only if desperate

this phone is boring, ugly, heavy and sometimes freezes. The reception is good but sometimes you could hear yourself echo when speaking. I would only use this phone for emergencies. Also, the phone uses the battery more because it is not a flip phone. This phone has to be locked because if it is to be kept in a bag or pocket buttons will be pressed which can cause it to call someone and waste your minutes.
Product features:
High-resolution color display with personalizable color schemes and wallpapers
Send and receive e-mail and access the Web wirelessly
Java support for game and application downloads
Memory available for downloadable ring tones and picture messages
Personalize caller ID with graphic icons

good phone...meets expectations..few cons

I got this replacing a samsung a460..and my faith in samsung has been made stronger...
Almost the same functionality as the a460, with a lil bit more, and of course, a color screen added. Got wot i expected and am very happy with the phone. Ppl i spoke to said my voice comes across very clear...probably clearer than my earlier device. All in all, very happy with this buy. And forgot to mention the parameter, which was the USP for me - the weight. The thing comes at a mere 2.8 oz and thats real neat. Probably one of the lightest devices on show today. It doesnt come with a camera and all that jazz, but if you dont need those, very nice phone.CONS
****
It seems to have a few delays in operation. Sometimes very slow to respond to keys, and at times, the Phonebook tells me it is "Initialising", when I try to use, and keeps shwing that message fopr quite some time.

Motorola V180 Phone (Cingular)
The first AND last Motorola I have and will ever own

I bought this phone in Russia, from Megafon, as a mean of communication with my family in the states while being overseas. The first two weeks I owned the phone it was absolutely flawless, with amenities galore and overall very sleek and good looking. I have owned several mobile phones, but this was the first Motorola. I do not consider myself picky about phones, simple functionality suffices just fine - I don't need all the fireworks that come with so many phones, so the V180 looked great for me, a student on a limited budget. Aside from enjoying the option of speakerphone, something I have never had on a mobile, this phone is a complete piece of garbage. For the past month now, I have been unable to dial any phone number whatsoever - everytime I even attempt to do so the phone freezes, the backlight turns off, then goes to a black screen, and finally defaults back to the main background saying "No Service" - after which a few seconds pass and it goes back to normal with full signal. I do not make many phone calls, as airtime is very expensive here, so I was able to get by with text messages locally and receiving incoming calls for a while, but that is ridiculous for owning a phone that you'd think would function! Why would you purchase a phone that you can't call outbound on? Should I want to dial a number, there is no possible way to do so, no way around it - through the phonebook, recent call lists, and even directly dialing the number on the keypad. The same goes for simply accessing my phonebook, if I attempt to edit the name of a contact in my book, it goes through those same stages and leaves me stranded, like usual.

As my first Motorola, I was excited to purchase something that has the reputation of being high quality, but such a worthless device may as well be branded 'Garbage' as it is simply nothing better. You will regret purchasing this phone, but certainly not as much as I do, because there is no possible way for me to return it. The remaining months I am here and stuck with this phone, I will have to text someone and have them call me if I want to talk with them. I just hope that I never need to make an emergency call! Thanks alot Motorola!

Phone is really cool! but amazon lets you down

The phone is very nice, small and cute. Its display is superb, infrared and blutooth capability makes it really easy to transfer stuff to/from computer. Unfortunately the camera is not a good one, more like a toy camera. The memory of the phone is pretty small, I guess 1 MB that means you cannt store too many things. The keys are easy to use and the joystick makes it really easy to browse through menu items. The signal strength is amazing and its picks up very well. AMAZON didn't send the SIM card activated so I had to call up ATT wireless and establish a new connection for myself right from scratch. Infact the customer service representative of ATT WIRELESS told me that she has no account activated for me neither any record of mine forwared to them by AMAZON. So she pretty much set a new account right from scratch. I didn't have any trouble with the customer service of ATT wireless as some other people complained. They were pretty cool and my phone was activated immediately after I called and they set a new account for me. Why does AMAZON takes 4-5 day to ship the phone when it is just shipping the phone (which the website shows Ships in 24 hours) and it is not even establishing an account. Why does it ask for social security for credit check which is needed to activate a new account when its not even establishing an account.
Overall I will give the T637 4* rating and AMAZON a 1* rating.
I certainly expected better from AMAZON but it was a let down.

