not be able to get the most out of their phone. 2. In direct sunlight, the displays get washed out to the point they're almost unusable. 3. The external display is very limited in what you can put on it. Also, unless you press one of the external buttons to activate the light, it is unreadable. 4. The rubber boot for the recharge slot is not attached and so could be easily lost. 5. The vibrator could be stronger.

All of those cons are picky little things that if remedied would make this very good phone a great phone. All in all, I would highly recommend this phone with T-Mobile service, especially since you can get it free from T-Mobile, or gain $100 from Amazon. :-)

Samsung E715 Phone (T-Mobile)
just becasue

This phone is amazingly small and light for a camera phone; it even has a flashlight/flash. Problems the phone has that I find to be a real problem: 1. The battery life is the worst of any phone I've ever owned. It MAY last 2 to 3 days in stand by IF I don't use it at all; if I use the phone at all, even just 10 minutes, no more than one day on a full charge. 2. No voice activated dialing. I like to use a speaker type hands free kit in the car so I don't have to look at the phone to answer, talk or dial. I think all phones should have it. 3. It is not very user friendly. The menus are not logical and are confusing. 4. It has an IR but it doesn't sync with your computer. You can't transfer anything. I don't get why they even have it. They have software and cable you can purchase that will let you backup the phone numbers you enter and photos you take, but (5) no syncing with Outlook, your PDA or anything else. 6. If you buy ring tones or wallpaper, you can't back those up. I do love the phone for its size, weight and even the color, I find it easy to hold and talk with. The sound isn't the best, but it isn't bad either. It rings nice and loud and putting it on vibrate is easy. I can't put the phone in a standard cell phone holder for the car because the camera button is on the side and it's a long key, the holder makes the camera come on. I had to get a small holder that only grabs in one small area on each side. I've had to purchased 3 additional batteries and every kind of charger available because the average use of a battery is 15 hours (regular phone use for me is: about 10 minutes a day, use the "t-zones" for a minute or two once a month, in 6 months I've taken a total of 9 photos, and transferred data twice). The battery lasted 3 days ONCE, when I was home sick and didn't use the phone and one 24 hour day I had to replace the battery three times as they completely discharged. I'm use to a battery lasting 5 to 8 days (like this phone says it will last).I also like T-Mobile. Their customer service is really good, the features they offer on their web site are great, the prices for wireless modem and wireless web are incredibility great and the national calling price plans are very good compared to what I?ve seen elsewhere. I was with AT&T since they bought out L.A. Cellular. The customer service was great for years, but got so bad I?d wait on hold for hours and couldn?t get through to a person for days.

Great holster - after some modding

Why complain about the tightness of this holster when it's so easy to fix? This holster came with my v60 and I love it (now). I'd like to give it 5 stars but can't. It does need a little 'modding' to meet my standard of usability.I will admit, when I first got it, it was nearly impossible to remove the phone. I don't know what they were thinking but the top clip seats WAY TOO TIGHTLY for convenient removal. The battery compartment release gets in the way big time. Every time I took the phone out I almost disassembled it.Why do I give it 4 stars then? Because, with a little modification, this is the best holster I have used. The holster has clips on the top and bottom that fit into grooves on the phone. The top clip is way too long and in just the right place to interfere with the battery compartment release. What can you do about this? All it takes is a pocket knife or any other utensil suitable for taking a bit of plastic off the top tongue. ... As it comes, it's exactly the right size for the groove on the phone. But it's just too darn tight. If you shave it down just a bit and make some room for the battery compartment release it will work wonderfully. Didn't they test these things before they started mass producing? ...The entire tongue is shaved down a bit and the middle is shaved down further to avoid making contact with the battery compartment release which is not as wide as the groove on the phone. Make sure you take a little off at a time to avoid a loose fit. Even after this modification, the phone should be *very* tight. You shouldn't be able to take it off by pulling or even getting it snagged on something. However, it should come off with little effort if you push on the top tab on the holster. Summary:
If this holster came with your phone or you like the style and you're willing to spend 5 minutes perfecting it, then you've got yourself a very usable holster. If you want perfection right out of the box then this holster is not for you. Disclaimer:
Reader assumes all responsibility for following the above suggestions and the results thereof. IE - Don't cut yourself doing this and don't cry if the holster only lasts two years instead of the thirty-seven years Motorola designed it for.
