Motorola MPx200 Smartphone - Next Generation (AT&T)
Finally - Everything I need in one hand

Owned: 3 weeks
Where: San Diego, CA (roaming in UK)Contrary to AT&T's marketing blurb, this IS an international phone. It doesn't support 900MHz but I successfully used in all over the UK on 1800MHz. Coverage in San Diego is faultless so far.Other reviews have covered all the great features and the seemless integation into Windows XP. Dragging and dropping video clips of my little boy was a breeze. Internet access isn't lightning quick but very usable - especially for those sites that cater to phone browsers. The full HTML support is useful in a pinch: the phone acts as a little window that can be scrolled around the full browser page.AT&T customer service is less than satisfactory - I suggest you keep calling until you get someone who knows what they're doing. The store staff are even less likely to be knowledgeable about a sophisticated phone like this. I gave 5 stars to the phone, not to AT&T but then again my experience of all the wireless companies is depressingly similar. I'll put up with it in order to have the best phone available. Most importantly, this device is the closest yet to the 'all-in-one' organizer that I've been looking for for years. Not as powerful as the full PPC but it fits in my pocket and can be used with one hand. Even MS Messenger works like a dream....

I like the palm features. They're great. But the phone quality sucks. I've gone through 5 in a year and a half because the flip part's hinge keeps breaking. I used to get a replacement under warranty with Tmobile but they stopped honoring the warranty and charge me $70 for out of warranty service. Tmobile's service has gone down hill drastically over the last year. I've been a customer for a long time but it's time to bail. I've had nothing but problems with the phone and with Tmobile. I don't recommend either.

What's with all the bad reviews?

I just got this phone today. I don't see why people are complaining about the reception. I live in North Carolina, my friend called from Florida and I could hear his voice perfectly clear. Then I called my uncle who lives in Chicago and the reception was still great. This is a good phone and has some nice features.

Motorola USB Data Kit for Motorola V Series and Timeport Series Phones
Great for phone book and schedule updates

Bought it on the half price special, so it was really worth the money.Transfered all my phone numbers, appointments, birthdays, and anniverseries to the new phone in one sitting - PC keyboard is much faster than the phone keys...
Although you can't assign numerical order to phone book entries.Cable doesn't always stay attached or attach the first try, but USB hot connecting is better than serial.Software is supposed to be compatible with Lotus Notes, but haven't got it to work yet or tried customer service.
Product features:
Connect your Motorola phone to your Windows XP computer
Includes Starfish TrueSync software
USB connection
Also includes General Packet Radio Service modem manager for V60g, V66, and Timeport P280 phones
Includes cable and cd-rom

I've had this PDA Phone for over a year...

..and I'm hooked. First of all, you should realize that if you're going to own a phone like this, you get a PDA which also doubles as a phone. It's first and foremost a PDA. So, if you just have to have the tiniest device possible, don't want to spend hardly any money on the device, and don't want to spend any time learning how to use it, then this phone is NOT for you.

But, if you're like me, this PDA phone (XDA) is perfect! Besides serving as a phone, I also use this device extensively to read offline web pages (using AvantGo - free), to read ebooks (using the free ?Book from and Microsoft Reader), play games (free and otherwise), and I even use a portable Targus Universal Wireless keyboard (Model # PA870U) to type up notes & journal entries using Microsoft Word which then synchronizes back to my computer. You will probably also like WisBar Advance from which does a number of other useful things for you (like program control, skins, etc.)

Besides the portable keyboard, I also recommend that owners of this phone immediately obtain a hard case like the OX-0313 at My phone has survived a few drops, but it has some small dents from dropping it before I had the case. Since I got the case, it has sustained no more damage, despite a few more drops. A friend of mine used to carry his phone (same model) without any case and it met its end after only one drop on concrete.

One last thing you'll want to buy with this phone is an extra SD memory card. That actually is essential, as the internal memory of the PDA itself will fill up quite quickly once you start loading ?Book, games, ebooks, etc. I use a 64 MB card and have mostly filled that up. I would recommend starting with a 128 MB card. That may seem too big at first, but you'll quickly use up the space.

You should know that I have NOT used the phone with the T-Mobile internet service so I can't vouch for the quality of that service. As far as standard phone functions go, the phone has done OK. Like many phones, you won't be able to use it in buildings and some locations, depending on antenna, etc. but it has been decent where I live (Minneapolis, MN area).

In short, this has been a great phone for me. I have almost completely stopped lugging around a laptop since I got this phone as it does everything for me that I used the laptop for. Obviously, this won't do everything a regular computer does, but it does everything I need, and more. If you already use a computer daily and would like to carry some of that functionality around with you without lugging around a laptop, this phone is probably ideal for you.

A decent mobile for a price you pay

I have been using this phone for four months. I am still monkeying around with T610. Here are the Pros and Cons I found so far... Pros :)
1. As Every body says it.. Great Display.
2. Very Compact... fits a mid size hand perfectly well!
3. Ring tones are much better than those provided by Samsung et al!
4. I don't feel there is any problem with Navigation with menu as described by other users.
5. The battery life is also good (close to 4hrs of talking time)
6. Finally... U have a music DJ...hmmm... May interest some ppl!I dropped my phone on a hard floor.. happy that it still functions properly... (except for a few scratches :-() rugged uh!now to the Cons :(
1. The volume control doesn't work when you are in the main menu
(the initial display screen). It gives the profile of the phone instead (some times irritating).
2. Can't control the brightness. Some time too bright in the dark.
3. No Speaker PhoneOther than these I am not able to find any negatives points for this piece. If ppl say that camera/pics are not of good qlty.. well go and buy yourself a digital camera and start shooting pics. This is just an added feature.Warning: If your palm is too large.. this phone might not fit to your needs... The keys are just the right size for phone of this size. The service from T Mobile is just ABOVE AVERAGE... nothing exceptional about it. I get lot of Spam text messages and they charge for that too. I tried blocking the text messages.. but it still comes.. no matter what I do. (I am really annoyed about this)Over all rating 4/5

Good Phone... :)

I love virgin mobile, they absolutely rock! You don't have to pay a bill or anything, you just simply top up! This phone itself is very very dependable! I literally have dropped it over 100 times and it still works perfect!! Hehe, I guess that isn't the best way to describe it, but it really is made well. The reception is great, and the features are awesome! Virgin mobile offers a lot of really cool things like MTV Ringtones that you can download right from your phone in seconds. I love my phone, the only thing better would be if it was a color screen and took pics, but it's an older model, so what can you do? THANKS VIRGIN!

Ratcheting Swivel Belt Holster for Motorola V505, V551, V600
cheap plastic breaks too easily

This does have good design for quick release and for swivel to a horizontal position. I'm glad some other reviewers have not had a problem, but even when securely in place, it IS possible to accidentally bump the latch loose and your phone will fall out. That would be a fair enough trade for the quick release, but yesterday the cheap plastic c-hook at the bottom of the belt clip just snapped off so the whole holster slipped from my belt and my new $100 phone was ruined. Needs a higher quality plastic, or the belt clip should be made of metal.
Product features:
Durable custom-fitted holster made of polycarbonate plastic
Allows for easy and convenient access to cell phone
Slim line belt clip has seven ratcheting positions
Secures cell phone onto belt, purse, handbag, backpack, or jacket.
Compatible with Motorola V300, V400, V505, V551, V600
