Blame Paris, not Sidekick

This IS the same kind of phone Paris Hilton has in the commercials. She also has a Blackberry, I believe...I'm not sure which one got compromised. In any case, it was not the phone's fault her numbers got out. She never set up her own passcode for her voicemail. The 'thieves' just tweaked their caller ID to look like it was her phone, called her voicemail over the course of a couple of months, and wrote dwon all the numbers that the stars left for her.

Kyocera K9 Prepaid Phone (Virgin Mobile)
The most awesome Virgin Mobile phone around!

This is a nice, sleek looking phone from a simple pay as you go wireless provider. Virgin Mobile uses the SPRINT PCS network and charges you as follows...$.025 a minute for the first 10 minutes of the day, then $0.10 a minute after that. Or, $0.10 a minute plus $0.35 a day. You pay $0.10 per text message you send and it is free to receive them. You must top off your account at least $20 every 90 days to keep your account active, but you keep the minutes you have already purchased. If you don't use your phone a lot your looking at $6.66 a month for a cell phone. How simple is that? No other hidden fees involved.

The Kyocera K9 is being replaced by the K10 with a color screen and more features. This phone is a bargain price wise compared to the K10. You can send and receive text from other phones or email addresses. There are tons of downloadable stuff from the web site as well. Other features include a built in flashlight, jack for an ear piece and one of the games is get this, TETRIS! Anytime your curious about how much money you have left on your account you can check your balance right on the phone. It takes about 5 seconds for the account information to be zapped back to you in a text message. You can also access your account on the web site.

If your like me who got tired of spending over $50 a month for cell phone minutes I never used, this is for you. I like the convenience of having a phone, but do not have a need to have it glued to my ear all day. Virgin Mobile pay as you go is simple and in my case money saving. Not to mention this particular phone is a bargain in price and stylish too!
Product features:
Dazzling blue backlighting
Palm-friendly size and shape
2-way text messaging
Download actual song clips
Built-in flashlight and 3 pre-loaded games

PCS Phone palmOne Treo 600 (Sprint)
A much awaited PDA phone but still, it could be better

Basically, there is not much of a complain but a joy to welcome the new Treo 600 into the family of PDA phone at present. It is just the right size. The physical keys/buttons are user friendly and can be managed single handedly. It operates on the latest Palm OS ie. the 5.2 version. The memory is expandable with a SD card. That's really great ! Everything else is just like operating a normal Palm PDA. The set back are the low color resolution which in fact does not support some high color resolution games and it also affects the clarity and color resolution of the in-built camera. Also, why didn't they include bluetooth ? The phone ringing tones are just too soft even though maximum volumn has been set. Many a times, I have missed my calls simply because I didn't hear the ringing tones. And I can't stand the antenna sticking out. It is quite annoying. I realise the latest XDA II O2 doesn't come with a sticking out antenna. The material used for the body casing is also rather slipery and at times, I have nearly drop it, phew !Like I said, it can be further improved and I hope the manufacturer or designer will look seriously into these short comings in the future and then, I am quite sure, the next generation of Treo PDA phone would be a world class design long awaited for.
Product features:
Treo 600 combines a full-featured mobile phone and Palm OS organizer with wireless applications like email, text messaging, web browsing and even a digital camera
QWERTY keyboard makes entering text and accessing information fast and familiar-perfect for messaging and a must have for email
Built-in color web browser, Blazer, gives you fast access to nearly all the sites on the web-not just the ones optimized for mobile devices
Take a picture or share images with others via email-you can even attach a photo to a phone number so you can see exactly who's calling with Picture Caller ID
Because Treo 600 runs the popular Palm OS, there are thousands of applications you can download and use-like MP3 players, etc.

Great Phone

I tried ordering this phone from but I was sent an e-mail telling me that Cingular could not approve my order due to "insufficient information". then sent me an e-mail telling me that they were cancelling the order because of this reason. It was not specified what information was missing and when I tried contacting, they never replied to me. A month later, I open up my credit card statement and wooooo! There it is: a charge for $177 for a phone and service I never received! HOPEFULLY, now that I've contacted, they'll remedy this situation asap. I find this outrageously irresponsible and crafty of both and Cingular and I'm very unhappy. Please watch out... I think it would be a better idea to go directly to a wireless/cell phone store than to risk unnecessarily exorbitant charges on your credit card... for nothing.

