Audiovox 8910 Flasher V7 Silver Prepaid Phone (Virgin Mobile)
A prepaid camera phone? Finally!!

This will be the 4th phone I will have had with Virgin Mobile. I love the service I receive with the company, and with my usage am paying comparable rates to a contracted service. But this review is on the phone. I am coming from the 8610 (which I have written a review on) to the 8910 or "Flasher V7". I thought I had found the perfect phone in the 8610...until I laid my eyes on the 8910 on the Virgin Mobile website. I purchased my 8910 at my local Target on Friday the 15th for $169.99 plus tax. The phones are almost identical with the exception of some additional features on the 8910. They are as listed below:

-Cosmetic differences, the most noticeable being the availibilty of a blue casing or silver casing. I have the blue, and it looks great.
-The 8910 has voice dial featues. I had never used this before, but have quickly grown to love this feature. I don't have to remember who is what number in speed dial.
-Voice memo. You can record up to 60 second memos for reply. you can also add a written name for your memo. This is great since I have a rather short memory span.
-Downloadable games/wallpapers/screensavers/ringtones. This phone uses a new, faster browser to allow for these items to be downloaded. There are several options in each category, all accesible from the phone. I downloaded the classic Atari game, Pitfall, from my phone. It was easy and quick. The games $3.99, but I would rather pay and have my choice of games. I have not downloaded any wallpapers or screensavers since you can use pictures taken with the phone. You can also download song clips for ring tones.
-My account. When checking you balance, this has a much more involved system, much like what you would see if checking your account online. I really like this new method.
-The camera. Probably the most popular reason people will be buying this phone is the camera. I have never used a camera phone before, but this one is so user friendly, I have not had to reference the owner's manual yet. You can access your pictures or to take a picture through the main menu. Or, the much easier way, a button on the side of the phone. Press it once, you go into camera mode. Pressing it again takes a picture. I am very impressed with the quality of the pictures this camera takes. They are better than my digital camera. Once you snap a picture, you can send it(email or to another Flasher V7 phone), upload it(to the "my pix" on the Virgin Mobile website) or save it to your phone. Doing one of the first two options will cost you 25 cents a pop, so I would be selective in which pictures you send or upload. I personally prefer uploading, there are more things you can do with them, including emailing them. There are 3 settings for the flash-off, this shot only or always on. I have only had to use the flash a few times, the natural lighting was enough. The screen on the phone also adjusts the darkness so you can see what you are taking a picture of more clearly. A few other options are "frames" that can go around the edge of the photo, and voice memos/captions. There are 3 sizes of pictures you can take, and a zoom available on two of them.

Overall, I feel this phone was worth every penny. If you are thinking about a camera phone, I would strongly suggest you check out the Flasher V7

Don't bother with the V220

My roommate and I bought the same plan from cingular three months ago, but we got different phones - she chose a Samsung phone and I chose the Motorola V220. The biggest problem I have with my phone is that it doesn't like to ring when I'm getting a call, and even when it does ring it doesn't ring long enough for me to answer. I always end up having to call the person back. Also, the V220 often has a very weak signal in places where my roommate's phone will have a full signal, and I frequently have calls dropped. This is my first motorola... and most likely my last. Don't bother buying the V220.

I gave it a star because there was nothing lower

Sprint is so very evil. Please don't support them. They have horrible customer service, their phones are terrible. The reception stinks, they break easily and sprint will overcharge you. They are the worst company in the whole entire world. They are an evil empire. If I were a giant man with giant nuts, I'd teabag their whole evil empire.

Great hardware...Be wary of T-Mobile

Simply put, this hardware device is amazing...Easy to use and intuitive.

