Sony Ericsson T610 Phone (T-Mobile)
Great Bluetooth Phone

Now that I have used the SE T610 phone for almost 2 months with my Palm Zire 72 and HP IPAQ 4155, I must give it 5 stars for the following reasons:

1) The Camera is great. The pictures come out real clear and beautiful after you send it via Email. Please don't judge the quality of the pictures by what you see on the T610. I admit that the pictures look a little fuzzy on the T610. But with only 2MB of memory the purpose of taking pictures is to upload them or send them via Email to others. The quality of the pictures improves dramatically once they are sent and viewed via one's PC.

2) The Bluetooth features on this phone are outrageous. I have paired my SE T610 using T-Mobile's unlimited VPN GPRS Data Service with my Palm Zire 72, HP IPAQ 4155, and Logitech Mobile Wireless Bluetooth Headset and Performance is Great. If you got a Bluetooth enabled Palm or Pocket PC, then this is the phone for you. Sony Ericsson was in on the ground floor on this Bluetooth Revolution. I send data via my Pocket PC and Palm to my SE T610 via Bluetooth in a flash. Moreover, web surfing is much faster than I thought via Bluetooth.

3) I have absolutely NO problem with signal strength or clarity of voice calls in NYC where I primarily use this phone. Where I go in the boroughs of Queens, Bronx, Manhatten, Brooklyn and Nassau County (with the exception of Garden City) is great.

People need to realize that T-Mobile does not have the extensive network that Verizon or even Sprint has. So, if you are looking to buy this phone to use with the T-Mobile Network, I can enthusiastically recommend it if you live in most of NYC (outside of Staten Island). However, you need to do your own due diligence and check out in advance whether this phone will perform well with your service provider in the area where you live.

Samsung 426 Phone - Next Generation (AT&T)
426

It is just sufficient. The ring tones are for adolescents, Samsung should have added at least one tradional sound. It should also have been designed with an external caller ID, it takes time to slide the phone out of the case, flip it open, read the number, then hit accept. I personally found the silver colored buttons with royal blue numbers hard to distinguish from the silver colored background. I miss my old Motorola V60.
Product features:
Samsung 426 is notable for its thin profile, light weight, and large, bright color display
Includes GPRS high-speed data and Java downloadable applications
Features 40-chord polyphonic ringtones
Holds 7 hours of talk time and 216 hours of standby time
Supports wireless Internet and text messaging

Good Basic Phone with Excellent Reception and Battery Life

The Nokia 6010 has always given me good signal strength, and the battery life is amazing (especially the standby time). The interface is very intuitive, and all the basic necessary features are there.

My number one annoyance is that this phone is fairly bulky in all three dimensions. I normally place the phone in my pants pocket, and it's large and heavy enough to frequently remind me that the phone is still there (whereas my wallet does not).

The only other thing that bothers me about this phone is that, out of the seven included wallpapers, four of them make it very difficult to see the signal and battery bars (due to contrast), even after trying every color scheme option. Of course, you could just download additional wallpapers, but I'm surprised that the default set wasn't designed for bar visibility to begin with. (Most of the color schemes are also too light on the default white background when there's no wallpaper.)

And there's a shortage of discrete ringtones. Most of them, although amusing to hear the first time around, sound too disruptive for most indoor environments. But of course, you can always purchase additional ringtones, and opinions about ringtones vary anyway.

Aside from the voice commands for dialing contacts, this is a no frills phone, but it gets the job done very well.
Product features:
Lightweight and ergonomic design
One touch dialing and voice dialing for easy communication
Phone book with up to 500 contacts, with up to 5 numbers and 3 text entries per contact
Personalize your phone with 8 different color schemes
Includes phone, wall charger, SIM card and user documentation.

Worth it if you use the screen

I read a lot of the reviews and carefully researched this phone. I also visited a Circuit City to see the phone in person. As a OS X user, bluetooth and iSync support was mandatory. Also, I wanted to play games, surf the net, AIM, take photos and email then, etc. This phone is bigger then a Sony Ericson, but after holding the new Sony's in my hand, I find them way too small. I can;t imagine using that phone for anything other then a phone. The screen is way too small compared to the 3650. The 3650's screen is perfect. The dial pad is awkward the first week, then it's second nature afterwards...Pro's
1)Sybina OS
2) play games on nice size screen
3) email/surf on nice size screen
4) great features and sound
5) bluetooth
6) can run applications
7) headset speaker phone feature
8) blue keypad lights are cool
9) camera is half way decent
10) painless syncing with iSync via bluetooth
11) Holds more address info when addresses are synced from X's Address Book
12) Reads and displays AIM personal buddy photos when taken from X'sAddress Book
13) Can get opera browser to surf withCon's
1) keypad takes a week or so to get used to
2) only comes with 2 games (more of a whine)
3) Aren't many apps for the OS yet
4) A lot to learn, gotta read the manualIt comes down to what you want from the phone. If you want small slick Zoolander type phone, get a Sony-Ericsson. If you want to surf the net, play games, take notes, make shopping lists, AIM, etc you really want the 3650. The SE may do those, but it's a joke on the SE's small screen compared to the 3650.