Buy a different phone - but not this

This is my first motorola phone. If I had know about this, I wouldn't have bought this. No wonder it is not on sale anymore. This phone just blanks out when you keep dialing the numbers. Sometimes, the buttons don't work and they freeze. When it happens so, it is hard to open the back cover to take the battery out. Bad design with Alarms; you have to set it on everynight for the next morning. I had a sony ericsson before which had a nice feature of 7 days calendar. 'Exit' buttons are wrongly designed. Overall, a very bad design.

VGA (640x480) camera with 4x zoom

GREAT little phone!

I can't give it 5 stars, because that would mean there's nothing that can be improved, and that's just ridiculous....
I have read a lot of reviews on here, and it seems that more people complain about T-Mo's service than the phone they're supposed to be reviewing. NO MOBILE CARRIER IS PERFECT!
That being said...this phone is terrific! Very easy to use - I skimmed the manual and was breezing thru everything the phone could do. Reception is fine for most cases. The only exception is when I'm at school, in the middle of nowhere, inside the building. Go outside, and all's good. Even with 1 bar reception, sound quality is good. The joystick is a bit tough to manage if you have larger hands, but that too was learned quick enough, and it's a nice feature instead of constant button-clicking to navigate menus. Bluetooth, voice commands, and picture call-ID were all very easy to set-up.

To the majority of the complaints I have seen on here, I have to say:
*It's a PHONE - having a camera in it is a bonus.
*T-Mo's service - try Cing*lar and tell me you don't have billing problems.
*Easily scratched/smudged - so's a new car, but I'm not gonna run out and buy a rustbucket to avoid it!

Product features:
Large 128x160 pixel 65.000 color screen
MMS for composing messages using images, sounds and text
Supports Java and Mophun platforms for the widest range of mobile games and applications
Supports Bluetooth, infrared and cable for PC synchronization
With a built-in 319 x 288 pixel camera and QuickShare software

Unreliable phone

I have had many problems with this phone and with Cingular service. Sometimes, when my friends call, they do not get my voice mail, they do not get ringing- they get dead air (or sometimes one of those evil prerecorded messages like Message GL 23 blah).

As for the phone itself, it developed this problem of the sound going out. The person I was talking to could hear me, but I had complete silence from them. Then if I tapped the phone or made a noise, the sound would come back (so obviously, this was not just me having the volume down too low). The reception is also terrible in my area of Central Florida with this phone.

I got a different phone (Nokia 3595) and it has worked a lot better so far. Much better reception in my area, none of those sound problems.

Overall, I was very disappointed with this Ericsson phone. I had the T60d before and it always worked really well, but the T226 just is not very good.

Great product but has flaws

I have used the T 610 for about two months. Overall, my experience has been positive. I like the color screen, the megatones, the battery life and the size. The user interface is OK, too. At first it seems confusing but with time you get used to it. After all, the phone has quite a few functions so there have to be some compromises with usability vs. features. The phone seems poorly built, though. When I squeeze the sides of the phone, the parts rub against each other and squeek. But the phone does not disintegrate so I guess this is a 'feature' not a defect. Also, the wide screen gets smudged quickly. My biggest complaint is about the phone freezing. I had an appointment scheduled in the Outlook calendar and the phone was on silent. When the reminder came on, the phone vibrated and froze when I wanted to see the details about the appointment. None of the buttons, including the On/Off button worked. To get out of that situation I had to call the phone from another telephone, and that is when T 610 came back to life.Overall, it is an excellent phone except for the Microsoft product in it. But then, what else do you expect?

Jabra EarBoom for Nokia 3000 and 8000 Series Phones
Thank you Jabra

I have had my 8260 since ATT started selling them and have hated the Nokia earbud ever since. No one had a compatible headset until I found the Jabra EarBoom and now I am a happy camper. It's comfortable, it works (REALLY !) and has been reliable. If I have to give it a ding for anything it would be the cable. It's a bit stiff - oh well - IT happens and no one is perfect. Bottom line - if you have a Nokia 82xx - get a Jabra
Product features:
Increased hands-free mobility and safety
Flexes easily to adjust to contours of your face
Especially useful in noisy environments
Includes six comfortable eargels
Compatible with Nokia 8810, 8860, 8820 and 8260 phones