Good at everything except being a phone

I have never written a consumer product review before, because I have never bought a consumer product that sucked so much before. Swayed by its great feature list and too-cool size, I bought this phone with high anticipation. The reality was awful reception, and even at its best, there was CONSTANT STATIC, just like others have noticed. I turned it back in for a Motorola 505, and it is 50x the phone this one is. Damn Samsung, how did such a good company get this so wrong?

With lots of features

I just bought this phone in for free after mail-in rebates. This phone has lots of cool features. I uploaded my 120 contacts from outlook(PC) to phone without any hassle using the IR port. It worked very well. The camera feature is very exciting. It has 640x480 resolution. Transfering images to PC is real easy using IR port. But it is little slow. I didn't find a way to increase the IR speed. But, still it is lots of fun to use the camera. In built video recorder is real cook but you can take only 10-15 sec of video upto max of 93KB. Another roomy feature is it comes up with 3.4MB phone memory + an extra 16MB memory card. This can be upgraded to any higher memory card. This phone also has tribands. GPRS feature which can be used to browse the internet. The round keypad is not at all a problem. I got used to it in 1 day. Don't worry about the keypad. The weight (4.2OZ) is also not a problem. Overall I really liked this phone. Had lots of fun...
Product features:
Wireless phone with integrated video/digital camera
3.4 MB on board storage, MultiMediaCard expansion slot
Oversized display for MP4 video playback
High-speed internet access, supports Java-based downloads
Integrated Bluetooth connectivity for data transmission to other Bluetooth devices

Has held up well

I am buying my second one of these. I wore the first on out, but that is not a bad thing. It lasted me over a year of very rough use, and protected my phone from MANY falls. I am impressed with how well the belt clip holds on, better than any other one I have found. I finally shattered the plastic on the belt clip and tore the front plastic off by smashing and scraping it too many times, but the phone still works!
Product features:
Water-resistant and shock-absorbent neoprene layer
Provides 100 percent coverage for storage
Fits standard and extended batteries
Extra comfortable design
Compatible with Nokia 8260 phones

ATT service not making the phone worth the trouble of owning

I got this phone because of the look, the camera and the flip. I really like the look and the camera is great, but here are the things I don't like: 1)ear piece is not loud enough, my husband has to practically yell into the phone when I'm talking to him in my car, 2)the flip is annoying because when the phone rings you still have to push a button to answer after opening it, 3)very poor battery life (charged it on a Monday night and it was dead by Wednesday morning without barely using it) and 4) I hate the ring tones (they're all techno) and I've had difficulty ordering new ones over mMode (mMode kicked me off both times I ordered a ring tone, which you pay before you download, so I'm out 2 bucks a pop for ring tones I couldn't download). The other thing is when you turn on the phone you get a start up tone. While you can change the tone, so that it's different from your ring tone, you cannot change the volume. I have my ringer turned up all the way, so I'll hear it in my purse, but if I want to turn my phone on in the office everyone hears this incredibly loud start up tone. The only thing that I've found to help with this issue is that you can hit any button to get the tone to shut off. Most importantly, this phone is just not user-friendly. If you're into gadgets and computers and really want to take the time to figure out this phone, then you'll probably enjoy the NEC 525. I think there are a lot of very cool features to this phone, however there are some very basic features missing. My husband got a Sony 616 @ the same time as I got this one and he paid $100 less than me and I like his phone better (I was already an AT&T customer, so I didn't pay the low price you would when switching from another carrier). I'm switching to that phone this weekend.
Product features:
NEC 525 comes with a secondary color display and camera
Large main color display with 162x216 pixels (65,536 colors)
Phone supports WML, cHTML (i-Mode), and xHTML (WAP 2.0) wireless Internet
Quad-band GSM world phone is one of the first capable of roaming on virtually all GSM networks in the US and abroad