Great phone, needs help as PDA

I got this as a single device replacement for my cell phone and Palm Vx. Its performance as a phone has been a tremendous improvement over my old Ericsson T19LX - call quality using AT&T service in New York is great, as is having my PDA address book integrated with the phone so I don't have to worry about updating phone numbers in multiple places. The size is quite respectable considering how much functionality it contains, but definitely somewhat large for a current model phone. As a PDA, it is functional but suffers from some flaws. Importing contacts from Palm Desktop did not work - many entries where I had a home and mobile number showed up with one entry called homemobile and dropped the other number. When I moved everything to Outlook and synchronized it worked fine. However, it still does not sync note fields for to-do and calendar entries, and Nokia says they have no plans to fix that. The phone's to-do editor does not let you make an entry without a due date, and also does not let you turn off the alarm that occurs on the due date. Accessing POP3 email works, but if you want to delete a message from the phone while leaving it on your server you still have to leave the header on the phone and scroll past it in your inbox. I solved some other problems by installing ActiveDesk and ActiveMail from Cibenix, which I would definitely recommend if you purchase this phone.Overall, I would give this 5 stars for packing some great hardware into an attractive package with great phone functionality at a good price. However, the PDA software flaws knock it down a notch.

nokia 6320

Just a reminder from amazon Cingular deal.

Since amazon and Cingular hasn't established the number transfer relationship, if you want to transfer your phone number to Cinglar, Cingular has to canceal your original account established by Amazon, and create another new one for you. This process disqualifies you from getting the Amazon special rebate.

Everyone who wants to buy nokia 6230 from amazon should be aware of this. You DON'T get the special discount.

Great phone

You know it's funny, I almost didn't buy this phone because there were so many negative comments, but all in all I've been very happy with it. Usually the signal is great, service is helpful (I've been with Nextel for 2+ years and never had a problem), sound quality is good... The buttons are a bit recessed, but I haven't found that to be a problem. I've seen complaints about getting the battery cover on/off, and plugging it in to the charger - I've had no problems.
As for the GPS, even professional units (I do this as part of my job) do not always get a good signal, cannot work from inside, and sometimes take a half an hour for the satellites to be high enough in the horizon to be of use. It changes day to day - there's a website you can go to that will tell you when the best PDOP (good satellite coverage) will be. The more satellites there are, the more accurate your locations will be.
My only complaint was that the day after I bought my phone, a tower was down, which meant I wasn't able to make any calls for a couple of days. Very frustrating, but it was over a holiday weekend (I called on the Saturday before Labor Day), so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt.
All in all, I've been happy with the purchase so far - it's NOT that heavy, the battery lasts 2-3 times longer than my old phone... All told, I would buy it again.

Product features:
The i730 comes with a new 65k color display with enhanced clarity that allows you to customize your screen with downloadable wallpapers, adjustable color palettes, and choice of three font sizes
Hands-free cellular conversations are always available with the built-in speakerphone
Set your phone and instantly connect to the last Direct Connect call or an assigned contact by pressing the PTT button from the main idle screen
Comes with a powerful datebook that allows you to book meetings, plan events, and set alarms that will automatically turn-on the phone if needed
Phone can store up to 600 contact entries - Store up to seven numbers for a single name

Good Coverage...Very Economical!

My husband and I have used tracfones for over a year and are very happy. They use the largest phone company's network for the best coverage(always good signal). It costs about $9 a month. We cancelled our 29.99 sprint plan an enjoy the savings. You can get 100 free minutes through their referal plan, just e-mail me at krisjny@hotmail.com and I'll send the referal to you. Their customer service is OK and their website works fine.I don't really understand others complaints, but who knows what they were expecting. Tracfone is for light users, maybe 50 to a hundred minutes a month.
Product features:
Phone comes with 10 free minutes upon activation, $100 bonus airtime offer, headset, battery, and charger
Simple-to-use navigation buttons and graphical screens
Large 5-line screen
Changeable faceplates allow personalization

Nice to get paid to puchase it!

I have had the phone for a week. So far it has been great. Need to charge the battery about every 2 days. As just a phone is great. Calls are loud and clear, and get good reception, although that is mostly due to t-mobile. The camera is more of a toy, and the pictures are just ok. But if you keep the camera attachment on your keychain, then its good to have for all those times you wish you had a camera. Ringtones again sound ok, but the great thing is that they are just midi files, so you can use t-zones to go to any site with the midi's and dload rings for free, and there are some great loud ones out there. I have used the s105 as well. It's ringtones sound nicer, but are a propriatery format, so can only seem to get them from t-mobile for a fee. The t722i's screen isnt as nice and bright indoors as the s105, but it works much better in the bright sun (the s105 is difficult to see). Text input is excellent with motorola's adaptive input. Just type the #'s and a list of the possible words are listed at the bottom, most common listed first. I found it to be much better than the entry of the s105, which i would usually turn of the guessing and just hit the #'s for the letters in the standard entry. Overall I highly recommend the t722i.
Product features:
Large color screen supports up to 4096 colors (120x160 pixels)
Synchronize your Phonebook, Calendar and To-Do List
Email Text and Picture Messages
Voice Dialing, Recording, and Commands
Phone supports wireless Internet and Java downloads

Light enough to forget you are wearing it

I love the light weight of this headset. I forget I am wearing it. And I can leave my phone in my handbag or the pocket of my cargo pants and still get and place calls. Very convenient. I have been known to lose the signal momentarily when I leave the phone in my bedroom and go downstairs and outside - but if I stay in the same end of the house I don't lose the signal.
Product features:
Bluetooth wireless technology means that the sheer convenience of hands-free communication is enhanced with total freedom of movement.
Unfold the boom microphone, place the headset over the ear and a link will be established automatically.
This universal accessory encourages users to update, change and evolve because it is compatible with all other 1.1 compliant Bluetooth wireless technology phones by Motorola and other manufacturers.
Smaller Size, Bigger Power. This tiny powerhouse is less than 5 cm in diameter when folded and weighs just 20 grams.
Increased talk time of up to 8 hours and standby time of up to 200 hours.