That said T-Mobile is really annoying. I signed-up for the 29.99 plan with Enterprise Server Access, which worked for 2 months before I was informed by T-Mobile that I would need to switch to a $39.99 plan to maintain Enterprise Server Access.
Product features:
Full-color screen with easy-to-use icons

Bad voice function

My goal was to eliminate having a cell phone, PDA and Blackberry via a Smartphone. The TREO 600 was the answer but has limitations. It requires a fairly complicated setup and third party software to access corporate e-mail. AT@T also has additional software and monthly fees (which was a surprise during setup) over the e-mail and memory fees upon purchase. If you are an Outlook user, third party software i.e. DatavViz is a must. BTW, I spent about $200 on third party software and believe I need to spend another ~$300 for SD memory. Web access is slow but tolerable. I found the screen to be very small for meeting and e-mail details but that's the price one pays for a small foot print. Overall, I rated it high because of all the features--may take some time to fully replace my IPAQ.
Product features:
Treo 600 combines a full-featured mobile phone and Palm OS organizer with wireless applications like email, text messaging, web browsing and even a digital camera
QWERTY keyboard makes entering text and accessing information fast and familiar-perfect for messaging and a must have for email
Built-in color web browser, Blazer, gives you fast access to nearly all the sites on the web-not just the ones optimized for mobile devices
Take a picture or share images with others via email-you can even attach a photo to a phone number so you can see exactly who's calling with Picture Caller ID
Because Treo 600 runs the popular Palm OS, there are thousands of applications you can download and use-like MP3 players, etc.

I love my phone!

I was never a huge fan of people who were mad over phones but I have become one with my Motorola V300. I researched this phone and its reviews for a month before I bought it and I haven't been let down at all. The camera is really easy to use, has a 3x zoom, and makes great pictures and I can email them to my daughter's father in England which is really convenient.
The phone itself has a really useful keypad where you can program four keys to quicklink to phone features like the phonebook, pictures, personalization page etc which I really like.
It's small and compact and I bought a really cute glittery star cover for it.
I am trying to find out if/how I can put my own mp3 ringtones on the phone. The polyphonic ones sound rubbish but the proper song ones (I have so far got Incubus and Lostprophets) sound amazing (although at top volume they sound like they're going to blow the speakers)! However the choice for these on the T-Mobile website is really small.
The only problems I have are that I cannot make call while it's plugged into the car charger, the call will fail every time, and the battery seems to die faster than my old brick Nokia did even if I don't make a call all day.
T-Mobile's service has been excellent. But, I got T-Mobile service specifically to use it to call internationally and use while I visit Britain as I need to be able to reach my daughter's father at all times. I was not informed at the time of purchase that you have to wait three months (or with some accounts up to a year) and I did get several different answers when I called customer care about the matter until I finally sorted out the right one. That was really annoying and I did consider cancelling the service but I love this phone and the three months will go quickly. And the phone will still work in the UK, I will just have to use my Orange sim card (and it came with UK and European wall plug in thingies for the charger which is really convenient).
So overall, a fantastic phone. I'm a bit weary about Asurion insurance as I have read a lot of customer complaints about them. Just know that changing the cover yourself voids the warranty and the insurance, you have to have it done at a T-Mobile shop and hopefully I will get a new V300 if I ever make a claim, not a refurbished one.
But anyway, get this phone, you won't be disappointed.

I got it because it was one of the cheapest and paid a price for that! This phone has the worst battery life I have ever seen. Also, the keys don't work right after about 8 months. One would be better off spending some more and getting a better phone.

Samsung E715 Voice Dialing!

This phone is great excect a cpuple of features. The good news is the flash and the picture sizing is beautiful. However, when I pay ove $300.00 I expect all of the features. This phone does NOT have voice dialing and I was very disapointed. I was mis lead by a certain website that it did have this feature. The other feature it doesn't have is a speakerphone. I'm sure this is all a part of marketing but It would be nice to have it all!

Large LCD color screen feature 65,000 colors (128x160 pixels)

Nice phone but ...

I have had this phone for about a month and I really like it for all of its fun features but I find the screen hard to read. Maybe I need glasses but I can hardly see the battery strength in the right corner and I REALLY have a hard time reading the signal strength in the top left corner. I do regret getting this phone but not because of the phone itself but for the coverage in my area. The signal stinks in my area and probably 85% of the time when I go to use my phone I have no signal or I get the call failed message.
Product features:
Tri-band GSM phone is notable for its high-resolution display, VGA camera, and MP3 ringtones
Camera features 5MB of memory, self-timer, saves images for Picture Caller id
Large 65,000 color primary display for Internet browsing, game playing (Prince of Persia included)
External caller id display for call screening, phone book with 1000 entry capacity
Ringtone support MIDI and MP3 formats, as well as built-in MotoMixer ringtone composer
