Got this phone with t-mobile service and haven't regretted switching from ATT. Been disappointed before time and again with quirky billing and service issues of Sprint and ATT. T-mobile has not disappointed yet in three months. Service coverage is not that bad.. Works flawlessly when it's on. Speakerphone is great. Camera is awesome for the fact that it is a 'Phone'. I have given up on convergence and bought this phone as it has limited calendaring, extensive addressbook and all other features I care about in phone. The throwback dialpad is not that big a deal.. just takes some getting used to.

If you remember the old 8500's, then this phone will seem familiar. The A400 and A460 both strayed away from the 8500 design, but this phone is a welcome return to the simplicity that made the 8500 such a hit. This phone is nothing special. It doesn't have a camera or anything like that. It comes with a lot of ringers and such, but anything you download, you pay for usually on a 3 month basis. It's not worth it.
There is no front display but you adapt quickly. As is the case with all Samsung flip phones, it gets hot and the battery doesn't last long. If you charge every night and don't talk a lot, this will never be a problem. As far as heat, it's nothing unusual. The service is fine. I've had no problems.
The voice memo is back. That's extremely useful once you get the hang of it. The alarm clock is far more functional. But the thing I like the most on this phone is the voice dial. It is far more functional than the crude voice dialing on the 8500 and the spiffed up voice dialing on the A460. The voice dial is a feature of the PHONE and is not the Sprint Voice Command service. My only real gripe with the phone is that the phone book is so feature rich that it's not easy to use. It's easier for me to voice dial someone than navigate my phone book. Another gripe is that phone calls sound somewhat tinny, like the other person is standing in a big empty room. I noticed this on the first day, but quickly grew used to it.Pros:
1. Better, functional voice dialing.
2. slim design
3. Voice memo is back, lots of features
4. Plenty of downloadables if you're into that.
5. Launch pad buttons are programmable!Cons:
1. Over featured phone book
2. No front display!
3. Typical short battery life with all Samsung flips
4. tinny, hollow sound during phone callsUndocumented features:
1. Menu button pages down lists, and the volume up and down also pages up and down through lists.
2. During a call, if you hold down the "back" key, the time and date will pop up on screen.
3. The center button of the launch pad pressed without holding down is the same as the OK button.Overall, if you're just looking for a decent cell phone, this will do. If you want features and options and a camera and other frills, buy another phone. This phone will mainly appeal to people who remember the old 8500's and people who don't want a fancy phone, but don't want a piece of garbage either.

Had it for a year, my title for the review pretty much sums up what I felt about this phone. Hopefully, the 650 improves upon those shortcomings. I know 650 has bluetooth, but don't seems to have wifi, that makes me want to go for a XDA III or i-Mate.

First of all, I now know why the shipping is free over a certain amount of dollars spent. It took FOREVER to receive my Cardo Systems scala-500 Bluetooth Headset and we remain waiting for a DVD we order WEEKS ago. I'm not sure if the fulfillment of the order is on the manufacturer's end or Amazon.com's end. ANYWAY, when the produce FINALLY arrived, we opened the box and did everything right according to the instructions/manual. Here in-lies the problem(s): the earpiece hurt, the unit turns its self off and on, it picks up other cell phones and tries to pair with them (the cars next to me), several calls were staticy and/or sounded as if the other end was underwater, the main function button is HUGE on the face (which is pressed accidentally, all the time) and places your call on hold or hangs up, the battery life was no where's near what is advertised, etc. We gave it a chance for 2 days and could no longer take it! It's going back first thing Monday morning!

Ahh memories....well not really, this is the first phone Virgin mobile put out and it's been a year and the phone is in great condition. It's cute and small, not many upgraded features as the other phones Virgin Mobile has put on the market but it's been of good use and still is. I still have my Spongebob Square Pants Theme Song so I'm greatful about that...I just don't use it as much unless its for emergency phone calls and ahh yes the 100's of text messages I send out daily.

This is such a cool phone! I used to have the Party Animal, but then got this one and gave the other one to my mom. Everyone who has seen my phone has complimented me on it. I like the polyphonic ring tones and the wall paper. The only thing is the screen gets dirty fast if you touch is often and the buttons are a little hard to push. Other wise it is a great phone to have! I'm glad I got this phone.
Product features:
No prepaid minutes included. Comes with charger.
Unique sliding design - phone slides open with the push of a thumb
Full-color screen
Downloadable, polyphonic ringtones and vibrate alert

New phone = new headset so I thought I'd go with the winder, since the cord frequently gets caught in my car. This product is great - it's not good for noisy places, but what headset is? I've never had anyone ask me to repeat things or complain about sound quality, so I'm very happy with it. Users of older Jabra models will appreciate the locking eargels.Pros:
Cord winder keeps cord untangled when stored
Locking eargelsCons:
No answer/end button on cord
Product features:
Sensitive, uni-directional microphone delivers consistent sound no matter how you move
In-line WindUp with built-in clothes clips offers lightweight, tangle-free ease of use
Retractable cord winds compactly to fit in the palm of your hand, a pocket, briefcase or purse
EarGels channel sound into your ear for reception that outdoes your handset
With the 2.5mm Universal Jack, this headset works with most phones (except Nokia phones)

Tracfone is a good concept compared to Sprint, for example, if you only want a phone to stick in the glove compartment. That's why I got one. But trying to activate the phone and receive the promotions that are offered is virtually impossible. When I tried to activate online and receive bonus minutes, the system keeps creating "errors". So I call to activate and get an automated line that failed to issue me the phone number for my tracfone. Friends referral? Good luck deciphering the process. Cut and paste and send emails to people to prove you got the email from a friend . . . what is this anyway?? Also, my phone only recognizes roaming mode. Terriffic, cut those minutes in half. Customer service is every bit as pathetic as other critiques suggest. I keep getting told the "system isn't up" so problems can't be solved. "Call back next week", etc. doesn't solve problems. When you browse their site to purchase a phone, you may get a popup window that says "take 10% off today on your order, we'll calculate it at checkout". (...) No discount happens. They even add sales tax to your order. If I'm lucky enough to 1. Get a phone number 2. Get my phone to recognize local calling zones and get off of Roam Mode 3. Get the promotional minutes I was promised . . . well then tracfone would be fine.
Product features:
150 prepaid wireless units, good for 1 year from time of activation
Local calls use 1 unit a minute, long distance calls use 2 units per minute
Nationwide service
Long distance included
Compatible with TracFone Nokia 252C, 282, 5180, 5125 and 5165 phones

It does what a cell phone needs to do. It has the essentials. But that's all it has. If you want some serious gadgetry with serious polyphonic ringtone-ness, and all that good stuff. If you want to be able to have more options while customizing, if you want all the little screensavers and pictures and games and ringtones, i would suggest going with an i90c, but the i60c works just fine, it's a no nonsense phone.
Product features:
Direct Connect, digital two-way radio feature
Speakerphone function for hands-free calling
Wireless web enabled
AOL Instant Messenger service
Includes 750mAh lithium-ion battery and travel charger
