Sony Ericsson S710a Phone (Cingular)
impressive but frustrating

keyboard is not illuminated; has a reflective surface that makes it hard to see
synchronization with macs is sketchy; strips company names out of address book
and replaces them with periods; only syncs up personal names
great screen, media features, impressive camera function
somewhat chunky, seems robust though
I wish I could pay $250 and get it without camera, mainly care about bluetooth and data features, but Cingular has you over a barrel since it is the only one that does that.... at least for macs
Product features:
Unique swivel design with oversized, 2.3-inch 262,000 color display
Buit-in 1.3 megapixel VGA camera with 8X zoom and video recording

Samsung N330 Phone (Verizon Wireless)
Good mid-priced phone; Attractive styling

When my Nokia finally became too disgusting to look at after being continually beaten and abused, I went to the Verizon store for a replacement. The new low-end Nokia didn't have internet access and I didn't want a flip phone , so I bought the Samsung N330.

Pro's:
1. Good battery life (one of my main criteria)
2. Smaller size when slide is retracted
3. Loud ringer
4. Excellent voice recognition (Verizon transferred my contact list and it recognizes all my contacts by name without training)
5. Good transceiver. I live in a rural area where signal strength is an issue. The N330 exhibits good range and signal quality is excellent, even though it employs an internal patch antenna and has no extendable antenna.
6. Attractive styling, if that's your thing. I use Apple computer products and consider them to have excellent design & styling. I would rate Samsung's N330 styling in the same league.

Cons:
1. Audio quality is somewhat tinny sounding. It sounds like the frequency response of the internal ear speaker is too narrow, especially regarding low frequency roll-off.(In speaker-phone mode, the N330 sounds fine due to the larger speaker located below the keypad near the microphone.)
2. I am concerned about the life expectancy of the slide-out display. Not that it feels flimsy or cheap; Brand-new, it works great...and gets high score on the cool-factor, however I foresee mechanical problems. I could be wrong, and I hope that I am. Only time will tell.
3. Few standard ring-tones. I like to have a few choices of simple non-musical tones.
4. There is a flexible cover over the charger connector that must be peeled off and rotated out of the way every time you connect the charger.

For me, the pros outweigh the cons.
Product features:
Sleek and innovative design with the pop-up screen makes you stand out in the crowd
128 x 160 pixel, 65K color color display
Get your friends in on the conversation with the easy-to-use dedicated speakerphone button for group chats
The n330 is the first mobile phone with VibeTonz, a unique vibrating ringtone feature that matches the beat and melody of 15 preloaded ringers
Up to 4.9 hours continuous digital CDMA talk time

Data Pimp

I returned this phone the same day I received it. The phone was pretty much wired to hook up to data services at the drop of a pin. All I wanted was a phone that had bluetooth. I could have put up with a phone that was capable of WAP, SMS, ABC and XYZ, but with this phone, you have to tip-toe around these services if you don't want to accidently start the kb-meter going. There is the "on-line" button on the right side. Tipping the joystick forward initiated a data connection. The upper right key did as well. And if you brought up the main menu with the icons, then the top two icons were data connections.... You get the idea. The phone was designed to funnel users into more expensive data services like cattle heading through feedlot chutes. I felt like making a voice call was buried deep within the phone... somewhere. It made me yearn for my old basic Nokia that did one thing and did it very well.
Product features:
The T637 features a high-resolution screen with 65,536 colors
With a built-in camera, you take pictures and store them on your computer or send them to friends all in a few simple steps
Supports the Java and Mophun platforms, making the widest range of mobile games and applications available for you to download
Update your calendar and transfer files to your computer using Bluetooth, infrared, or USB connections
Comes with standard battery and a SIM card

It's only an OK phone

I switch from Samsung S105 to Motorola V300 and found out I like my old cell phone better. From time to time I missed call because V300 switches itself from vibrate/ring to silent mode. I finally found out it was because the external buttons on the left hand side of the phone, which is used to swith the ring style, were pressed by accident. I turn on the password protection so it won't switch ring style by mistake. But it still puts itself into the silent mode when the ring style is set to "loud". I am really confused.....
Product features:
Tri-band GSM capability
Large color display features 65,000 colors
Built-in VGA camera with zoom

GETTING RID OF THIS PHONE TODAY

Finally the end of a frustrating 1 year contract with NEXTEL. This phone drops calls, doesn't get a signal, flashes error messages freaquently, often polutes your conversations with clicking noises, freezes up and makes text messaging a nightmare. The nicestest thing about this phone is the speaker phone, works great from a distance even, that is . . . on the rare occassion you get a clear signal. Don't waste your money with NEXTEL or on the i730.
Product features:
The i730 comes with a new 65k color display with enhanced clarity that allows you to customize your screen with downloadable wallpapers, adjustable color palettes, and choice of three font sizes
Hands-free cellular conversations are always available with the built-in speakerphone
Set your phone and instantly connect to the last Direct Connect call or an assigned contact by pressing the PTT button from the main idle screen
Comes with a powerful datebook that allows you to book meetings, plan events, and set alarms that will automatically turn-on the phone if needed
Phone can store up to 600 contact entries - Store up to seven numbers for a single name

I'm Getting By With It

This phone is recommended for everybody. I'm only 13, and I think this phone is for people older than I. I like it, but I wish it had these things:

Speakerphone
Louder Ringtone

Sometimes I have to put it on vibrate just to know somebody is calling me. But I like they camera. It has a really clear display also.
Product features:
Built-in camera with 4x zoom
65k color TFT display
Mobile instant messaging and MMS (multimedia messaging service) capable
Voice-activated dialing
Personal organizer includes calendar, calculator, alarm clock, and voice recorder

Great buy

I just bought 3 phones as part of a family plan - Motorola v300, Nokia 6600 and Motorola v180.

The v300 is a very nice buy, especially because of its built-in Camera, which has 4X zoom and very nice picture quality. Its also got nice and loud ringer tones, good reception and a very elegant user-interface. The speaker phone isn't as good as compared to my Nokia's.. too much static at times, but it still does a decent job. One of the major shortcomings for picture enthusiasts is that it lacks Bluetooth and Infrared (which Nokia 6600 has).

To compare it against the other Motorola I got, although it isn't as sharp looking as the v180, Motorola v300 has better reception, a bigger and elegant screen, MUCH better ringer strength and reception, a slick camera phone, and so much more.

Tri-band GSM capability
Large color display features 65,000 colors
Built-in VGA camera with zoom
Supports text messaging and wireless Internet (WAP 2.0)

I purchased the Jabra non-Bluetooth headset with limited expectations, in light of some of the other reviews. I'm glad I had such low expectations. This product is terrific. The unit is well designed, light weight, and perfect reception. I highly recommend this headset.
Product features:

An answer/end button supports voice activation
Weighs less than one ounce
Works with non-bluetooth phones using an included adapter
